Another great read from Peter David who has become such a reliable writer and I’m more than happy to try anything with him attached. I this one similar to Hulk Omnibus vol 5 is a series of miniseries that flesh out the Maestro and his world which all kinda turn out the same. A big punch up with villains that double and triple cross each other. Don’t let that turn you off though, the self referential nature of David’s writing gives comic fans and further fans of his Hulk stories more than enough enjoyment from these issues.

Super fun story

A Hulk that has lost control and is going on a rampage would mean widespread DESTRUCTION. But a Hulk that has his mental faculties and is an experienced, ruthless strategist? That would mean widespread DOMINATION.
Ever since his first appearance in Future Imperfect where it is revealed after an atomic war Maestro Hulk killed all the superheroes, I've been a big fan of this speculative 'bad ending' character. It was the coolest thing ever to see that in his trophy room, Maestro not only has a collection of memorabilia from all the Marvel heroes he's killed... but he also happens to have SUPERMAN'S CAPE hanging up on display?? That's a story that we'd love to hear but will never get told.
The subsequent mini-series are really strong too. I may return and update my review once I do a re-read of the Maestro Hulk stuff. What an excellent collected edition.

Some of this material I had already, so fans of the Maestro character should pay extra attention to the contents. Since I bought this omnibus for a steep discount, the cost was worth it to acquire the Future Imperfect story and a few scattered issues throughout both Maestro’s early appearances and the M-War story arc. The only real low point in this volume is the last story, The Abominations, which Marvel editorial also seem to take little pride in since its contents do not work in the continuity of the other stories. I feel that last story is only included for completionism’s sake but the subpar quality feels all the worse following so many higher quality stories set in the backdrop of Dystopia.

A bit of double-dipping with some of the earlier Hulk paperbacks and omnibus editions, but there's no denying the high quality of the Peter David stories, especially the original Future Imperfect illustrated by the late George Perez. And it's nicely convenient to have all the Maestro stories collected together in a single volume.

Peter David on the Hulk was one of the best sequences the title has experienced.
His imagining and delving into the Maestro aspect were added bonuses.
This Omnibus is a great read.
It could easily have done without the last few added issues which did nothing but drag down the overall quality of the package.

If your a hulk fan, this is an absolute must have, the only real issue is the captain marvel comics aren’t very good and they are pretty slow and abominations 1-3 is meh but aside from those two things,it’s almost perfect

Was a great story. Some of it stories put together were slower then others, some were really good. I think there was more information, and story needed to show how Hulk becomes this character.
