We're back in Portland - in the apartment building where most of the Stage Dive boys and girls live.
And new rock star Adam lives here too.
His first album has been a huge hit. And every single song was written about his heartbreak ... from breaking up with Jill.
That's why she's here too. She wants to talk about the check he sent her. She doesn't want that money! Money he made by being horrible to her in all those songs!
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN - because all those old feelings are still very much there as soon as they're in a room together!

Oh Mal - how we missed you!!! He's the best thing about any and all Stage Dive books - sorry other guys and girls, but Mal is the greatest. Idiot. Mostly. But still - I just adore him.
I just copied these ↑ last few lines from my previous reviews - because it's still the truth! Mal was again the secret star in this novella! He's just adorable and silly and ridiculous! I love him!
But I also adored Adam and Jill. They so obviously belong together!
And it's really adorable to see them argue their way to that happy end!
This short novella was very funny, sparky, sexy, adorable ... and I loved reading it - I just loved being back in the Stage Dive world for a little while!
I wouldn't have minded a full-length story for Adam and Jill. But this cute little thing was really great too!

Agli occhi di Jill la nuova vita di Adam poteva essere etichettata come una follia: guardie del corpo, auto di lusso e una donna terrificante a gestire il tutto. Quando l’aveva conosciuto, circa un anno prima, non possedeva altro che un paio di calzini.
Era stata lei ad aiutarlo, prendendosene cura e supportandolo nella musica, la sua più grande passione. Era stata presente a ogni sua esibizione, lo aveva aiutato a trasportare l’attrezzatura e gli aveva dato lo spazio e il tempo che gli servivano per scrivere le sue canzoni.
Adesso la sua vita era davvero pazzesca. Era diventato famoso e viveva in un lussuoso palazzo insieme ai componenti degli Stage Dive, la rock band famosa in tutto il mondo.
Da lì a breve sarebbe partito per iniziare la parte europea del suo tour. Quella era l’unica opportunità che aveva per parlargli e dirgli ciò che pensava dell’assegno che le aveva fatto recapitare e non l’avrebbe sprecata.

Probabilmente hanno rinunciato troppo presto al loro amore, per codardia forse o a causa di malintesi nati da dissapori che hanno incrinato il loro rapporto.
Ma non appena si sono rivisti, il desiderio di recuperare quella storia che gli ha dato tanto diventa essenziale per entrambi, e cercheranno in ogni modo possibile di rimediare agli errori di valutazione commessi in passato.
🖋️Ho amato leggere degli Stage Dive sin dalla loro comparsa, e ogni volta che viene tradotto un libro che parla di uno dei componenti della band corro subito a leggerlo.

I was really curious about Adam's story because i liked him, but after reading Love Song i've to say i loved more Jill !!
She is the devil to the world because she broke Adam's heart yet she is still happy for his success.
She is strong and true, and definitely my favorite one.
The best part of this book is being able to meet again all the Stage Dive series' characters 😍😍 They are an amazing family and i missed them 🖤

4 “album” “Baby” Kisses
I will continue to profess my love and adoration for all things Kylie Scott…I kind of feel like a broken record because I feel like all I do in my reviews is talk about how much I love her books, but darn! What a problem to have! #sarcasm I made the brilliant decision to read Closer and Love Song back to back…I highly recommend it. Each book in the Stage Dive Series can be read as a standalone, but I strongly recommend reading the novellas after the novels ( Lick , Play , Lead & Deep - then Strong , Closer & Love Song) – just because that’s the core world that these novels are based on. Plus…they’re freaking amazing and four of my favorite books of all time – so there’s that as well. I’m so excited Adam got his own book – it’s like the little baby rock star is all grown up.
Jill Schwartz…I loooooved this chick hard core. I loved her attitude, I loved the way she thought, I loved how funny she was – I mean clearly, I’ve got a huge girl crush on Jill. From the very first second I was in awe of her lady balls – it really takes a lot of guts to go to your ex’s concert to confront them…so she had my respect right off the bat. And it was all up from there…I loved that she wasn’t just a swooning fan girl, she had a backbone, she didn’t just forget all the reasons why their relationship failed originally just cause Adam finally made it big. I wish we had dived a bit more into her feelings about all of it…but it was clear that while she was over the hurt from the break up, she still did love and care about him, which was just one more reason for me to love her.

Adam Dillon…oh be still my swoony heart, I had no chance at fighting my love for Adam. Not that I wanted to…at all, I mean, the long hair, the defined cheekbones and the musical talents – I’m throwing myself at him full throttle. I dug the swoony, heartsick guy…especially one who shows his heart on his sleeve through his music – what’s not to love about that? I honestly liked that he wasn’t a perfect guy…he’d made a lot of mistakes in his past and he owned them, but he was ready to be more honest with himself and with Jill and that showed progress and growth. I can only imagine how much more I would have loved him if we had had chance to see his full growth and arc through an entire novel.
Jill and Adam are…a work in progress. They’re ex’s – of course there is work to be done, there is a reason they broke up (good and valid reasons) but it’s clear that there is still a lot of love there and I liiiiiived for every second of watching them find their way back to it. I’m not going to lie, I wish Adam and Jill’s story had been a full length book instead of a novella (I mean…I feel like I say that about all of Kylie’s novella’s but I really mean it for this one!). I’ve always professed my love/hate relationship with novella’s – I’ll never complain about getting more, especially from a series I love – in any way, shape or form it comes to me. But normally I don’t get near enough from the story as I need/want – which is understandable given it’s a quarter of the size…but still, I can’t say no to them! I would have loved to have seen more of Jill and Adam in the past – that’s what I love about couples with history, is getting to see all the bits and pieces that make them who they are…and while Jill talks about some of the stuff (mostly the negative) it wasn’t enough to satiate my need for their history. Don’t get me wrong, I loved every second of what we got with them…and I hate to say it wasn’t enough, but like…I loved them enough to want more.
Kylie Scott…her writing just makes me happy. It gets me in ways no other author can. It’s the combination that is her signature style…her brand of humor and wit and sarcasm that she infuses into the books, the quirks that are unique to her characters, the banter that is spot on perfection, the flow and pacing – it all just comes together so perfectly. And I love that Love Song is a way for us to still connect with the Stage Dive World…give us a way to connect with the characters we love…see it from another persons perspective and yet still get introduced to new characters and stories.
The ending was…sweet and wonderful and gave me all the happy butterflies I could want. As much as I can say I want more, the way Adam and Jill’s story was told was complete and I really appreciated that…it was the perfect HEA for them and I loved it. I don’t know if we’ll be getting anymore Stage Dive novella’s in the future…maybe Bon (Ziggy’s brother from Closer) will get a story – that would be cute :-) Either way…I’ll always be excited to see what Kylie puts out next!

I nodded, because I did know. I couldn’t look at him and not know it. It would be impossible. His love was obvious now in every look. In everything he did. There could not be one iota of doubt inside me regarding Adam’s love.
“Good,” he said.

As much as I can say I want more, the way Adam and Jill’s story was told was complete and I really appreciated that…it was the perfect HEA for them and I loved it. Love Song era una novela que me interesaba mucho, el personaje de Adam me gusto y dejo con ganas de conocerlo mas, y aunque en Love Song no se profundiza tanto como me hubiera gustado, es comprensible al tener un numero de paginas tan escueto, pese a eso, me dio lo que esperaba cuando lo inicie.
La reunion de Jill y Adam fue curiosa a falta de una mejor descripcion, me encanto como empezo aunque es cierto que luego me dejo menos satisfecha, principalmente debido a la rapidez con la que se dio su reconciliacion, sin embargo, lo esperaba al tener tan pocos capitulos.
Finalizando, Love Song es la lectura ideal para todos los fans de la autora, creo que plasma muy bien el mundo y la familia que han formado estos chicos, a la par que conocer su estilo si es la primera vez que lees algo de Kylie Scott. Recomendable.

This was cute... like a mini version of the other books in this series.
Adam sent his ex, Jill a very large cheque after he made it big as a rock star. The next day Jill finds him with some difficulty, in order to return it.
So Adam's first album is all about how Jill broke his heart and ruined him.
But now we get Jill's version of things...
I was glad they worked things out but there were a couple things that stopped me from buying into this romance totally. One being that he wrote in his songs about how much he loved her. So why didn't he try to get back with her after he realized that she had a right to kick him to the curb? But he doesn't waste the opportunity to try and woo her back when she reappears.
Hope he's learned his lesson.

Even though this was a small novel, i really enjoyed it and i was so happy that for once again, I was thrown into the "Stage Dive" world and I saw all of my favorite characters for once again!!! Hello, Mal and your idiotic, but sooo adorable ways!!!
Of course, welcome Adam Dillon, new star in the music industry who is living in the same building as the rest of the crew and he is close friends with them...
Add to the mix, Jill, his ex and what a lovely result was that!!!
Well, Adam and Jill had a bad breakup who left them with a bad taste on the mouth, especially to Jill...
As for Adam??? This breakup made him... famous!!!
All of his songs were talking about that coldhearted bitch that had break his heart, and guess what??? That bitch is about to step for once again into his life and the things are about to get complicated for once again...
So, let's the fun begin!!!
It was so enjoyable to see Adam and Jill battered each other in order to compromise...
Even though it was a serious situation, i couldn't hold my smile back when they were arguing, or I guess Jill was arguing and Adam was keeping his chill intact...
But what will happen when will they realize that their feelings never got away, even though they stopped being together???
I really liked this couple...
Yep, I could see why their relationship turned out infunctional, but when there are feelings, maybe you should try a little bit harder...
Or maybe, you just have to let go the other and maybe one day... the one that got away will return back to you.

But what will happen when will they realize that their feelings never got away, even though they stopped being together???
I really liked this couple...
Yep, I could see why their relationship turned out infunctional, but when there are feelings, maybe you should try a little bit harder...

Brilliant writing, great romance and the banter is hilarious particularly when Mal is on the scene, he’s a riot.
So good to catch up with the Stage Dive guys and their partners again.
Most excellent read.

This novella is set in the Stage Dive world. It is technically a part of a series but can be read as a standalone. The relatively short novella is told only from Jill's POV (main heroine) and follows Adam Dillon and ex-girlfriend Jillian Schwartz.
STORY PLOT
After breaking up a year ago, their paths cross again when Adam wanted to make it up to Jill for carrying the financial burden when they lived together. Jill is enraged when she receives this huge check and has a lot to discuss with Adam from the check to him writing a whole album labeling her the "big bad wolf"/cold hard bitch of their relationship. When together again, they see the personal growth in each other and the heat that always been there between them is hotter than ever. Jill is hesitant to act on these feelings as she was in love with Adam and it broke her the way he acted in their relationship and post break up. Adam has other plans though and is now prepared to show Jill just how good they were together.

Why did I rate it 3.5 stars?
Yes, novellas are written in a way that do not include too much character depth and is rather quick paced in romance. Unfortunately, majority of the novella was the couple fighting about the past and the fighting did not really move forward or resolve any issues. It seemed that them having sex was the answer to it all. The sex scenes were hot but that's not how you resolve issues in any relationship. Lastly, I felt that the ending was left very open to the point that it felt like a beginning or middle of a book rather than a end. Maybe that was intentional or not, who knows.

Uno stile quello dell'autrice scorrevole, accattivante e a tratti ironico che rende la lettura molto coinvolgente, è stato bello ritrovare tutti i personaggi delle storie precedenti e assistere ai loro dialoghi veramente divertenti, e mi è venuta voglia di recuperare quelli che mi ero lasciata indietro.
Una lettura leggera che consiglio a chi ha voglia di leggere qualcosa senza troppi impegni.

Most love songs are quite romantic but some of them focus on the downside of love, painting the ex-girlfriend in such a way that she ends up as a villain to the listener’s minds.
When Jill unexpectedly receives a whopping big cheque from her ex-boyfriend Adam she is determined to meet with him face to face. Doing that is not easy though, he has found success in the rock world, thanks to a leg up from Stage Dive and is now a hot commodity.
Jill shows up at Adam’s live concert determined to get past security and his manager so she can talk to him in person. She manages to convince them enough to get backstage and this is how she ends up in the back seat of his car ride home to see if they can both get some closure. Adam is shocked to see Jill again initially but also curious about what she wants, surely the cheque he sent her was enough money?
Jill feels like she is the subject of most of his recent songs and it concerns her that there is ill will between them now. They were different people back then and she sacrificed a lot for his dream of a career in music. Adam thinks the money he is offering her goes some way to thanking her for everything she did for him.. However, he forgot how a female mind works, Jill wants all the answers to the swarm of questions going through her head and she isn’t going anywhere until she gets them.
It’s a delicious treat when Kylie offers up another novella set in the Stage Dive world and this one definitely satisfied my appetite.

Cute, sweet and with some great heart.
I really don't think I could ever get enough of Stage Dive books or any that are connected to them. I love revisiting the characters and of course one of my all time favorite characters is Mal who we get plenty of glimpse from in this book.

This is a second chance novella, since it's the story of Adam and Jill. She had kicked him out of their apartment and her life when he wasn't as responsible as she liked and now that he's a big name in a rock band, he has sent her a check to pay her back for then, but she can't accept it and therefore tries to meet him, so they can solve that matter.
Ahhhhh I was so happy to dive back into the Stage Dive series!! It's my most favorite books with rockstars and when I heard there was a novella coming out, I went crazy! Adam was definitely a character that I liked, he had showed character development and Jill was definitely determined. However, it was only four chapters, so it did gave me the rushed feel of an insta love and couldn't connect 100% with them. Especially with his suggestion and her decision by the end. But it's not bad either.
I was so excited to see old favorite characters!! I was definitely blessed with Mal and it makes me wanna reread these books, because my heart has been captured long ago and I felt all the nostalgia. Definitely recommend reading this novella if you want a quick, sweet and sexy read!

Adam and Jill get right to the heated heart of the matter, and that’s a good thing, folks. At only 79 pages, there wasn’t any time to waste for these two, never should have parted a year ago lovebirds to reconnect and work things out. But not to worry, this author still manages to pack a full story within this novella.
Adam may have found success by keeping his head full of angry break up song lyrics during their time apaart, but it’s his heart he has to lay on the line now if he wants to make beautiful music once again with this sassy heroine.
Jill is a force to be reckoned with when she storms this rock band’s fortress. She’s got something to return, a piece of her mind to deliver, and nobody is going to stop her from doing just that. Good golly, Miss Molly, I do believe if she'd said in the past what she said in the here and now things would have been quite different this past year. Though it wasn’t part of her plan to set things into motion for a reconciliation, we are lucky enough to have front row seats to witness these two halves being put back together to make a better whole, brand new, much stronger than ever main couple.
As a huge fan of the Stage Dive series, I’m always happy to spend time with all the characters from this series. This go around their cameos were fleeting glimpses, but I enjoyed them all the same. My only regret here is this very short novella wasn’t a whole lot longer. It was a blink of an eye read for me. I'd loved to have spent more time with them all. Maybe even throw in an emotional, romantic "gotta go get my girl" wrap up conclusion. All while eliminating the fact Jill stayed celibate during their split, while Adam apparently did not. At least we were spared specific, graphic details regarding Adam's misstep there.
Here's to hoping Ms. Scott keeps the romantic music flowing here, my fellow romance book loving friends. If so, I'll be sure to be front row and center each and every time.

I really enjoyed this story about two people who have not gotten over each other. When Adam makes it big as a rock star, he decides to make things right with Jill, his ex-girlfriend. To say she is shocked when she receives his gesture is an understatement. She goes to see him and they soon realize that their feelings are still there and stronger then ever. These two were so sweet and there were so many emotions from them both that just couldn’t be ignored. I really loved catching up with the rest of the Stage Dive gang. Another great book from the talented Kylie Scott.

I'm quite satisfied with this novella. I usually don’t like short stories because I rarely come across ones that aren’t insta-love but this second-chance novella worked out well.
I liked both main characters although I have to say Jill a little bit more than Adam but only because the book is told from her POV. It made it easier to connect and understand her and I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get his perspective (too), especially because the blurb made it sound like we would. I think a glimpse into his thoughts and feelings would have rounded the story off a bit more.
Besides that, Kylie Scott did a great job of packing all the essential parts of Jill and Adam’s past and present relationship into this short novella AND being able to give us readers a Stage Dive cameo.

Of course my favorite character has his own shining moment in this story, and that is what I love about Kylie Scott going back to this series so much. Mal Ericson, is there anyone that can compare?
Fortunately Adam does his best and holds his own in this story. This is of course just a novella, so not very long, but I like the way everything plays out in perfect timing. A spin-off novella from the Stage Dive series that easily stands alone, this is a fun, sweet and sexy love story featuring rockstar Adam Dillon in a second-chance-romance that stole my heart.
Adam has achieved phenomenal success with the release of his first album. Unfortunately for his ex-girlfriend, Jill, that album is full of hate songs about how she callously broke his heart. Jill has been able to deal with the constant reminders of her own heartbreak, but his latest move pushes her too far, and she tracks him down to resolve things once and for all.
It’s a great set-up, and I was so excited to see how it was all going to play out. It’s funny, feisty and dramatic as these two ex-lovers reunite and hash out their issues, and it doesn’t take too long for raw feelings to explode.
OMG, the chemistry is electric! Even in such a short read, Scott creates such a wonderful dynamic between these two, and all of that passion and intensity delivers seriously steamy sexy time as they figure out where they are at and what they want.
The rest of the Stage Dive crew appear, and we get to spend a little bit of time with them. I loved seeing them all together and catching up on developments in their stories. It makes me keen for a series reread, I love them all so much!!
This is a really fun novella with a great story, a lot of heart, and a super satisfying HEA.

A spin-off novella from the Stage Dive series that easily stands alone, this is a fun, sweet and sexy love story featuring rockstar Adam Dillon in a second-chance-romance that stole my heart.
Adam has achieved phenomenal success with the release of his first album. Unfortunately for his ex-girlfriend, Jill, that album is full of hate songs about how she callously broke his heart. Jill has been able to deal with the constant reminders of her own heartbreak, but his latest move pushes her too far, and she tracks him down to resolve things once and for all.
It’s a great set-up, and I was so excited to see how it was all going to play out. It’s funny, feisty and dramatic as these two ex-lovers reunite and hash out their issues, and it doesn’t take too long for raw feelings to explode.
“How fucking dare you? You wrote a whole damn album telling the world how you felt when you couldn’t even tell me. Not once. Not even once did you tell me how you felt about me.”
“You kicked me out.”
“You took me for granted.”
“You blocked my number.”
“You behaved like an emotionally repressed immature asshole, and I didn’t want to talk to you.” I slammed my hands against his chest. “So there,” I yelled like a reasonable adult.
“I loved you!” he roared back at me. “I loved you, Jill. And maybe I was shit at showing it, but I would have figured it out. I would have gotten there. Why the hell did you give up on me so soon?”
OMG, the chemistry is electric! Even in such a short read, Scott creates such a wonderful dynamic between these two, and all of that passion and intensity delivers seriously steamy sexy time as they figure out where they are at and what they want.
“Break my heart again, Jill.” His sweet sexy smile made my heart hurt. Damn the man. “C’mon. I dare you.”

Just ok. Best part for me was seeing Mal and Anne again.
Also, your ex that you haven’t seen in a year is now a famous rock n roll singer and has been surrounded by groupies and partying it up. And she decided to have unprotected sex with him 🤮. Don’t worry honey, I wrapped it up every time. Ummmmm you can still get several STD’s even if you’re wearing a condom.
Oh and she’s been celibate the entire year. Of course. Because that’s the way it always works with these authors.

Adam Dillon è la stella nascente del rock ed è riuscito a sfondare nel mondo della musica grazie a un disco composto da pezzi che parlano della rottura avuta, ormai un anno prima, con la sua ex fidanzata.
Jill Schwartz non rimpiange nulla del suo passato, men che meno l'aver sbattuto fuori di casa il suo pessimo ex, Adam.
Entrambi sono andati avanti, ognuno ha la sua vita... eppure qualcosa ribolle sotto la cenere e basterà una sola scintilla a far ravvivare quel fuoco mai spento.
«Spezzami di nuovo il cuore, Jill». Il suo dolce sorriso sexy mi fece male al cuore. Accidenti a lui. «Forza, ti sfido».
Ho divorato queste poche pagine in meno di un'ora e sono state un'ottima compagnia. Mi sono divertita molto con Adam e Jill. Amo in particolare lei. È una di quelle protagoniste che non si lascia abbindolare ma che, allo stesso tempo, sa compiere un passo indietro se messa di fronte a una prospettiva diversa dalla sua. L'ho trovata vera, sincera. Così come sincero ed evidente è il sentimento che Adam prova nei suoi confronti. Fin dal loro primo scambio di battute si capisce l'amore che ancora è lì, sotto la superficie, e che entrambi non hanno dimenticato nonostante il tempo passato lontani. Adam è la classica star del rock consapevole del fascino che sprigiona, ma in lui ho trovato anche un lato tenero e romantico che ho apprezzato molto.
Questa novella è piacevole, senza fronzoli. Giusto un racconto per far luce su un personaggio che viene citato nei romanzi principali della serie. Lo stile della Scott è, come sempre, veloce e mucho caliente. L'autrice sa come scaldare gli animi dei lettori e fa molto leva sull'erotismo e sulla passione.
Se cercate le lacrime, i drammi, le pagine piene di pensieri contorti e in grado di farvi bruciare lo stomaco non siete nel posto giusto. Questa è la storia perfetta per chi ha voglia di leggerezza e qualche sorriso, grazie a vecchie comparse molto esilaranti. Il nome Mal, vi dice nulla? Non vi resta che scoprirlo. ;)
