I facilitate healing groups and one of the things we talk about is the emotional backpack, how we walk around with our feelings in this backpack, and we get to decide what we share and with whom, so to stumble upon this book that dives in much deeper into the Emotional Backpack, I thought why not take the plunge. Vivian gives so much detail in what is in our backpacks, how it leaks out, how we can deal with our reactions to our trauma, and most importantly, excellent activities and exercises to help us process a better way of moving forward in a healthier way. Very well done and highly recommend! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I received a free copy of "The Emotional Backpack: How to Release Unhealthy Feelings" via LibraryThing. Vivian Dittmar did a great job with this book. It was well written. She gave great explanations and examples. I will admit it was much more that I thought it would be. There are several steps, and you start with the easiest and can work your way to more involved steps. I am glad I read this book. I think it can be helpful.

The book uses the metaphor to cover the idea of unresolved feelings and experiences that affect individuals’ daily lives. The author highlights to the reader how important it is for the reader to recognise and consciously release emotions to improve their own wellbeing and emotional intelligence .

In the book the author offers practical advice for personal growth and healthier relationships and this is an area of self help that is important for a lot of adults to explore in modern life, myself included. Life is hard, be kind to yourself. Good one Vivian.
