I have such fond memories of my grandmothers. They were both special in their own way and taught me so much about how to live my life that I will be forever grateful! Here’s the list of six top things they shared with me:
(1) Don’t say anything if you can’t say something nice about someone. I think this is my favorite one as it has kept me in good stead all my life.
(2) Never be late. Doing so makes you think you’re more important than someone else. You’re not!
(3) Life is too serious to be taken seriously. Keep a sense of humor, it will help get you through the hard times. They were both right about that one.
(4) Share what you can with those in need. Know what is your burden to bear, and what is not. This one has kept me sane over the years.
(5) Don’t be a critic. Critic’s don’t create, they only tear down. This helps me when reviewers say unkind things about my work. I try to remember that they probably just need a hug today.
(6) Do the best you can do at everything you do. At least then you will know you gave it your all.
Thank you, my beautiful grandmothers, for being strong and sharing your gems of wisdom with me. You did more good than you can possibly know.

Nicely written story that has suspense, drama, intrigue, thrills, action and sweet spicy romance with a happy ever after ending it also has outstanding characters as well as being a great page turner that’s also easy to read.
An ER doctor whose mother took her and her sister away from a mafia life when younger, changing their last name to try to get away from the mafia. The ER doctor gets sucked back in after she meets the Irish mafia man from another family, while helping his grandmother who came to the ER. The two didn’t get along with each other at first but they quickly got closer.
Throughout the story secrets are being kept. The two knew after they touched that their being together was meant to be, they had sex alot through the story until the Irish mafia man found out her secret and confronted her about it. The ER doctor let the Irish mafia man go due to threats that her Russian mafia uncle made about her sister.
The ER doctor tried everything to keep her sister safe but it wasn’t until the Irish mafia man came to her and they talked that she as well as her sister were safe.
A meeting was held with all of the mafia families in the city coming together to talk at a neutral place and after the meeting the Russian mafia didn’t send word about what was talked about at the meeting the Irish mafia man with his brothers as well as several men went to where the Russian mafia uncle was at, when they got there they took some photos and said some words the the Russian mafia uncle before leaving.
The ER doctor and her sister moved into the Irish mafia family’s estate where the ER doctor stayed with the Irish mafia man. The two are in love with one another even if they haven’t said it yet.

Deadly Vows is the second book in the Irish Mafia Kings by January Bain. Like the first book Deadly Sins, Deadly Vows drew me into its depths the moment I read that first page. It held my attention right up to the last page. But wait a minute that is not quite true as it is still holding my attention as I still here writing this review.
The world-building for this series is well for lack of a better word wonderful, just wonderful. I can’t give this series enough praise as I fell in love with this series with the first book Deadly Sins. And now with book two Deadly Vows, I am more in love with it than ever.
The attraction and love between the two characters, Irish Mafia King Devlin Lyons and Dr. Katrianna Bell is just great. These two will keep you coming back for more.
Katrinna is hiding from her uncle, Nikolai Annikov who is part of the Russian Syndicate. Uncle Nik has come back into her life. He wants something from her. Nik is using Katrianna to get what he wants. If Katrianna doesn’t do as he asks he can’t promise that her sister will be safe. Katrianna will do whatever it takes to keep her sister safe. Devlin will do whatever he has to do to keep Katrianna safe.
What does Nik want from Katrianna? Can Katrianna do what he wants? Can she keep her sister safe? Can Devlin protect Katrianna and her sister from their uncle? Will Katrianna let her guard down long enough to let Devlin in? Is there a way that Katrianna and Devlin can ever be together? So many questions. All these questions kept me racing to the end as I just had to know the answers.

Devlin is second in command in his Irish Mafia family. It's ran by him and his two other brothers. The only females he keeps in his life are his mother and grandmother, all others never see more than one night. That all changes when he meets his grandmother's doctor. He likes her spunk and integrity as not only a doctor but also as a woman. He thinks healers should be revered and put on a pedestal, but she just likes to care for people.
Katrianna has a secret; one she hopes doesn't catch up with her or her sister. She returned to Montreal in hopes she could stay under her uncle's radar, as he's head of the Russian mob and her mother ran away with her and her little sister when they were little to keep them safe, but he knows she's there. When he sees her with his enemy, he tries to make her date him to be a spy. But her integrity won't let her betray Devlin.
Devlin and Katrianna have chemistry off the charts, and it doesn't matter who her family is, he will protect her. He kind of has the savior complex anyway. I mean he rescues girls taken by the Russians and helps to save babies in need and does it in pure mafia style.
Deadly Vows is a mafia romance where the romance part is hot and heavy, but the mafia part is sadly lacking. I was expecting a kidnapping or something mafia-like as it builds up in that direction, but when Devlin goes to deal with Katrianna's uncle, I was sadly disappointed in what happened. I was like....is that really it? Yes, yes it was. And right up until that point I was impressed with the book, but the frustration overruled everything else.

Deadly Vows is a mafia romance where the romance part is hot and heavy, but the mafia part is sadly lacking. When Devlin goes to deal with Katrianna's uncle, I am sadly disappointed in what happened. Is that it? This is the mafia.
Devlin has a savior complex and his integrity in saving girls taken by the Russians and saving babies is to be commended.
Katriana as a doctor has great compassion and cares about people. She wants to stay under the radar so her uncle, the head of the Russian mafia, doesn't find her. He knows where she is and also her sister who she protects.
Things get dicey when her uncle finds out she is seeing Devlin. Typical mafia moves to use your own family to find out about those in the Irish mafia. However, her integrity will not allow her uncle to use her.

This one is book 2 in the Irish Mafia Kings series and is Devlin and Katrianna's story. Their story is intense, intriguing, dramatic and at times emotional. Devlin is of course an Irish Mafia King and Katrianna is being manipulated by her Uncle Nik who's with the Russian Syndicate. He holds something over her head to force her to do as he asks, he just doesn't count on how obsessed Devlin is with his woman and what lengths he will go to in order to protect her. This is a great, fast-paced, consuming story with lots of twists, turns and surprises.

This book had my emotions all over the place. Devlin takes one look at Katrianna and that is all she wrote! She is under the influence of her uncle because of her younger sister and the implications towards her if she goes against him. What her uncle doesn't take into account is Devlin's determination to get the woman he wants and what he would do for it. will he be able to keep Katrianna and her sister safe.

Devlin wants Katrianna at first sight but Katrianna is under her uncle Niks bidding or her sister will be in the line of fire. Can Devlin keep them both safe? Well written engaging story, well developed characters and more. A great addition to the series.

They weather the dangers and roadblocks put upon them by her uncle. I really like how the uncle was put in his place. Now Devlin and Katrianna can have the future they want together.

Yall this book !!! I’m totally in my mafia girlie era and this book was chefs kiss! I absolutely loved the emotional roller coaster of the story. Cannot wait to read more from this author.
