The world is facing a serious Loneliness. The US Surgeon General describes this in his 2023 report as “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation.” CNN’s article entitled “WHO Makes Loneliness a Global Health Priority with New Commission on Social Connection” discusses how the World Health Organization is making loneliness a priority. At the same time, the Harvard Happiness Study emphasizes that the #1 factor in happiness is quality relationships. This is quite a contrast. Relationships are critical to happiness, and yet people are experiencing unprecedented levels of loneliness. CPR in this book discusses how Caring, Praying, and Reaching out to others can build social connections and bless more people more. About 2,000 years ago, this issue was also addressed by Jesus, “when he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Jesus responded to this need by saying, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” CPR & CPR+ provide simple tools for addressing the first problem of loneliness in the world and the second problem, which is a growing lack of workers and leaders in both the ministry world and the marketplace world.
Put CPR & CPR+ to use, and you can both bless more people more and develop people around you.
