Flint and Renee's Story . . .

Flint Richards absolutely does not want to attend his high school reunion. Being back there fills him with dread at memories of being the heavy kid with bad skin and glasses and no friends. Only Renee Fletcher was his first friend and his first love until they went to different universities. His memories of being teased, bullied, and beaten by Lawrence Marshall would never go away. Eating was how he dealt with the stress.

When he hears a soft voice call his name, he turns and sees Renee smiling at him. She told him she works for a pharmaceutical company in R&D. He told her he was an MMA fighter who was later hired as a personal trainer at the local gym. Then Lawrence Marshall’s nasty voice raises up calling, “Fatty Flint!” Every huge muscle in Flint’s body tensed up as the jerk leered at Renee. Once the buffet opens, Flint tells Renee he is heading out. He has nothing to “catch up on” he states. He is not who he used to be. But as he walked away, she followed outside. She told him she had come here for him, to know if he ever thought about her over the years. He responded that he did everything he could to put those years behind him! She backed away but he closed the distance, took her hand, and told her seeing her let the good memories come back too! She is the only one he could ever feel things for, and he wanted to see her again – but not here.

They go to an old diner they used to visit. Renee is heavy now and imagines all the skinny woman who must date Flint now. She orders a salad and water. Flint places his order and among the items is an order of pancakes, her favorite, and two chocolate shakes. When she questions him, he tells her he likes curves and has no intention of watching her move a salad around on her plate while he eats! They had both booked a room at the B&B. Sipping on their drinks, he stands and pulls her to him, whispering that he wants her… he has always wanted her.

Their past together made their love for each other even stronger now. But Renee doesn’t want to leave her job in the city, and Flint can’t leave his job with his best friend at the gym. Is there a solution they can work out? Because walking away is not an option!

Renee has been looking forward to her high school reunion for one reason and one reason only that is Flint Richards. He had been her best friend but after graduation he vanished from her life, its ten years later and he has always been in her heart. He is no longer the boy he used to be when he was teased and bullied for being overweight and he is nothing like she was expecting. The man stood in front of her is a man that could have any woman that he wanted and she feels like he is out of her league. Will her first love be her last or will she be leaving alone?

Flint Richards wanted to be anyplace other than his high school reunion but there was a reason he was there and that was Renee Fletcher his first love and his best friend. But they gradually drifted apart when they graduated high school and went their separate ways but she is the one person that he wants in his life, and if he is honest his heart. He knows how he looks now will shock a lot of his peers no longer “Fatty Flint” he is a retired MMA Champion and is now a personal trainer. But he is there for Renee do they have a chance at a second chance together or was the past better left as a memory?

This was a cute story of a second chance and revisiting a past that you would rather forget I can imagine we all have had memories of high school that we would rather forget but in this case it’s the right thing to do. Short and relatable read. 4*

I loved Flint: Inner-City Alphas 5. Flint went to his high school reunion for one reason, Renee. When he thinks it was wrong he rushes out but Renee has been trying ti find him for years and won’t give up in Flint. This reconnection was a decade in the making. Is Flint ready to take a chance with Renee to finally have the future he always wanted? This was a short and sweet story, and I loved the characters. I loved the idea of these high school friends reconnecting. I would definitely recommend this book.

He's a personal fitness trainer and retired MMA fighter. She works for the research and development team of a pharmaceutical company. They were best friends in high school and each other's first love. They went their separate ways after graduation but reconnected at the ten year reunion. He was bullied and tormented during high school because he was overweight, but she only accepted him for who he was and not how much he weighed. Their feelings spring back to the surface as soon as they reconnect. This is such a sweet second-chance romance.
