Ladies Night

Rate this book
Amp Anthony is strong-willed, ruggedly handsome, with a body that women will pay just to look at. He is also a recently freed felon. It's not easy to make things whole again under the rules of the halfway house to which he's been released, especially since his parole officer would like nothing more than to send him back to prison. Amp is bound and determined to make sure that will never happen.
Like most felons, Amp has a hell of a time finding and keeping a job because of his record. When all else fails, he uses his body, letting women look for a price. If they're willing to pay more, they can even touch. Under the supervision of savvy club owner Madam Fox, Amp becomes one of the hottest male exotic dancers at Club Eden.
Everything is strictly business until the club's attractive female DJ catches Amp's attention. Will either one of them be able to avoid the taboo of mixing business with pleasure?
Ladies Night is an intense, thrilling, scandalous, and, at times, funny look at the transition of Amp Anthony from ex-con to exotic dancer, as he struggles to put the pieces of his life back together and escape the past that put him in prison in the first place.

4 1/2 "🎵I'm in love with a Stripper.🎵"

Oh my goodness! I loved this book. I went in with zero expectations and got a fantastic reading experience. Amp was just released from prison for a crime he actually did commit but he was truly remorseful for. From the start, I loved that he never made excuses for himself. Being a felon obviously made getting a job where he could get on his feet very hard but he never quit trying. He took sound advise. He was continually trying to improve his circumstances... In walks opportunity... Ladies Night! 💵 🕺🏾 💵🕺🏾 💵 🕺🏾 💵 I just loved Amp. He certainly had a lot of challenges, but he gone be alright. I enjoyed meting all the other dancers in the club, the other staff, and their enigmatic leader, Madam. I hope more of them get their stories told. The one thing I missed in this story was a focused romance. Amp and someone definitely have a connection but I wouldn't really say it was a romance. But then again, it may have been perfect being that way. Amp has some personal goals to achieve before he can focus on another person. Anywho, as you can tell. I loved this story. Happy reading!

I am disappointed. The plot moves slow, and there’s a lot of telling. I listened to thirty minutes of Amp doing mundane tasks around the house and a chunk of backstory all clumped up in a gigantic paragraph. Just watch all the queens men, it gets straight to the action.

Screw magic mike. If anything they need to make this book a movie. I would pay to see this man doing any type of dancing. I did not even know that this man even wrote books. Well I found out today. The book of the week is Ladies Night by Christian Keyes. He can sing, he can act, and now I just learned he could write. Now all I need to know is, is he single? Umm
The story starts off with a man named Amp who just got out of prison and has turned his life around. He ends up living in a halfway house and meets his warden named Paul. Amp already has plans for his future and one of them involve finding a job that makes adequate money. No he doesn’t find that first he actually finds a job working at this little one stop shop. To me Amp was kind and considerate and a hard worker I mean he didn’t step on no one’s toes.
Things don’t go so well at the shop and ends up finding this place called Club Eden and you meet a woman named Madam Foxx. Not Fox but Foxx. Two xx’s. He ends up just being the bouncer of this joint, just checking id and letting the women. Then things take a real turn and he ends up stripping at this joint for real and the whole time I’m thinking where the hell is this club? Now most of the characters you meet are from this club and you also read a little bit about Madam’s story as well which I thought was a good second to reading just Amp’s story.
Amp is not without some drama in his life and finds himself being tested time and time again. He also finds a little spark with the DJ of the club which I thought was good. It wasn’t hot and heavy or even steamy it was really just a love story. You also see him form this really good friendship with Paul and step up when it came to Madam’s financial situation. You even see him confronting the reason why he went to prison in the first place and just growing into the man he wanted to be.
All in all, this was a very well-balanced story. I enjoyed it. My favorite part was when Amp had to learn some moves when he decided to start his little venture into the world of Club Eden and I got to tell you, he wouldn’t have had to do any dancing with me. Just stand there looking scrumptious, he could have all my money. I will see you guys next Tuesday.

♡ stripper hero
♡ DJ heroine
♡ found family

This is one of the books that has been on my Audible+ TBR for a while. All I needed to know was that the hero was a stripper and I was intrigued. What I wasn't expecting was to get a better understanding of just how hard it is for those who have been recently released from prison to get a legitimate job. The expectations and predjudices. I loved how determined and resilient the hero was, he was one of those heroes who is so obviously such. a good person, you can't help but like him and feel sorry for him because of his situation and disadvantages. It was inspiring watching him fight for what he wanted against a system that so obviously set up for failure. I also loved the relationship he developed with the man who ran the halfway house. I loved how they inspired each other. The romance was definitely secondary to everything else happening in this book, but I was 100& ok with it. The only downside I could find was that it felt a bit disjointed as it jumped from character to character sometimes, I did wish it stuck with just the main characters, but that was a pretty minor thing.

Triggers: racism, prejudice

Good 1st novel. I thought I come back and add some details. This is about a young man released from prison and determined to do what it takes not to go back. He is haunted by his mistake but he finally faces his past. In the meantime he uses his good looks to make some easy money.

Interesting

If you want a break from reading about drugs and killing this would be a good book for you. I wouldn't read it again but it was a good read.

This was my first Christian Keys book and it was awesome. I loved the story. His reality and outlook on past and present was phenomenal. We can’t change the mistakes from our past but the future is ours. If life gives you a second chance, take it and make the best of it. Great read!

Job well done Mr. Keyes!!! In the book we were introduced to Amp whose bad decision caused him to become a convicted felon. I actually liked the fact that he was so strong will and determined not to go back to prison. I thought for sure Paul would be a hard ass but once he saw the potential Amp possessed, he realized he wasn't like those that normally entered the halfway house. I see Brad was jokey but knew not to push Amp too much. Once finding a job after being let down by not only his appearance, but also his record, I was glad not only Mr. Lam but also Madam gave him a job. I can honestly say I was mad at dude for causing Amp to have problems with Mr. Lam! Wow Mr. Barnett was on that shady mess. Good thing Paul followed his first mind because it sure helped Amp. Ooohhh Black Magic had the ladies going wild. I was glad Amp threw caution to the wind and focused on saving his money as long as he was doing it the legal way. Dime seemed like a good chick and once getting to know Amp, not once was she ever judgemental. Amp finally got up enough courage to face his past. Patrice didn't surprise me at all when she saw Amp but it was good to know Shannon forgave him so he could stop beating himself up. Now that ladies night auction was epic and it showed just how much the guys were willing to step up and help Madam when she needed it the most. I don't know why but I didn't like Jesse even though he wasn't mentioned too much. All in all, Amp did what was necessary to keep his life on track and finally stopped focusing on the past. Hopefully there will be a part 2 to see how things unfold with Dime, will he reconnect with his family, will be decide to pursue his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur, and last but not least will he continue to participate in ladies night. Can't wait for the movie and to see what else Christian has in store!

Club Eden (book 1)

The synopsis really didn't fit the book, nor did the title. This book should have been title Club Eden. The book did not focus on just the "main character". There were three chapters on three other characters of the club. In fact, the next book is titled after one of the other dancers. The summary should have stated being about the people who work at this club and then on an emphasis on Amp. The dancing was a nightly thing not just on certain nights. So why the name Ladies Night?
I was not into the authors style of writing. At times, there is a loss of focus. There is some rambling, drawing away from what is happening at the time. There was not nearly the amount of conflict that the synopsis leads the reader to expect.
There were quite a few typos that needs to get fixed.
All in all,it was not a bad book. It just needs a little tweaking.

I read a lot. In the majority of the books I've read the protagonists are caucasian. I very much enjoy reading about accomplished people of color. M. Malone does a great job writing about both. With that said, I really like this story. It was short, which made it somewhat predictable, but still good. The characters were flawed but they also had character. The lingo used was authentic without being over the top. I wouldn't mind reading more about Dime and Amp or Madam and Marcus or Paul for that matter. I look forward to more from this author.

This was a quick easy read. The storyline was good. The writing was good. The 3 is more so because I like a lot more drama, sex, and suspense and I feel like the plot left plenty of room for that and it wasn’t there. But it was still good. It kept my attention. For those who like kind of urban contemporary as far as the style, but prefer not to read a bunch of vulgarity, this would be a good choice for you. I would read more from this author.

Well I must say, this book was actually pretty good. I kept thinking that he killed the person, but thenbhad to think he only got four and a half years. It was pretty great that she was able to forgive him for what he had did. You learn Paul's story as well and also get to learn a little about the other dancers and Madame.

Great read....

I'm giving this book five stars for several reasons. I follow Mr. Keyes on social media and I think that his story is an amazing one. He didn't have the best childhood but he didn't let that stop him. He's a down to earth person and I can tell that he loves God and gives Him all credit. He's such a great human. He had a dream of turning this book into a movie. 2021, he comes out with All The Queen's Men (favor)! The book was well written and I would love to see what happens with Amp and Dime...with all the characters.

My daughter turned me on to the BET Plus series called All the Queen's Men which was based for the most part on this book. I loved what they did with the series, it was very addicting. I think that with a book, the best way to capture the nuances is to make it a series. When they try to make it into a movie, so much is cut out and lost in translation. There were a few main changes from the book to the series but for the most part, the storyline was true to form. The series however is way more spicy, whew!

This makes you ask a question. what people will do with me have no other choice. Even still you can still have standards in integrity. It's about temptation starting over and keeping a positive mindset in life. You got to start somewhere, right? It's not about what you do is how you do it. To the Arthur, keep up the good work You should keep writing more series. maybe continue the main characters his journey? The movie is great but the book is always better because of depth detail in imagination.

3.75 I really enjoyed the build up of the story where we were following the main character. Being that I listened to this on audio it’s hard to pinpoint at what percentage the smut came in. But I wasn’t a fan. I felt like it was a complete unnecessary turn. The author introduced new POV’s to help carry out the plot of the book and it took me out of the story just a little bit. But it was still well written despite my personal taste. And the story came together well.

Ladies Night is All the Queen’s Men.

Read this because I love the tv show (series) All the Queen’s Men. The show is definitely better but the book is still enjoyable. The book is light and fluffy. I’ll read the second one in the series so I can continue to compare it to the show. Also, congrats to Christian Keys for being the original creator of the story, the author, the model on the book cover, the creator of the tv show, the screenplay writer, the executive producer, and an actor in the show. I’ve never seen one person do so much. 😂

Audiobook

Not exactly what I had in mine, but the book was good.

I selected this not reading the summary, but seeing the cover of the silhouetted man striking a sexy pose and it was listed under romance. Ugh! Sexy romance books with people of color are practically non-existent, but I love a good hot romance either way.

Good Easy Read

Ladies Night is a nice read, with slight twists and turns. I love the fact that Amp got himself together and took responsibility. I rated it three stars because the ending felt rushed compared to the beginning, and I wish there were more details about the characters and the settings.
