Rate this book
The Headley Cross marathon has been held every year since it was founded in 1983. This time, as well as the full run, a half marathon is being offered, and preparations are well under way.

DS Zander Ellery and DC Isabel York have a hectic caseload and could well do without the squad having to run the marathon. When the race is threatened, they and the other members of the MIU/Major Crimes are tasked with neutralizing the threat.

As the day of the race draws near, with ten thousand runners due to take to the streets, time to find the culprit is running out. Lives are at stake, and Ellery and York must succeed in winning this race.

Clare is a British Christian author. She lives in a small town just outside Reading, England with her husband, whom she married in 1992, their two of their three grown up children, unfriendly mini-panther, aka Tilly the cat and new addition Ty the dog.
Clare is half English and half Welsh, which makes watching rugby interesting at times as it doesn’t matter who wins.
Writing from an early childhood and encouraged by her teachers, she graduated from rewriting fairy stories through fan fiction to using her own original characters and enjoys writing an eclectic mix of romance, crime fiction and children's stories. When she's not writing, she can be found reading, crocheting or doing the many piles of laundry the occupants of her house manage to make.
Her books are based in the UK, with a couple of exceptions, thus, although the spelling may be American in some of them, the books contain British language and terminology and the more recent ones are written in UK English.
The first draft of every novel is hand written.
She has been a Christian for more than half her life. She goes to Carey Baptist where she is one of four registrars.

This had all the different types of crime as it follows DS Zander Ellery and DC Isabel York and the calls they answer.
The two plot lines are Isabel's personal life and her and her partners' work life, which both are as chaotic as they get.
The whole book I'm trying to figure out who inside their life is the mole because it HAS to be someone.
**if you read this comment who you think and why. I need to see others' perspectives 😅
The story leaves you with a need to read the next book because you have to know what happens.
I found there was good character development, a satisfying ending, and excellent unpredictability. There is some faith base in this as the main characters are religious and participate in church.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this.

Clare Revell holds nothing back with nail biter… See How They Run tugs at all the emotions: terror and joy, revulsion and hope, dread and anticipation, and every other pairing you could imagine. I dare you to try and set it down once you’ve started reading!
Isabel York and Boaz are due to be married soon. The only thing other than their lives that could get in the way of their happily ever after is their work. And, of course, since they both work for the police force, work does get in the way. Work, old enemies they’d put behind bars, conspiracy at the highest levels, and not one, but four major bomb threats.
The bombs are scheduled, according to the brash anonymous bombers, to go off in such a way as to impact the highly publicized Nursery Rhyme marathon. In order to try and get close to the scenes and protect as many people as possible, Isabel and her team decide to go as three blind mice—hence the apropos title. But time is running out and the clues are falling apart. It looks as if disaster will happen after all.
Be aware, this book ends on a cliffhanger. But it is totally worth the read!

If you like non-stop action, mystery, and suspense, this is the book for you. Police partners Isabel and Zander are dealing with a terrorist threat and a prison break involving a serial killer they’d previously arrested. I haven’t read all the previous books in the series, so I was playing catch up a bit, but still found the book to be edge-of-the-seat intriguing. There’s backstory I may have missed, but I learned everything I needed to get drawn into the story. And boy, was I drawn in! Don’t start this book unless you plan to get See How They Hide right afterwards, because saying it ends on a cliffhanger is an understatement! I’m about to dive right into the sequel to find out what happens next.

It’s hard to say everything I want to about Clare Revell’s See How They Run without giving spoilers, so I will keep it to this: deep, relatable characters, check; compelling plot, check; charming British colloquialisms, check; elements of romance, check; work family vibe, check; family values in line with Biblical principles, check.

The best thing you could do before picking up this book is to go back and read several, if not all, of Revell’s outstanding stories featuring detectives Ellery and York. These characters will become friends to you, heightening your investment in what happens to them.

And did I mention, heart-stopping cliffhanger ending, check.

Police detective Isabel York has a lot on her plate. A citywide marathon has been targeted by a bomb threat. A serial killer is on the loose, and he's leaving clues that don't seem to add up. On top of that her wedding plans seem to be unraveling...
This fast-paced story was filled with many interesting plot twists that kept me reading well into the night. I was invested in the characters from the first page to the last -- which I must say, caught me quite unawares! Now I can't wait to read the follow-up, See How They Hide.
Highly recommended!

What A Cliff-Hanger!

I've been so excited waiting for the release of this new series by Clare Revell. See How They Run is the first book. I love Ms. Revell’s books, and this new one did not disappoint.

Amid the return of the Slayer from Ms. Revell’s previous books, DS Zander Ellery and DC Isabel York are tasked with overseeing the Headley Cross Marathon when threats of violence are received.

While I won’t give away the ending, it was not at all what I expected. I really enjoyed this book, and I can’t wait to read the sequel to see what happens next. Five stars!

Revell packs a powerful punch in her latest romantic suspense. DS Zander and his longtime partner DS York have to solve kidnappings, and a rogue bomber who might be related to a series of murders linked to a former criminal and past boyfriend of Isabel York's.

Is the prayer slayer back? As the Headly Cross marathon ramps up, Zander and Isabel have to up their sleuthing and find a host of bad guys.

All this and Isabel is trying to plan a wedding.

This is the first part of a suspense whodunnit. The cliffhanger at the end will have you grabbing the next book.
