The Wagner Brigade #3

Jordan's Journey

Rate this book
Edie Campbell didn’t understand why she let her friends talk her into this stuff. She’s content running her surf shop and living the quiet life in Costa Rica. There, she can keep her feelings locked away and pretend she hadn’t been through war. But when Dean comes to her and asks her to help his best friend with a stalker problem, her silly brain can’t say no. And she doesn’t even like Jordan MacDowell. Well, that’s not entirely true. She likes looking at him, and that’s a problem. Because she doesn’t want a man. Doesn’t need one. Especially not one who, no matter how sexy and smart, attracts every breathing, straight woman on the planet. It wasn’t like Jordan asked for a stalker. Nor did he ask Edie to come pretend to be his girlfriend. So, he doesn’t understand why she’s so annoyed. She could have stayed in Costa Rica with her surfboard and pretend she’s not a living, breathing human being with feelings. But now that she’s here, he can’t help but want to push her out of her comfort zone. Not because it’s fun to watch her puff up like an angry kitten, but because he knows, despite her saying otherwise, she still hasn’t fully healed from her experiences in the Army. One of the perks of being a chick magnet is the ability to read a woman, and Edie Campbell has a depth of pain he wants to heal. He shouldn’t, because complicated relationships have never been his thing, but with Edie, he finds he doesn’t care. The longer she stays around, the more he wants to peel away the layers and find the true woman underneath. But as they grow closer, his stalker grows bolder. Can Jordan convince Edie they have something real, or will the danger keep them apart—permanently?

Great mysterious read...in my opinion, the best of the series so far. Loved Jordan and Edie together and enjoyed getting to know a bit more about Edie's history. The mystery side of things kept me guessing. Definitely recommend.

This story had me mesmerized. Both Jordan and Edie are fascinating characters that you can’t help wanting to know more about. Having mutual friends means they have met before, but they haven’t really gotten to know each other, and if Edie has her way, they won’t. Both are attracted to each other, but Edie doesn’t want to be attracted to a guy all women flock towards and makes sure to keep her distance from him. Jordan does like the ladies, but isn’t looking for commitment. His player ways are the reason he now has a stalker. Jordan wants to just ignore the situation, but his good friend Dean has a feeling that things are about to turn nasty. He persuades Edie, who is former military and rather intimidating when she wants to be, to pretend to be Jordan’s girlfriend. She agrees to be Jordan’s pretend girlfriend for Dean’s sake, not Jordan’s.

Jordan thinks having Edie as a pretend might not be so bad until she tells there will be no touching or making out. Jordan vows to himself to see just how far he can push their pretend relationship. He wants nothing more than to get a taste of Edie. Their story is at times a battle of wills and at other times rather emotional as Edie’s own personal struggles come to light. The story has some snarky banter, steamy interludes and some unexpected twists. Neither is really prepared for the deeper feelings or the connection between them. Could these two actually have a future together?

I loved this book just as much as I loved the previous two, if not more. Edie is a woman of many sides. She is tough, intimidating and can hold her own. Then she has a softer, more vulnerable side that she tries to keep hidden. Jordan is the perfect guy for her. He sees the real person, even when she does her best to hide and deny it. Together they can face anything.

I highly recommend this book and the two previous books. They are all great reads.

This one will suck you in from the very first page, it's such an enjoyable read. Jordan and Edie had met before when he was down in Costa Rica visiting his friend Dean. In his opinion Edie didn't like him. But the reality was that Edie didn't want to like him. When Edie comes to stay with Jordan to help him with his stalker issue and as they spend time together, they realize they are attracted to each other but uncertain if the other one is feeling the same thing. When they finally open up about their feelings let the angst and emotions come out. When Edie has a nightmare about her time in the military, Jordan doesn't let her run and hide from it. When she finally opens up to him and lets him in, man those are some emotional pages. How Jordan responds to her opening up, couldn't have been better.
As the stalker becomes bolder and more dangerous, they bring in their friends from Costa Rica to help. It's great having Dean, Asher, Ford and the whole gang be part of helping them finally stop this stalker. Who the stalker ends up being and how that all comes to a conclusion, is quite interesting.
This series just keeps getting better with each book. So far Jordan's Journey is my favorite but I'm looking forward to Sam's book next. If I could give this one more than 5 stars, I would do it. You don't want to miss out on this great read!!

I received an ARC copy of this book.

This was a fantastic story that kept me on the edge in wanting to know what was going to happen next. Jordan and Edie are both strong characters who seem to like each other but don’t want to let them know so they pretend to dislike each other. I found these characters to be so likeable and entertaining. Jordan has been getting notes left on his car, and each note seems to be different each time. When he talks to his friend Dean who is in Costa Rica, he recommends that Jordan finds himself a girlfriend. Jordan thinks about Edie who he was attracted to when he was down in Costa Rica.
Jordan and Edie have an explosive relationship in the sense that they are both attracted to each other, but can’t help rubbing each other up the wrong way. Dean send Edie to help Jordan. Having her close by seems to escalate the threats towards Jordan, and they discover deceased person while they’re out hiking. When they come up with the idea of getting married, the threat becomes more dangerous when Jordan is taken and Edie is injured in an explosion. All of their friends really around them to find Jordan and eventually everything works out and they enjoy a happily ever after. But once they are reunited again, their friend Sam needs their help.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.

Jordan's Journey is an exciting, mysterious read!
I think this is my favorite in The Wagner Brigade Series so far.
Jordan met Edie when he went to visit his best friend in Costa Rica. He found her attractive, but she wanted nothing to do with him.
Edie is ex Army and now runs her own surf shop in Costa Rica.
Jordan owns his own busy garage, and is a bit of a ladies man, he doesn't want a commitment. When he find himself with a stalker, he tells his best friend Dean.
Dean confides in Edie about the stalker and suggests she go stay with Jordan and pretend to be his girlfriend. Hoping it will get the stalker to back off.
Edie & Jordan have major chemistry, and bicker like an old married couple.
Edie starts helping out at the garage while she is staying with Jordan, and notices there are quite a few women who are interested in him.
As they grow closer, and become intimate, they realize they want to be together.
The stalker starts to get more aggressive now that Edie is around, and women Jordan dated end up missing. They get the police involved and get help from their friends finding the stalker.
Edie & Jordan's relationship grows to be much more than lust, and they decide to get married to draw the stalker out, but this pushes the stalker off the deep end.
This was such an exciting read. I can't wait for more in the series.

Jordan’s Journey by @ashleyaquinn.writer

ARC provided by the author and I happily give my honest opinion.

Jordan met Edie while he was helping a friend and when he needs help with a stalker Edie seems like the perfect person to play his fake girlfriend.

He was attracted to her from the start, but she seemed to have the wrong impression of him and was also fighting her attraction to him.

When her friend asks her to help she can’t say no and sets out to get rid of his stalker.

Jordan thinks he knows who is stalker is, but things aren’t always as simple as they look and Edie and Jordan take their relationship to new levels in order to draw out the culprit.

Things heat up with the stalker but also with Edie and Jordan.

Theirs is a pretty fast burn story and I liked how she quickly realised that her impression of Jordan was so wrong. He was not the immature playboy she thought he was. He was loving, strong and caring. Jordan always thought Edie was a strong independent woman and she was, but she had her own demons she was dealing with and I loved how supportive he was of her.

There is a lot of action in this story and it has a nice place. I did see a bit of the story coming, but it didn’t take anything away from the story.

Jordan's Journey is the third book in The Wagner Brigade series by Ashley Quinn. Although it is part of a series, you can read this as a standalone novel. This was definitely my favorite of the series so far! I loved getting to see Jordan's love story!

Jordan is having some women trouble.....that is, one of his past conquests has decided to stalk and harass him by leaving notes on his car. His friend Dean worries that she is escalating, so he comes up with a plan to help ward off this troublesome female. Edie comes into town to pose as his fake girlfriend, although she doesn't really care for Jordan as a person. They have butted heads in the past, but she agrees to help as a favor to Dean. As they try to ward off the stalker, they discover they have developed affection for one another and the sparks fly.

What I really enjoyed about this story is that it is so much more than just a romance story. It is filled with mystery and intrigue and leaves you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns. I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down! I am a sucker for a good love story weaved with a good mystery, and this one definitely didn't disappoint!

Jordan’s Journey is the 3rd book in the Wagner Brigade series and can be read as a stand-alone but, best enjoyed with character building from the other books. If you like fake dating, mystery & suspense, romance, and military, this is the book for you!

Jordan is receiving love notes on his car all over town from a stalker. He confides in his friend, Dean (read book 2 if you haven’t!), who suggests a fake girlfriend to scare the stalker off. As the notes continue, Dean asks his friend, Edie, to fly from Costa Rica to help Jordan. Edie is former army and decides to assist Jordan in his female problems since Dean seems worried. She arrives and stays with Jordan, even helping out at his mechanic shop. The notes escalate and the stalker starts to lash out. Meanwhile, on a hike the couple finds remains and calls police to report it. During the investigation, police discovered Jordan’s number with the remains and he becomes a suspect in her murder. Edie and her army family take on the case and help investigate. All the time spent together makes Jordan and Edie’s relationship evolve. Can they figure out who the stalker is and clear Jordan’s name?

Jordan has his hands full. His girl Friday has left, business is busy and Ford is still trying to convince him to move to Costa Rica. What else could tip his house of cards? Someone leaving strange notes and they're getting more threatening by the day. Ford decides to send someone to help. The front door opens and it's Edie, the redhead spitfire he hasn't been able to stop thinking about walks in. And we're off.

I have to admit I couldn't put it down and finished ii in one day. I enjoyed watching Edie and Jordan dance around each other, while working on unearthing Jordan's stalker.

Eventually things heat up and Edie called in Ford and the brigade. Very enjoyable book and would recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrill ride with time for a romance.

I am anxiously waiting fr the next story in the Brigrade Family.

I was a little worried about reading this book as it is book 3 in the Wagner Brigade Series, but this is a fantastic standalone with a slight interconnection with other books, but didn't take away from any part of this story and I didn't feel like I missed any important backstory. It did make me want to read the other books for sure though!
I enjoyed this story so much! Jordan finds himself with a stalker and when mutual friend, Dean, enlists the help of ex-military woman, Edie and they embark on a fake relationship to draw the stalker out. As they spend time together it gets harder to deny the sparks between them and as they get to really know each other, they realize it's more than lust and they have real feelings for one another. Just as they are ready to take a leap together, the stalker really ramps things up and it gets a little dicey for our couple.
I loved the bickering, banter, spicey parts and the suspense of it all. I'm glad I took a chance jumping in mid series and will be reading the first two asap and waiting for more from Ashley Quinn!

Jordan’s Journey is totally bangin! This action-filled, emotional thrill ride pulls us into the lives of Jordan and Edie, two very complex characters that complement each other in the best of ways! Jordan is and independent, self-sufficient, respectful small town mechanic, and Edie is a traumatized military veteran with a protective streak a mile wide. When Jordan’s stalker ups the ante, Edie flies to the rescue at her friend’s behest. Watching Jordan and Edie bond as they fight their growing feelings and try to decipher what’s really threatening Jordan is by turns fascinating, fun, funny, emotionally gripping, steamy, and super sweet. Their antics and the plot twists kept me on the edge and wanting more. I also love how the author worked in a sneak peek at what we can anticipate in her next novel. I absolutely adore Ashley Quinn’s writing, the plot twists, and the rich and complex world full of unique characters. This whole series is a must read!

Loved this book! Actually the whole series has been fantastic but this was a bit different and I truly enjoyed it.

This was about Jordan, a mechanic who was having stalker issues from an unknown woman. Edie decides to go help him by acting as his girlfriend.

This really was a special book. The attraction displayed by Edie was really great as they both initially hated each other but she was still willing to help. I really liked that about her character. The connection they developed was sweet.

When the other guys turned up to help, that team spirit gets me every time. Always loved that part.

Such a great book, so well written and I enjoy these guys and their girls. Their protective streaks shouldn't be missed.

Highly recommended and can't wait for more!!.

Jordan and Edie were attracted to each other from the moment they met. Unfortunately, he's a player. Or is he? Edie thinks he is. But that isn't enough to stop her from helping Jordan out when his stalker escalates. And what she finds as she spends more time with him is so different from her first impression.

I loved these two and how their relationship progressed throughout the story. Edie has been trying to control her emotions since an incident in the Army and the more she is around Jordan the more those walls are coming down. Jordan may not have had the best childhood or the best parents, but he is a standup guy with a strong moral code.

There is plenty of suspense and danger, humor, interesting characters, and a strong team to provide back up when needed with some surprising twists toward the end.

Wonderful read!! Edie has a past that she is running from. Memories from her time in the service. She doesn't want to get close to anyone because of those memories. Jordan has an issue with a stalker. He assumes that he knows who it is. Dean is Jordan's best friend and is worried so he employs the help of Edie to protect Jordan, solve the mystery by playing Jordan's girlfriend.

On paper Jordan and Edie are opposites but as time goes on they gel and find that they compliment each other. Edie showing up as Jordan's girlfriend angers the stalker and causes her behaviors to escalate. Putting Evie and Jordan in danger. The stalker is not who we all think!

I am more of a sports romance reader but Ashley has pulled me in with her very well written suspense. I truly believe that you will love this series if you just give it a shot!

Jordan’s happy with his life; well he would be if he could just catch his stalker in the act. His friends in Costa Rica send Edie his way to see if a faux relationship will flush the stalker out. As they set the scene they both have to admit that Jordan’s teasing and Edie’s angst has more meaning to it.
Unfortunately the stalker is someone no one saw coming, and as they have help, It will take Jordan’s friends, and some unexpected officials to ensure that the pair gets a chance to have their HEA.
Loved the banter between the two, Edie certainly holds her own. With a good twist too it’s certainly a read that keeps your attention.

This story is so good you won’t be able to put it down. Jordan has been receiving what started as love notes (poems) that have become more aggressive. He tells Dean about it and Dean said not to take these notes lightly. Dean sends Edie up to Jordan and they play the role that she is his girlfriend. Jordan and Edie met is Costa Rica when he went down to see Dean. They put off the vibes that they didn’t care for each other but now maybe the truth will come out that there were feelings they didn’t show. Now that the word is out about his having a girlfriend, everything really starts to escalate. So much to this story and you won’t be disappointed.

Cute read but also has suspense and mystery. Good banter between the main characters. The MMC was a good balance of confident but not cocky and had a good understanding of the FMC and how to get her to give him a shot without being over the top. Sometimes the language was repetitive and the descriptions of events or actions weren't very unique. However, there was an interesring twist. You get an inkling that the main conflict won't be as straight forward as it seems but it's not so obvious you lose the tension. I would have loved if there were more scenes showing the fake relationship. There was a lot of room to build some tension and have cute awkward moments that weren't utilized to their full potential.
All in all, it's a great read and makes me interested in learning more.

Finished this romantic suspense book today and it was fantastic!

Jordan lives in Arizona and owns his own garage. He has a great life but there’s one problem: he has a stalker who’s been leaving him love notes and they’re slowly escalating and becoming threatening.

Edie lives in Costa Rica when she gets a call from Jordan’s best friend, Dean. He has a plan. Travel to Arizona and fake date him to help scare off Jordan’s stalker.

She agrees and things start escalating. How far will his stalker go to claim him?

This is an enemies to lovers romantic suspense and I really loved it! It’s part of a series, so definitely check out the rest. Thank you Ashley Quinn for the ARC!

Jordan and Edie were so much fun to read about as they are opposites. Jordan is a hard working man who is a friendly guy who likes to help. Edie is hard working as well but due to her past in the army, is closed off and not as open to other people like Jordan is.

These two come together as Jordan deals with a stalker and Edie goes to help him figure out what is going on. While working together they fake a relationship that eventually becomes real. Of course things are not easy as they have to deal with the stalker and a murder that is practically being pinned on Jordan.

If all this sounds interesting or intriguing, then read Jordan’s Journey for yourself.

Edie and Jordan have great chemistry! I think that is a theme in this series!!! This book kept me glued from the beginning to the end.

Edie is content with her life, sun and surf, what more could you want, right? Jordan shows up with a serious stalker problem and Edie helps, by pretending they are in a relationship. As they spend time together, Jordan is finding himself wanting it to be real and not fake but he isn’t sure Edie will allow anyone to get inside and see her behind the walls she has up.

Ashley Quinn is becoming a must read author for me.

Jordan’s Journey by Ashley Quinn kept me glued to the pages right from the start!
I loved Jordan and Edie and It’s great to meet up with characters from previous books!
The plot is very well done and I couldn’t put it down because I wanted to see how the story with the stalker would develop.
You can read it as a standalone but I recommend to read the other books because of reappearing characters and just because they are all awesome books!
I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion

- Romantic suspense
- Enemies to lovers
- Close proximity
- Fake relationship
- Protector

I really enjoyed this book that was a twist on the protector trope. In this book, the MMC Jordan has a former girlfriend who is obsessed with him and the FMC Edie is a veteran who helps him by posing as his girlfriend.

The only problem? Edie does not like Jordan at all when they meet. As they spend more time together, will that change? And will their plan backfire when the girlfriend escalates her efforts to gain Jordan's attention?

Not your typical stalker romance, when Jordan an easy going great looking ladies starts receiving stalker notes his Friend Dean decides to intervene. The mutual friend they have Edie would move in to Jordan’s to be a pretend girlfriend. Jordan wants more and Edie is in denial! Not only do we have fake relationship but a huge turn took place and they are trying to be pinned on Jordan. Will Edie and Jordan actually have a chance? What is being pinned on Jordan? I promise you, you will want to read this!

Jordan is having a stalker, and he needs some help. One of his friends suggests having a fake girlfriend so the stalker moves away from him.
Edie accepts the role of being Jordan’s fake girlfriend. There is a sweet and hot undercurrent between them. Edie has nightmares from her last deployment and Jordan helps her with her pain and terror.
A wonderful story that is full of action, mystery, suspense and intrigue. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one go.

In my opinion you cannot go wrong with a feisty, fierce female character and Edie is it in this one. Then we have Jordan, a handsome hunk with a major stalker problem. It seems that all the single ladies in this Arizona town would just love to get their HEA with Jordan. This book was both fun and suspenseful. I always love how Ashley weaves in the characters from the prior books in the series. Well done!

I loved this twist on the typical stalker story. The male character is the one with the stalker and Edie is the kicka** heroine to the rescue. As a favor to a friend, Edie agrees to a fake relationship with Jordan, who is convinced a rejected one night stand is responsible for notes being left for him. When the stalker become dangerous, it is Edie that is in the crosshairs and the suspense will keep you fully engaged in the story.

Jordan and Edie knew each other. Edie thought Jordan was a womanizer and a jerk.
Jordan liked Edie, but didn't know why she didn't like him. Come to find out it was a huge misunderstanding.

Jordan had a stalker and he needed help. Edie came up to be his "girlfriend" to figure this all out. Trying to figure out what is happening and figure out a relationship becomes complicated.
This was a great read.

Jordan's is being stalked by a past lover, and as she is getting bolder, his friend Edie comes from Costa Rica to help him with his problem. As they are getting closer and open up to each other, they develop feelings but neither one is ready to admit it to the other in case it is not mutual. But posing as Jordan's girlfriend will have the stalker escalade even more and put their lives in danger. Edgy, suspenseful, a story that will grab you from the first to the last page.
