Obsession pulled me in from the first chapter. Cole and Janie’s story is a blend of raw emotion, intense chemistry, and the kind of messy, imperfect love that feels incredibly real. Cole’s fight to rebuild himself, and win back the woman he never stopped loving, gives the story real heart, while Janie’s strength and vulnerability make her easy to root for. The spice is strong, the emotion is stronger, and the tension between them crackles all the way through. The pacing did wobble in a few spots, and I would’ve loved a bit more time with the characters as they work through their past. But it's a short story, so I expected things to move fast.

The audiobook narration was chef's kiss, though. Chloe Ryan and Teddy Hamilton deliver excellent narration. Teddy brings Cole’s rough-edged vulnerability to life, and Chloe adds warmth and depth to Janie. Their performances truly elevate the story.

Perfect for spicy romance lovers. 🔥💋

Thank you to NetGalley for this ALC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I’m not usually drawn to second-chance romance, but if Teddy Hamilton is narrating, I’m always going to give it a go. The subject of addiction is handled with real care and sensitivity, and unlike in many other stories, the character in recovery is never portrayed as a villain, which I appreciated greatly.

The story leans heavily into physical reconnection, with very little time spent unpacking or discussing the issues that originally led to the breakdown of the relationship. As a result, it felt somewhat unrealistic and overly rushed, with the characters diving back in headfirst in a way that didn’t quite work for me. That said, I do recognise that this is a novella, which naturally limits the depth that can be explored.

Overall, it’s a quick, spicy second-chance romance that treats addiction with care and respect.

Shadow's review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

This lovely little love story with some hot sex scenes and two likeable main characters is the first of a series about the band Ink and Iron.

Cole Kennrick’s addiction to drugs and alcohol cost him his wife and nearly cost him his career. In the seven years since they divorced, Janie has rebuilt her life without him, focusing on her career as a yoga instructor, including opening her own shop.

She still loves Cole and still finds him beyond attractive, especially his Dom persona. When he reappears, wanting her back, she is drawn to him as much as ever, but is afraid to trust him. With seven years of sobriety behind him, Cole hopes they can move forward, beyond the trauma of their shared history and in spite of the rock band craziness.

Janie was a great character, strong enough to walk away from Cole and his addictions but willing to try again when he proves himself. I also liked Cole, and his willingness to break away from his addiction. I also liked his efforts to win Janie back.

Expect some spanking and bondage in the book, and the sex scenes are hot. This wasn’t a long book, but it was a very satisfying read.

This was such a great first read by this author.

A super quick spicy novella that I completely devoured in one sitting whilst doing some boring chores - and oh my, did that job get a whole load better with this accompanying me.

This is just over 150 pages and there was so much going on here.

When Cole turns up at Janie's studio to take a class, she's surprised to see him again after their divorce seven years ago.

It's instantly clear that they both still have strong feelings for each other and we see them navigate this new situation as Cole tries to win back the love of his life.

I was really surprised by just how quickly I connected with both our main characters.

We get a good insight into the past and it's a heartbreaking story - especially as they clearly belong together.

I loved how this storyline progressed and although a little heavy on the spice, this is well delivered and feels natural within the storyline.

This was really well written and I liked that this was used to show the character development and the trust that was growing between the pair.

I could easily follow both sides of the storyline and it was hard not to take sides, but I really felt for them both and rooted for them to fix the issues they faced.

This was told through dual pov chapters and I love this format which allows us to really delve into the feelings and emotions of each character.

Such a great quick read and I can't wait to see more from this author soon!

I am obsessed with obsession. The two narrators were amazing capturing their characters perfectly. Loved the story of trauma and hurt but redemption. Janie doesn’t forgive Cole easily he has to work hard to earn her back. And the spice it was spicing in all the right ways definitely had to do a few double checks that my headphones were properly connected.

Obsession is a novella, following rockstar, Cole Kendrick, and Janie, his ex-wife. As Cole navigates the challenges of sobriety within the world of rock n’ roll, he chooses not to lose sight of what matters to him most ever again. Janie. And she hasn’t been able to forget either the absolute love of her life, nor the dark & kinky sex life they shared. Janie knows rockstars are bad news, but this one is her kryptonite. And maybe she can find it in her heart to give Cole the second chance he deserves.

As far as novellas go, I personally thought this was pretty damn good. I felt that Cole & Janie were a great match and their story was a steamy & exciting take on the second-chance romance trope. As someone with insight into how addiction can look too, I felt that this topic was approached with the utmost sensitivity, and unlike in some other books, the person in recovery was not villainised in the slightest. This was particularly thought provoking and earned extra points from me. Overall, I had a delicious amount of fun with this book, and would recommend as a quick, spicy palette cleanser for those of you who like your books well-seasoned.

P.S. if you need any extra convincing, there’s a fabulous video on @bookbreakuk of Caroline listening to the audiobook, which, as someone who was also blessed with the audio, I feel is a very appropriate & realistic reaction 👀🤭

This is a spicy novella. The emphasis is on spicy as there is very little plot happening.

The duet narration of the audiobook was enjoyable.

Thank you so much Pan MacMillan for sending the me the audiobook of Obsession by Eden Bradley in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

First things first – this book is full on spice! I listened to it whilst I was decorating my conservatory and seriously, at times my face was as pink as the rose pink I was colour drenching the space with!

Janie has rebuilt her life, her career and herself following the disastrous end to her marriage to Cole. She saved herself and her sanity, even when it totally destroyed her and broke her heart. Cole is a recovering drug and alcohol addict, he has worked long and hard and continues to work to be clean, sober and to be good enough to earn back Janie’s love. Janie and Cole reconnect following the death of Cole’s bandmate following drug addiction and it is full on fiery hot from that point on!

I’ll be honest, it didn’t feel like a courtship or wooing, it was totally full on physical connection with what felt like little discussion or exploration of the problems that resulted in the destruction of their relationship previously. Part of this I think was because Cole was scared to push the agenda in fear that Janie would run but, I also think Janie was too scared to address her fears as they could trigger Cole.

Of course this is a romance but, it’s a spicy romance, with the emphasis on spice! The sex is hot and wild, and if you’re a fan of erotic romance, particularly if you like tattooed rockers and bikers, it’s definitely one for you. Personally, I enjoyed it but, I did start to get a little bored with the constant sex and repetitive use of certain phrases, however, it kept me entertained as I rollered the ceiling and painted the edges, and definitely transported me away from my very mundane reality.

Honestly this book is one my surprise reads of the year and I'm so glad it came as an audiobook.

Seriously this book isn't just hot and amazing sex it has this truly lovely story. This is what happens when grief meets need, when memory collides with desire, and when a man with a broken past finally dares to sing again.

The sex scenes were fire and the audiobook was truly truly amazing.

I think there were a tiny pacing issues but that makes sense for such a small book but honestly what came through the most was the relationship between both Janie and Cole.

Because in essence it looks at such a big topic like drug and alcohol issues that I was a bit sceptical but truly it pulled it off. Janie and Cole didn't split up because they didn't love each other. They'd divorced because Cole was too far gone at that point.

Chloe Ryan and Teddy Hamilton did such an amazing job at the narration that I don't have enough words to say just how brilliant they were.

Thank you so much to Pan Macmillian for sending this audiobook for an honest and unbiased review.

Audiobook Review:
🎧 Narrated by Chloe Ryan & Teddy Hamilton

Short, sweet, and oh-so-hot! Obsession is a deliciously steamy second-chance romance that tugs at the heart as much as it scorches the senses. Eden Bradley crafts a story layered with regret, longing, and that intoxicating pull between two people who never truly got over each other.

Chloe Ryan and Teddy Hamilton bring the emotional depth and raw passion to life her tenderness balances perfectly with his gravelly intensity. You can feel the ache, the history, and the heat in every whispered word.

It’s a quick listen that leaves a lasting burn. If you crave second chances wrapped in steam and heartfelt angst, this one’s a must-hear.

Gosh this novella was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵🥵🥵
Hot for sure, I must admit it made me blush a couple of times!! Nice representation of consent, I liked the element of BDSM but at times it felt a lil bit forced? Like if the author wanted to be extra thorough explaining it to someone who maybe doesn’t know much about it, which to me it makes no sense.

There’s not much to the plot other than second chance type of book, and tons of sex haha.

I would not spend money on this book but I would recommend it to anyone who likes spicy scenes!

How have i never read anything from Eden Bradley before?!

Obsession has just become one of those surprise fave reads of the year for me!

Cole and Janie are divorced because of Coles addictions, Janie has moved on, (or so she thought) until one day Cole shows up at her yoga studio and he is clean and sober....he wants to make Janie remember just what was so special about their relation ship but Janie is having none of it. Can he make her fall for him again.

I am a sucker for a rock star romance and this one is right up there with some of the best i have read.

Oh....and the spice is spicing!

Cole and Janie, who have been divorced for seven years, are at a crossroads. Cole has finally left behind his rock star lifestyle, conquered his addiction, and is now laser-focused on winning Janie back - his last remaining obsession. Even though Janie still has feelings for Cole, she’s determined not to make things easy for him.

This is a quick, spicy rock star romance that promises a second chance at love. The audiobook, narrated by Chloe Ryan and Teddy Hamilton, truly brings the characters to life. If you’re in the mood for a quick and enjoyable listen, I highly recommend checking it out.

Thank you Macmillan, Tor Bramble for gifting me an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

I did not realise this was a novella until I started listening to it. I'll be honest, I saw Teddy Hamilton's name as the narrator and instantly said yes.

This is a spicy, rockstar novella featuring addiction (TWs). As with spicy novellas it's mostly spice mixed with a little bit of plot. I do kind of wish it was a longer book to get a bit deeper into the plot.

The narrators are great. I love Teddy Hamilton, and I'll definitely listen to Chloe Ryan again!

Looking for a rock n roll god.

Obsession was amazing read. It caught my interest an kept it there. Between their passion for each other. The story just had you hooked for the beginning. The very hot, seductive, very kinky sex going on this book wants me to find my own Cole. Eden houses between his and her point of view which I really love. Everyone should read this book multi times.

I love a second chance romance and the fact that drug/alcohol abuse was a major plot point. However I feel like this book lacked depth, it has so much potential to be a five star read! I think things were a little rushed with the MCs getting back together again but I did enjoy the kinky parts which played a big part in them working towards rebuilding their relationship.

For me this book was good but I just didn't connect to the characters as much as I hoped to. The spice was really good and listening to it on audio with Teddy as a narrator made it so much better 🔥

Second Chance romance isn't always a trope I love depending on how it's written and the reasons for it not working out, Cole and Janie have their issues but I didn't feel well got enough of them actually working through their issues!

As a nice quick little spicy novella though it was good and definitely made the housework more entertaining 😂

Janie, gorgeous blonde who's had her heart torn to pieces by a drug using, party hard, lead singer of a band, god, who happens to now be her ex husband, Cole. After a brief encounter at a mutual friends funeral, Cole decides it's time to win back what he's lost, his muse, his Janie girl.
Cole has been clean and sober for 6 years and now he needs his girl back.
In a bold move, Cole seeks out Janie, after a steamy kiss to leave any woman's knees weak, Janie agree to a dinner with him, a dinner that takes place after the incredible sex.

In a crazy whirl wind of sex and sex and more sex, these two rediscover each other and old love is once again burning bright.
Cole has his muse back and life is sailing by perfectly, Janie is letting her guard down, opening up and really letting herself love and be with him, but she doesn't trust him fully and when she see's some familiar drug activity at a party for the band, Janie runs, leaving Cole with no explanation and a broken heart once again.
Will this time be forever? Or will these two have the HEA everyone deserves?
Grab a copy to find out

I've read a few of Eden's work and loved them, so was super excited for this story, but was a little let down.
I think there was too much sex. Yes, you heard me, too much sex - or maybe just not enough back story, yes that's a better way to put it :)
In saying that, it's still a good story that touches on some real issues, which is why I give this one a 3.5 rating.
I would have loved to have had more of a story for these two, I mean can someone really fully trust someone on sex alone?
"Your body hears me when I call,
See's me when I cry
Is it reason enough to give
Reason enough to try
So lay me down tonight
Say just one prayer
Tell me you'll be there
Lay me down tonight."

“This book has been previously published and has been revised and expanded from its original release.” When I selected this one to read, I was sure it sounded familiar to me – like I had read it before. But where and when? After a bit of research I found that I had read it last March in an anthology, or “boxed set” as they are called in the world of e-books. But, I had enjoyed the first read and was curious to see where or if I could find where it was revised and expanded. Not to mention, I like reading this author. Now be aware, the ol’ grey matter ain’t what it used to be, so I may be a bit off base.

During my first read I found the characters likeable. I still do. Janie did what she had to do for her own sanity, even when it tore her heart out. I had to respect her for that. Cole has worked long and hard to be clean and sober and become the man to deserve Janie. I had to respect that too. He is now ready to woo Janie back. Very nice premise. I liked it.

I am not totally sure exactly how much wooing actually got done though. This couple, once they found each other again, couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Most of their “getting reacquainted” seemed to be done in the physical realm. Don’t get me wrong, there was some wonderfully HOT sex scenes going on. But discussion of their issues didn’t happen much. Cole didn’t want to push too hard and Janie was afraid to accept things as they are, instead of as they were. I could see her issue, especially since this was taking place in the world of rock and roll.

But, as with most romances, they reached their understanding and had their happy ever after. Did I see where it was revised and expanded? I may be wrong, but it seemed there were even more sex scenes than I remember. I wonder too if the parts where I saw typos was also the expanded part that editors hadn’t seen yet. *shrugs* Hard to say without going back and doing a page by page comparison which, frankly, I don’t have the time or desire to do. Suffice it to say, it was a decent read with some hot sex, a bit of a story and a satisfying ending.

Any fan of erotic romance will like this story. If you are into tattooed rockers and bikers with kinky sex thrown in, well bonus! You will love this one!

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I also own the original boxed set this was found in.

As I sit to write this review I find myself amused, when the Fifty shades books came out the phrase 'mommy porn' was totally overused by the media with almost adolescent glee to poke fun at the women reading this genre of books, allegedly the sales of e-readers like kindle benefitted hugely so women could read their mommy porn without anyone being the wiser. Many of us, both those who picked up the Fifty books from pure curiosity and then continued to read more, and those who have always read avidly have suffered teasing at some point or another, they’re just sex not real books, smut rubbish, etc etc but I am saying it, loud & shouting it's not porn!
I need a storyline, I need some character development, I need a connection NOT JUST SEX so Ink & Iron just didn't work for me on any level.
We have character names and a very loose storyline but the majority of this book is sex, nothing but. It's not a long read which is why I continued and finished, expecting it to pick up and start engaging me at some point but nope, just didn't happen. There is way too little interaction without sex between Cole and Janie for me to get any feels or connection for them. I really didn't care one way or the other for the outcome of the book, HEA, kill them all, zombies, pretty much you could have done anything with them as I was not invested at all, in fact thinking about it, they would probably just have had zombie sex as it's all there is in here. Unfortunately I didn't find the sex hot, more stilted and uncomfortable and very much orientated to Cole.
I am not going to harp on and on with negativity about this book, just say it's not for me at all. Disappointing and at $3.49 for 98 pages in my opinion totally overpriced, but that’s a different issue.

If you’re thinking of picking up this book in search of a plot, don’t, it’s pretty much all sex. Not that that’s a bad thing, because it really isn’t. This book is hot. I loved how Cole knows exactly what he wants – Janie back in his life and his bed – and he isn’t afraid to do what he must to make her trust and love him again. He’s open and honest and smoking hot as he talks his way back into her life and ends back in her bed.

Once they’re there not a lot else happens, to be honest. There’s some sex, then it’s two (or maybe three) days later and they talk a bit, have more sex, then it’s two weeks later, and so on. This is a book about makeup sex, lost love and making up for loads of lost time. It’s not super kinky, since Janie has some understandable trust issues – and I loved how that was raised, accepted and Cole was more than happy to wait for her to be comfortable again – though there is a bit of spanking.

In all this is a sexy tale about two people who love each other deeply, but have a mountain of baggage and trust issues to work through – which they mostly do in bed. Touching on the destructive elements of addiction and how not everyone can be reached or saved in the same ways, this story mostly skims the surface of dark emotions and focuses on rebuilding the good things in life. A hot, sexy, short read – I’ll be looking out for the next in the series.

Sexy as hell rocker Cole has cleaned up his act and has been on the right track for several years now. The only thing missing in his life is the woman he has always loved and pushed away with the mess he created with his addiction. He decides that he has waiting long enough and it's time to get his girl. Janie is surprised when he shows up at her work after all these years. He asks her not only out to dinner, but wants her to consider giving him a second chance. She has always loved this man, but her trust in him was destroyed and her heart broken when they divorced. Dinner ends up being some scorching hot sex involving a power exchange dynamic. Janie realizes that she really wants to give him another chance and they begin to rebuild that trust lost when the love remained. I so loved these two together and Cole is one sizzling naughty talking bossy man.

I give Ink and Iron 4 hearts!

A nice book about some serious things in this world. It wasn't anything mind-blowing but it was still worth reading. I also like that authors write about things like drug and alcohol abuse and issues like that because the way I see it, people will read about it in fiction books as well and maybe we can someway help people with those issues if we read about it. Of course there was a lot of got sex involved and love which makes any book more than good.
