I will admit I only started this because India Amarteifio was narrating it, and I've been desperate for something else from her since finishing Queen Charlotte. And of course, she did not disappoint. Better yet, Ruth Wilson also narrated who I've loved since her Jane Eyre miniseries and role on Luther.
I enjoyed the book overall. The story was a little hard to follow. I am not sure I fully got the plot. But it was a good little mistery.
This is an excellent audio drama, well produced, well designed, well written, well directed and well performed. Obviously it had a budget behind it, but this is what a budget gets you when properly and skilfully applied. Really intriguing story, constantly twisting and turning, never anything other than compelling. Never talks down to the listener, constantly keeps you guessing, peppered with engaging performances and neat/disturbing ideas. Thoroughly recommended.
This isn’t for everyone. It’s an audiobook comic that’s read like podcast episodes. So if you enjoy listening to podcasts, this will work for you! The audiobook narration was excellent, the story was okay. It kept me interested in wanting to know what happened next. Also keep in mind that if you’re an adult listening to this that this is technically designed for YA. Great palette cleanser between books. 5.0 stars for the narration and 3.75 stars for the story
This was so good and interesting! I immediately want to go read the comics. Already checked out the first one. I believe this is the last entry in the series.
