My second grader was laughing straight from the opening pages. She completely identifies with not wanting to go to sleep. The father's story was silly and completely engaging. The fact that the word thingamajig was in there several times made it even better! As for myself, I wouldn't have rated the book as high, but reading it with my daughter who got utter delight from it makes it worthy of five stars.
It's bedtime, but Alex is not sleepy, so his father tells him a story that is sure to put him to sleep. It has a thingamajig, a jungle, and the moon, clouds and the stars.
It sure didn't make me feel sleepy, but, then, I'm not six. I, personally, give it one star. But a mom, below, gave it five because it worked on her kid, so, yay.
