After the big dramatics of the Walter Park storyline, it’s nice to really slow down for this volume and just focus on the cast hanging out. That includes Azz and Iruma hiding from the press at Clara’s place, which is exactly as chaotic as it sounds.

This part is an excellent combination of everything that drives Azz crazy, but with Clara also being mortified by her family. It’s better when the aggravation is spread around, plus it has a really sweet moment or two in there.

There’s a very funny mixer, although it gets zero points for originality, as the organizer has picked guys he thinks he can easily outshine and is forced to reevaluate that position rather quickly. I will say this has one of my very few problems with the volume, as it has an… unconventional looking… demon girl that basically exists to be the loser prize. That’s a little meaner than this series almost ever gets and was a bit of an odd turn.

Everything else goes off very nicely - Ameri gets two great chapters, including a date, and one pairs her with Azz, which proves to be a fun combination. Even Sully, who I run very hot and cold with, has a strong chapter where he and Iruma go shopping.

The good parts are enough to get this a 4.5 stars, but not enough to hit the full 5, just because the last section introduces another impossible challenge as the new term starts, which is fine, but I am not sold on the new character they introduce or Iruma’s approach. We’ll take a wait and see on that one.

Still, if you told me I’d be this into Iruma’s adventures when I started this series, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. It is a great story that boils down to ‘working hard and being nice might actually be okay’ and it’s a sentiment that it carries off without being too maudlin.

I LOVE TRAINING ARCS SO MUCH RAGHHH I LOVE THE MISFITS GROWING TOGETHER AS INDIVIDUALS RAGHHH

Anyway, this volume really highlighted that Nishi-sensei's strength lies in their societal world building. The maps (if you could call them that) are super simple, with vast swaths of empty barren land. This can be attributed to the fact that hell doesn't have like a landscape but I do wish there was a bit of design in the transition areas. Then again, it's not really important to the plot so 🤷‍♂️

A date with Ameri? Instant 5 stars! Her crush on Iruma is my favorite part of the the series. I love how she’s down on herself because of her size but she was rocking that swimsuit and when Iruma carried her because she injured her leg, her blushing was the best! But look out Ameri, that face Clara made about Iruma was priceless, she really does care for him. This is such a fun manga and a breath of fresh air every time I read a volume.

This volume is fun. Iruma and Ameri date time at water park, hilarious and adorable. New mentor for misfit class, crazy and fun and I think it'll getting crazier in the next volume. Not much of action but this one is a start of another arc, so totally understand.
Overall another fun entertaining read.

Nice set up for the next major arc as we get a few funny chapters of the character enjoying themselves without having anything to really worry about. We also get introduced to a few characters who are going to put the Misfit class into what seems to be a training arc.

Je me suis enfin motivée à me mettre à jour et rattraper mon retard.

5/5 stars!

I feel like the Babyls' teachers, specially Kalego-sensei, is really grooming the Abnormal Class to be part of the Thirteen Crowns someday. He sees the potential in them and knows that they can be exceptional if trained appropriately according to their personalities. On another note, Raim-sensei is definitely in my top 3 favorite Babyls's teachers. Her "baby-chan"-ing Clara is always my favorite.
