Mais um volume da famigerada coleção Lendas Marvel, em que é difícil a gente encontrar histórias que seja legais para valer. Elas lidam com a nostalgia, provando que a lembrança afetiva nem sempre é um bom motivo para se achar boas histórias. Ou, como diz um amigo, essa é a coleção Retiro dos Artistas, porque só traz artistas das antigas requentando histórias velhas. E, convenhamos, as sagas de Guerras Secretas não são lá bem famosas por serem boas histórias, não é mesmo? Esta história aqui, escrita por Tom DeFalco e desenhada por Pat Oliffe (a dupla de Garota-Aranha), promete contar um acontecimento que rolou entre dois quadros da minissérie original, envolvendo o Homem-Aranha e o Tocha Humana, que se encontram com três personagens que não estavam na trama original: o Falcão, o Demolidor e o Homem de Gelo. Mas o resultado, na minha opinião, é ainda aquém à minissérie principal. Ou seja, mais uma HQ que vai rodar no sebo.

Sacada la historia del trasero de Tom de Falco para encajar por la fuerza con su prededesesora y sacar provecho del título o concepto de Secret Wars para vender comics, de los personajes originales de la historia son Spider-Man Human Torch y The Absorbing Man.

Ahora sumándose al conflicto con nuevos personajes basados con las figuras de Mattel que no aparecieron en el original Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #1-12 (1984) como Daredevil (se sintió desaprovechado como personaje), Falcon, Ice-Man, Hobgoblin, Baron Zemo, Elecktro y Constrictor.

Para mi faltaron mujeres ya sea como eye candy para ser pin up o darles más profundidad a la trama infantil que fue, pero ese es mi punto de vista y mis gustos.

Debieron usar más personajes si es una guerra como Wolverine, Hulk, Cyclops, Rogue, Titania, Lizard o Molecule Man,

Estos cuatro números solo fueron para el lucimiento del symbiote y spider-man, ellos dos estaban siendo estudiados en un una prueba.

La escritura es para niños con sus dialogos de casi todos los personajes. Siempre hay potencial en estas historias pero llega a solo a ser entretenidas, lo bueno fue que la lectura fue rápida y te demora no mucho tiempo invertido en esto.

The whole point of this miniseries is to fully bring the Secret Wars toy line together with the Secret Wars comic.

Yes, it's the 40th anniversary in 2024, but do we REALLY need to tie up this loose thread? They don't even end the comic definitively. They're hoping nostalgia kicks in and people want to read more about this dead end comic.

Save your money and enjoy the original Secret Wars. You don't need to finally come to terms with Baron Zemo being an action figure, but not in the OG comic.

Not good. I’m a hopeless (old) fan of the original 1980s Secret Wars series and it was kind of nostalgic to read this new story set in that “same” environment. But man, this story couldn’t be less impactful if it tried. It’s fundamentally an “it was all a dream” episode of your favorite TV show.

Another big problem is how hateful all the non-Spidey good guys were. I don’t think I’m supposed to believe their minds were altered beyond being convinced that killing Spidey is necessary for the survival of the human race, yet they were seemingly doing it with no qualms.

Whatever the opposite of “Excelsior” is, that’s what I have to say.

I didn't actually read this electronic edition; just can't find the physical trade paperback version here. As a big fan of the '84 series (still one of my favorite comic storylines I've ever read), the similar look intrigued me, wondering how characters left out of that series would work. It was just okay; too much review of previous issues (for only a 4-issue run), too talkative (even compared to the wordiness of the original), too "easy" to get out of jams.

A bit formulaic, but fun, with some terrific banter between the characters, as our band of heroes are forced to take part in an "experiment" battling a team of villains all while an alien race watches...and records.
