This was a really great short story but in my opinion, it was way too short! I would LOVE a full-length novel with Emma and Noah!
I loved everything about this story, from the way they first met to how Noah makes it up to her after his ex-girlfriend interferes and makes him miss kissing Emma when the clock strikes midnight like he promised her he would.
My favorite scene was the one at the end of chapter 1 where they danced together.
𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 @ 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐭
This was a really cute story. One of my favorite parts was the ending where they are on the roof of the bar together on NYE.
This was one of my favorite lines/quotes from “Cocktails @ Midnight”
“I have to ask, when you dream, what colour eyes are looking into yours when dream guy is f*****g you just the way you like it?” “Emerald green eyes.” I don’t even hesitate answering, giving away the fact that I've thought about Sebastian more often than I'd care to admit.”
And when Roxanne says right after that “I can't even look him up, because the last name was unreadable.” I totally understand what she was going through in that moment because I dealt with something similar myself a little over 3 years ago.
For being just nine chapters long plus an epilogue, I feel like the story doesn't need to be any longer or shorter than what it is, it’s perfect exactly as it was written.

This was a really beautifully written and emotional story about finding love again after tragically losing the person who was the love of your life.
To honor his late husband, Craig goes to his husband Zac's high school's reunion in his name and ends up meeting Nestor and after a bit of awkwardness in the beginning, the sparks quickly fly between the two of them.

This is my favorite story of the anthology! Clara is definitely me 100%, an introvert with horrible social anxiety that hates big crowds. Reading about her felt like I was reading about myself. And I absolutely LOVED Ronan, he is so sweet! 🥰
In just six short chapters, this story has everything; sweet moments, a couple of spicy scenes, and plenty of emotional scenes, especially this quote from the end of chapter five;
“It’s easy to blame ourselves when loved ones choose to leave us. But try to consider that Declan stayed as long as he did for you and the rest of the band. But life was simply too hard for him and despite his love for you, he chose to go. His choice – and therefore not your fault.”
⬆️ This part made me cry when I read it.
Like I said earlier, this story squeezes a little bit of everything into just six chapters but I wish that the story was a lot longer because I didn't want it to end and I want more of Clara and Ronan! 🩷
𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭'𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐕𝐊 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐭
This was a really cute short story, both Joss and Chad are dealing with recent breakups when they meet for the first time and Chad helps her to regain her confidence after the way that her ex treated her in their relationship but when Joss and Chad plan a getaway together, Joss's work schedule gets in the way and Chad ends up going solo and while on the trip, he messes up and nearly ruins what they had but the way he makes it up to her and tries to win her back is adorable! 🩷
This short story, Kiss Me, Cowboy by Jill Brashear, is part of an anthology about New Year's Eve. This review is for this story only!
New year, new romance?
Emma on New Year's Eve at Magnolia’s Tavern in Mossy Oak, North Carolina, the normal attire is flannel and denim. So it's no wonder she attracts attention in her attire of all black mini skirt, a silk top, and high-heeled boots. It's easy to tell she's from New York. She chooses to sit at the bar, rather than a table.
She was accustomed to going alone to bars, restaurants, and movies in New York. Here it's an oddity. She moved here for her job in marketing at the resort. Although her co-workers are nice, she's having trouble making friends.
She's always wanted to live in a mountain town. The excitement, hustle, and bustle of New York appealed to her in her twenties, but now, in her thirties, she wants a slower pace.
As she sips her drink, she scripts stories in her imagination about the other patrons. It then strikes her that she seems to be the only one in the bar by herself. Everyone else is part of a couple or a group.
She finds herself dancing alone on the dance floor. She knows it may seem odd to others, but she doesn't care; she dances as if no one is watching her. Then she spies a lone man doing the same thing. He's dressed in fitted jeans and a flannel shirt, wearing a belt with a huge belt buckle and a black cowboy hat. He gives her her very first wink and approaches her as the band switches to a slow dance tune.
Noah is having a men's NYE party night with his friend. Tyler is still nursing a broken heart from his fiancée dumping him a year ago. Noah is nursing a broken heart ever since his girlfriend, Katie, dumped him. She's a kindergarten teacher and was his whole world. Everyday things had gotten too much for him to handle, but one dance with Emma reminds him that he's alive. His friend,
Emma is tossed off Rocco, the mechanical bull, after setting a new record for the longest rookie ride in three years. Choosing not to wear the helmet, she's a lot worse for wear when her face meets the floor mat. Noah takes her into his brother's office to let her recover. After a shortened game of twenty questions, they agree to meet for a midnight kiss. But he's a no-show. Even worse, when she leaves the bar to walk home, he's out in front of the bar kissing another woman...

Again, this review is for this story only, not the entire anthology it is part of.
I really only borrowed this for Renée Dahlia's entry, but gave all 11 stories a try. Renée and Gabbi Grey were the only authors I knew going into this, but anthologies like this are often great for discovering new authors. Unfortunately, Bucket List Love by Renée Dahlia was the only standout for me and it only gets 4 stars. It's a beautiful idea, I love the character of Craig, but the pacing is slow and the romance between Craig and Nestor feels too rushed at the end.
All the stories are ok. There's some cringe moments and typos, but nothing really worth going on about. The anthology gives each author a good word count in which to tell their story and each story fits the New Year's Eve drinking theme of the collection. Heat levels and spice content varies. I enjoyed the milder stories that took the time to build a relationship over a few scenes that felt cringe and out of place ways to force in a hot moment. It's a surprisingly quick read going from story to story, but nothing really gripped me. I'm sure it'll rate higher or lower for others and I do recommend it if you're interested in anthologies, mostly for m/f pairings, but there is m/m and f/f content, too. It's an ok yet forgettable read for me, though.
Although this fun romance is included in the Last Call: A New Year's Romance Collection anthology, this review is about Kiss Me, Cowboy by Jill Brashear specifically.
Emma might have once been a big city girl, but now she’s quite happy in her new small town home and doesn’t miss what she left behind. Noah is bringing in the New Year with a friend, both had been dumped once upon a time, and this is a guy’s night out kind of NYE for them both. Neither Noah nor Emma expected to find love in this bar, especially not the kind that could last a lifetime. But you never know what fate has in store for you…especially at the birth of a new, clear-slate, brand new year.
I had such fun with Kiss Me, Cowboy. From their first cute meet on the dance floor to the final page, their romance is full of emotions and possibilities. If you’re looking for a well-written, fast-paced romance that will keep you entertained from start to finish, then you’d love this story.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author's team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Kiss Me, Cowboy has charm, suspense and definitely a page turning small town romance. Kiss Me, Cowboy is beautifully written, well balanced and perfectly executed by Jill Brashear. Jill Brashear continues to show what a brilliant author she is with each book that I have read her thus far. I found this book to be quite entertaining and an absolute pleasure to read. Kiss Me, Cowboy follows the story of Emma and Noah whom I found to be fascinating and intriguing characters. I couldn’t get enough of their remarkable story and was slightly saddened when the book came to an end because I didn’t want it to end. Even though it was a short book, I absolutely loved reading it. The characters are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the story. I would definitely recommend this amazing book for anyone to checkout and give it a read.

This is a short steamy read that will have you wondering about what happen next. Noah is a cowboy nursing a broken heart at his brother's bar; Emma is a city girl who is trying to find her footing in the small town. Their meet cute happens in the bar as they start dancing together, and the chemistry is amazing -thank you Jill Brashear for adding your writing touch to these scenes-. Their connection is amazing, and you can see their interactions as he takes care of her after her little accident. IT is here that they decide to meet to welcome the new year together with a kiss. But would they be able to meet? you will have to read this story.

Noah is a man who is trying to turn the page after a complicated breakup until he meets the beautiful Emily who rides the mechanical bull of his brother's bar. Cat’s Stats MMC/FMC- Noah and Emma Genre- Cowboy Romance Heat- they do the thing and name the parts. Series? Maybe Safety? It’s fifty-fifty. Another woman is involved, but he and the heroine weren’t officially together. Honestly, I’d have kicked him to the curb. Triggers- Sex, Ex Drama Tropes- It Didn’t Mean Anything, New Year’s Kiss, Hookup, Shooting the Bull. Mewsings This was more of a hookup story than a romance.

This review is for the story Kiss Me Cowboy. It's a short and steamy, opposites-attract, New Year's Eve romance. Emma is a marketing professional from New York who took a job in a small town in North Carolina. Noah is a hunky cowboy getting over his recent break-up. When they end up at the same bar on New Year's Eve, sparks fly. Can this city girl and country boy make love work? They had great chemistry, and we ended on a happy note. This was a fun and spicy short read.

I read Kiss Me Cowboy by Jill Brashear: Emma is new to town and lonely. Noah is getting over his ex. They meet on New Year's Eve at his brother's bar. Their story is short and to the point. Their chemistry is hot. Their interest is peaked. The story is quick and fun. There is a little drama and a little angst. 3.5 stars.

Get your last drink, wink a wink to the cute guy across the bar….its Last Call. The whole novel reeks of the desperation surrounding those looking for love in crowded places. But Keighley Bradford knocked out of the park again as she always writes characters with chemistry and heart….and a little bit of reluctance.
This collection has a bit of everything, you'd expect from a New Years night out. A good collection of stories in one place. Those New years resolutions, wishes and a lot more. Join the characters on their New Years last call at the bars.

I am a big fan of anthologies, and this one had most of my favorite tropes and authors. This book was deliciously dark, tantalizing, and dirty. These stories are enjoyable to read and the characters wonderfully written. I couldn’t put it down until the end! Highly recommend!
