Rowena has spent her entire life believing that she was human, only to realize suddenly that she has powers, there are six worlds beyond Earth, her parents might be alive, and she is possibly the only person capable of marshalling forces to prevent an evil Empress from conquering the seven Kingdoms. And as a side note, Rowena will need to find at least four husbands to balance her power so she can accomplish these goals. But no pressure, totally. Ro is determined to find her parents and hopefully save the kingdoms. But how is a photographer from Vermont who gets sick at the sight of blood supposed to lead armies against a vampire villainess who has command over legions of elite soldiers? She’ll need help and lots of it. This is a fantasy adventure reverse harem romance novel where the leading lady collects her harem as the story progresses. This book is meant for readers 18 + due to mature content. Please check the Foreword for possible triggers.
I participated in choir, band and marching band in High school and have always been an animal lover, particularly cats. I enjoy reading, gardening and taking walks.
I am jumping right onto the next one, because I can't and don't want to stop reading this. It's so good! Don't be disheartened if you don't prefer third person POV writing. Still, just give it a try because I didn't even feel the difference.
I am read books that are over 500 pages with absolutely nothing to offer, and here (in this around 400 pages book) the author has shown the opposite. It had everything I didn't know I was looking for and more. There was plot, romance, steam, humour, adventure, amazing main characters, found family vibes, cool secondary characters, and everything medieval you can think from war to politics. All of this was written so seamlessly that I can say it was perfect ❤️
I loved how the characters were introduced and we got to spend so much time with them. And, I love that the scenes were constantly moving, changing, something was always happening, there was never a moment of boredom at all.
I was surprised this was by this author, because I have really enjoyed her books in the past. This feels like her first book that has been resurrected rather than the book of an established author. I struggled to get into it, I found the characters flat, and totally non questioning, it was odd. Just couldn’t finish it.
This book has me conflicted. The first part was really difficult to get through. The relationships had no build up and the characters fell flat. The bones of the story are really good and the rest got better towards the last half of the book. It has me intrigued enough to read book two just to see how it all plays out.
I enjoyed this book immensely! I really like Ro and her men, and I adore how they all work so well together. Nef is beyond delightful and needs to be both deliriously happy and protected at all costs for all eternity! I am excited to see what Part 2 has in store!
I was really surprised by this book. It turned out to be a fantastic book with a lot of world building. I really like the group of men and how they play off each other and I can't wait for the second book in this duet!!!
Good story overall. Enjoyable characters and world building. Minor editing issues, mostly format or character name change, ie going from first to last name in a sentence.
