If you're a huge Disney fan, by all means, add this to your collection, however, for me the recipes are too complicated, fussy and use ingredients that are not always easily found in your neighborhood grocery store. Beautiful pictures of all the recipes (which I feel is a requirement for a cookbook) and interesting stories that go with them make it an interesting read even if you don't plan on making any of the recipes.
I found most of the recipes to be too complicated with hard to find ingredients to make regularly, however the stories about the recipes and festivals were very interesting. Filled with gorgeous photos (required for me in any cookbook) there are a few recipes I will try. Very enjoyable read for any Disney fan.
Definitely liked the other cookbook better - the recipes are less “make-able” in this. I bookmarked a few but otherwise kind of complex and not interesting at the same time. Glad to have the frushi recipe and some of the cocktails!
A chance to experience the festivals of Disney in your own kitchen…
The Official Disney Parks Celebration Cookbook: 101 Festival Recipes from the Delicious Disney Vault by Pam Brandon is a tribute to the history of the various festivals held in Disney world and Disneyland…and the delicious food one might experience…
Where for the holidays…gardening…or food and wine, Disney has a lot of culinary options, and this book tries to give a showcase to the myriad booths and festival faire they offer.
Covering the four of of the main food festivals held at Disney, this cookbook contians appetizers, deserts, adult beverages, and more filling entrees…
Along with each recipe, it also contains notes on when and where (the particular booth) they debuted in Disney. Naturally, some may no longer be featured in the festivals, so this may be a chance to experience a little of Disney past.
Accounting it are brief writeups and giant photo spreads of each festival…
Wish I had time to try out all these recipes. I remember some of the food from my visits to Disney World during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and at Christmastime throughout Walt Disney World.
Overall, it is a very fun cookbook though most of the recipes I can't indulge due to the ingredients. I do look. forward to the few recipes I saved and many were very adorable as well!
