Read the 1st story (OK), flipped thru the second. DNF at the third. Didn't particularly care for the writing style or heroines' characters.

This is a wonderful set of books by Eva Stone. They each deal with a different couple and are completely independant of eachother.
In 'I'll Marry You', Alex, a firefighter, saves a young girl, Julia, who proclaims she will marry him when she grows-up. The story follows Alex's life, how he loved, lost, and learned to love again with the help of a special someone. 😉 it is a touching story of family (both blood and found) and the power of the human spirit.
Next, there's 'My Kiddo, Parrot, and Firefighter'. This is a hilarious, laugh-out-loud rom-com with a comedic firefighter and a single mom with her eye-on-the-prize. Lucy knows exactly what she wants in her next husband (serious, stable, a "suit"). That most definately does not describe Eric, whose laid back, carefree, fun sense of life allows him a break from the high stress job of a first responder firefighter. Despite the attraction he has to Lucy, which he's made abundantly clear, she's friend zoned him. (What she asks of him is just wrong though!!) Will she let Mr. Perfect slip through her fingers?
I got such a chuckle out of 'Harmonies and Heartbeats'. It has a serious side too, but the levity far outweighs the heft. Robert and Lana, new neighbors, go head to head when his dog enjoys accompanying her singing. (Yeah, 😆🤣). Add chasing the cat and spinning in circles and he's a real performer. Robert is a total cinnamon roll, but will Lana ever find the chill pills?
Finally, in 'My Next-Door Neighbor',, Lena is starting over with her 2 kids after her husband went for a newer model (while still driving the old one!). Things aren't looking great when her neighbor, Andrew throws a lifeline. When crisis arises, Lena steps up to help in return. Will their easy friendship blossom into something more?
This set of 4 books was the perfect length to either read in its entirety, or to break down and read individually for a mid-day break. The characters were developed enough that I could understand their reasoning and create a visualization. I will certainly be reading more of Stone's work in the future

Alex is a firefighter and this is the first he's heard this.Years go by and he marries and has two children. Then his wife leaves. Then he meets Jane. He is drawn to her as she slowly infiltrates his life and helps with his children. Will she show him who she really is?

Lucy is taking her son, Jaime, into a pet store to see animals. There she watch's Eric, her next door neighbor, acting corny. When she finds out the parrot she's watching is going to be put down she adopts him. Over the next months Eric makes himself available for her. Then she meets another man and when she thinks she's ready to move on Eric in a round about way stops it. That's when Lucy starts to look at him with eyes open. Will they make a match? The parrot seems to think so.

Lana meets Rober and his dog, Thunder, when the dog sings along with her voice while she's practicing her singing. She is upset because she has a concert coming up and she needs to practice. Then as her neighbor gets a handle on it Thunder decides to "play" with her cat. When she is in danger Rober and Thunder come to her rescue. Will she look at him differently?

Her husband left her when she was pregnant with the youngest and she's trying to do life on her own and it feels like she's losing. Her next door neighbor, Andrew, tries to help her. Beautiful stories. They're short but just right for a pick me up at bedtime to look at the world with open eyes to what's out there if you just look.

My Off-Limits Protector Next Door was too short at under one-hundred pages. Each of the stories had a strong woman who still seemed to need a man in their life. Their neighbors always came to their rescue and I liked how their friendships morphed to more.
One detraction for me, besides the brevity of each story, was that each woman's name started with L - except for Julia/Jane. I enjoyed the stories and how their friendships became more. There was chemistry and attraction. There were also some pets involved that added another layer to the story. I liked how each premise was different and my interest was held from the first page to the last. I do look forward to reading more books by Ms. Stone and liked the cover.

I read the book to the end, although after the second story, which was the same as the first, only with different surnames and different traumas of the characters, I already didn't feel like continuing. Yet, I persevered. These are very shallow stories, with black and white characters, with binary decisions, and decisions of the characters that strike with their naivety (like leaving a 4-month-old child in the care of a neighbor guy she met the day before).
I read it to the end and can calmly recommend the book to those who want happy endings, true love, and do not care much about the aspect of realism.

Suffice to say, these are the perfect cozy little stories for anyone that has little time to spare or in the mood for a super quick read. These are romances that involve single parents, second chances at love, protective next door neighbours, sweet romance and sweet HEAs.

It’s a collection of friends to lovers short stories. I liked each of them, the stories and backstories were cute and lovely. I liked the first story the most! They were a bit maybe too short for me, I would’ve loved to read about the characters more but overall, a very likable read, I recommend for those who’d like to read something cute and romantic!

My Off-Limits Protector Next Door is a collection of four short stories. All of the stories include a single parent and adorable kids. While all of the stories are good, my favorite was Harmonies and Heartbeats. This story was funnier than the others. Something about a singer who is pestered by the dog next door howling while she is practicing is hilarious. The other funny story has a parrot that tries to sabotage a single mother’s dates. If you are looking for some clean. light reading, this is a great choice.

I thought this was something that it wasn't. These are some cute, short, romance stories, I read them anyway and I must admit I did enjoy them. My favourite story was the one with Thunder and Whiskers! You'll know if you read them. These are not my usual reads, I prefer darker, smutty stories, but they were a good palette cleanser.

WOW this was a great book. It was humor and clean and the chemistry between these two was so sweet and warm. It was a quick read. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. A collection of four sweet romances with lovable characters. Loved all of these stories just wish there was more. My only complaint is that I thought they would be more like a series with returning characters in each story. Great quick read.

This book contains four short stories in a total of less than 100 pages. As such there is minimal development of characters beyond the superficial stresses and rescues. The stories are feel-good stories with happy endings. I would recommend it for people looking for quick reads with happy endings.

This boxset had four short stories that featured nextdoor nighbour romances, the characters are likeable and the stories move along well. Personally I would have liked another chapter or two extra from each, showing things a little later down the line.

This book has 4 short and sweet romance stories. Each is a cute read with likeable characters and interesting storylines. They are enjoyable, entertaining, quick and easy reads that will warm your heart as you enjoy their HEA's.

The story isn't bad, but I don't like how it's written.
The characters lack personalities; I can't see any sparks. It feels like they all get together because they are there, not because of any attraction.
