Research Methods and Statistics: A Critical Thinking Approach

Rate this book
RESEARCH METHODS AND A CRITICAL THINKING APPROACH, 4e, successfully illustrates the integration between statistics and research methods by demonstrating the ways to use statistics in analyzing data collected during research. Jackson's combined text adopts an inviting narrative style that speaks directly to students and draws them into the material, helping them overcome the initial apprehension they may feel at having to learn both subject areas at once. She incorporates a student-friendly critical-thinking approach and presents examples and exercises to which students can relate. Jackson focuses on the logic of the process and the methodology aspect of research.Important Media content referenced within the product description or the product text may not be available in the ebook version.

Specifically set for statistics within psychology.
Many of the methods used in here are being phased out, such as the manual calculations of t-tests and the inclusion and rejection of the null hypothesis. Still, a very easy guide to statistics.

Yes, I am counting my textbook as part of my 2021 reading challenge. To be fair, I read the whole thing cover to cover. 😂

Research Methods and Statistics by Sherri L. Jackson was a valuable resource during my time in grad school. While it may not be the most exciting read, it excels in making complex topics clear and understandable. Jackson's narrative style makes the material surprisingly easy to digest, which is a huge plus when tackling challenging subjects. Overall, a highly effective tool.
