Such a pleasant read that kept me curious as to what was behind all the attacks etc.....I had to smile at the not lack of communication as such (as that drives me over the edge with irritation) but the assuming of what each other must be presuming. There were plenty of spiritual elements sprinkled throughout which were so appropriate and timely to the story which I am well pleased with and can gladly recommend this book. The theme of the story per say was centered on the Bible verse about not laying up treasures for ourselves in this world where thieves steal and they rot/get destroyed ( we can't take it with us anyway after this brief life!) for where our "treasure" is, there our hearts will be focused on and be taken up with.....made me think of the other verses too about how even if we could gain everything in this life on earth, yet lose our souls; what would be the point?? Not a thing!.....Or how the LOVE of money is the root of all evil as the all consuming insatiable desire for wealth basically affects many unfortunately all we all know; the greed++, stealing, corruption, and even murder......

I didn't start out to make this into a sermon so to speak, ha...but those thoughts all came to mind so I shared regardless as a part of why I enjoyed the book. The appealing cover caught my eye initially (as so often happens and causes me to end up buying the book at times too ;) so I pre-ordered it, then pleased that I did for the content. * Attractive covers sell*, publishers seem to take notice and recognize that sometimes...

I think this is my first by this author and I would gladly purchase others by her.

In the secluded mountains lies a world shrouded in mystery, where the whispers of the past echo through the passageways of time. Antique dealer Brielle Holt may have uncovered a cryptic revelation, she inadvertently becomes ensnared in a web of intrigue and danger. With assailants lurking in the shadows, Brielle finds a trustworthy protector in CSI agent Lucas Scott. Together, they must unravel the hidden secrets.

Hidden Mountain Secrets is an exciting blend of mystery and intrigue that will leave you captivated. Kerry Johnson crafts a narrative brimming with puzzling charm and pulse-pounding suspense, earning top marks for its gripping storyline and atmospheric setting.

Their quest for truth leads Brielle and Lucas down a labyrinth of twists and turns, where every clue may bring them closer to the heart of darkness. Yet, amidst the shadowy intrigue and danger, a tender romance blossoms, adding depth and emotion to their harrowing journey.

Johnson infuses the story with themes of genuine faith and redemption, offering a glimpse into the characters' inner struggles and triumphs. During moments of skepticism and hesitation, the unwavering presence of Christian faith shines brightly, filling the pages with hope and resilience.

Especially in moments of life and death, faith became a true anchor for Brielle. As she sought God’s help and protection, her prayers intertwined beautifully. For instance, early in the story, Brielle prayed for God’s help, she recalled Scripture and recited the verse “God is your strong tower and fortress of protection…” as “words like armor over her …” Moments later, Lucas quotes Joshua 1:5 and further encouraged Brielle by reminder her: “No matter what, God is with us. We’re never, ever abandoned.” This story exemplifies how important it is to surround ourselves with likeminded and maturing followers of Jesus.

Hidden Mountain Secrets unfolds like an exciting mystery, drawing readers deeper into its intricate web of secrets and lies. If you're in search of a mysteriously suspenseful tale that will keep you guessing, look no further than Hidden Mountain Secrets.

The suspense, and the story line and action in this one was a total 5 stars. The romance, and "all the feels" was more of a 3 stars, it definitely wasn't a large part of it. I averaged that to a 4 stars for me, which is a great rating and read. And I loved this book so much I backtracked and decided to grab the books before this one. Even though its not AS much romance as I'd like, the story had me struggling to put it down and I read it in a day!

Lucas is back in Tunnel Creek for only a short time....but just in time for his friends sister Brielle,to become the victim in a burglary. He quickly learns its not just a burglary, someone's trying to kill her! While his best friend Jasper is expecting a baby any day now, Lucas steps in to keep Brielle safe. But they soon learn it is not just about guarding each other from harm, but also guarding their hearts from each other. Can they find out who is after Brielle and why? And what happens when this is all over and its time for Lucas to leave Tunnel Creek and head back home?!

Sweet story, tons of suspense, and the romance while slow... was worth the wait!

***I totally appreciate the main characters are book lovers too! And Brielle loves treasure hunting for antiques, which means she and I would TOTALLY have been besties!

It was supposed to be a quiet day with antiques...

This is, I just realized, the fourth Love Inspired Suspense novel that I've read from Kerry Johnson and after the first one I pretty much started picking them up as soon as I saw/see her name on the front cover. Hidden Mountain Secrets is the third jaunt back to Tunnel Creek and it proved to be was every bit as good as the first two.

There is plenty of danger and excitement, not to mention romance, in Hidden Mountain Secrets and I have to admit that this is the first time in awhile that I hadn't guessed the villain's identity. But, it is always fun to be surprised now and then. Kerry Johnson certainly did a good job building each block of the story onto the previous one in way that kept the plot moving forward at just the right pace.

Aside from my obvious enjoyment of the genre of this particular Love Inspired novel, romantic suspense, I really liked the fact that both the heroine and her hero are book lovers. And a big shoutout to the author for the cameo of my favorite L.M. Montgomery novel, one that I re-read every few years.

Anyway, Hidden Mountain Secrets was a good read and I am sorry to be saying goodbye to the Holt family and Tunnel Creek. However, I will also be looking forward to hopefully reading more from Kerry Johnson...

A tense, nail-biting thriller filled with twists and turns that eventually lead to a surprising and unexpected ending . . .

Kerry Johnson is one of my favorite inspirational romantic suspense authors because of her ability to create strong, well-defined characters that are not afraid to reveal their fears and weaknesses to readers.

This story was filled with unexpected events, action scenes, a wide variety of well-developed characters—good and villainous, and old-fashioned detective work.

After becoming involved in the sale of a local billionaire's priceless artifacts after his mysterious death, Brielle Holt's antique store becomes the target for unusual activity such as break-ins and an assault on her employee. When Brielle is stalked by an unknown assailant, the tension in the plot is ramped up drawing readers further into the intricate plot.

As the plot is unraveled by Lucas Scott with help from Brielle's older brother, Jasper, Brielle begins to rely on Lucas to allay her fears; and she learns to trust him. As their relationship deepens, Lucas and Brielle are each able to let go of their past traumas and trust God.

This book is completely clean in language and content. I received a copy of this book from the author through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my thoughts and opinions shared here are solely my own.

Hidden Mountain Secrets was such a captivating read and I loved many aspects about it. It was easily a five-star read for me! This is because I’m a thriller-lover and I’m also a lover of Christian fiction, so when they’re both mixed together, I can’t help but to dive right in!

Kerry’s writing style was absolutely wonderful for this romantic suspense novel, and I was definitely intrigued by the elements of mysteries throughout! I also couldn’t help but to admire the setting of the mountains because I live on a small mountain/ridge myself in rural Missouri - so I was easily able to put myself in to the story 😍 Lastly, I actually REALLY enjoyed the length of this story, as it was a great palette cleanser between bigger books. It was a quick 200-page read, but it wasn’t *too short* that I didn’t get to soak up the story!

The creep factor is definitely present in this LIS book about an antique dealer who is in danger after she agrees to sell the relics from a local estate. Brielle Holt is contacted by the manager of the Gaines estate and she thinks it’s a windfall for her business to be able to obtain all of the priceless relics that she wants. Little does she know that from the first day she sets foot on the property, her life is in danger. If it weren’t for the help of CSI agent Luke Scott, she would have been killed already, but his intervention saved her. The question that is front and center in the story is whether the two of them can discover the truth about the attacks against Brielle before she is killed. The pace is at a fast gallop, with tension that keeps building as the danger continues to ramp up. This is intense suspense at its best, with relatable characters who are realistically flawed and a cleverly written plot that kept me turning pages late into the night. The research was evident and much appreciated as I always enjoy learning something new when I read, and this book challenged me to learn about fossils and other relics. I enjoyed the multiple possible suspects as I guessed who was the culprit, was wrong, backtracked and changed my guess several times. I was able to ultimately guess the villain but that was because of a really great clue that was well hidden, but I caught it. This is a satisfying and realistic romantic suspense with a tightly written plot and a satisfying love story. The chemistry between the characters was believable and the twists in the plot made the story for me. This book is a fast read and entertaining from beginning to end!

Wow, this was a wild ride of suspense and danger. First off, I really like this cover. That house, which is important to the story and the lightning, and the moon gives this story an eerie ambiance. Which seems to follow the characters throughout. Also, Brielle Holt is an antique dealer, she has her own shop that I really wanted to visit in real life. And when there was some scuffle in her shop, I held my breath and thought, no not the antiques. Anyway, this was an interesting story that kept me on the edge of my seat so to speak.

Brielle has been hired to go through a late recluse millionaire's mansion, to inventory and price his valuables. This is an exciting venture for Brielle until it happens that someone really wants to stop her from doing just that. Even killing her. And right from the start Brielle's life is in danger. But she does get to meet up with her high school crush now CSI agent Lucas Scott. He has literally become her hero.

Lucas is bound and determined not to let anything happen to Brielle, especially as we find out more about his tragic past. His natural protective instincts come shining through, and quite often. As those after Brielle for whatever reason are most determined she meets her end.

This was a most riveting read. I was rooting for Brielle and Lucas's safety and kindling romance, along with those beautiful antiques.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

Hidden Mountain Secrets was a fantastic story.

Brielle is an antique dealer just doing her job with a furniture pickup. When she's targeted by someone who wants her dead. CSI Lucas is there to help her stay alive as they try to figure out who wants her dead. Throw in some family tension on Brielle's side, and this story will keep you turning pages to find out who is after her.

I didn't see that ending coming at all. Totally had it figured wrong.

Hidden Mountain Secrets by Kerry Johnson is a page-turning must-read for readers who love faith-based suspense! I absolutely loved it! I thought that the setting, though in Tunnel Creek still, was unique because of the antiques store. Wondering why someone would break in and almost kill people to get to something in the store made it feel mysterious to me.

In addition to the setting, I loved the characters. Brielle had carried so much guilt that it was hard for her to feel worthy of love from not only her family but also her rescuer Lucas. I also liked the fact that she and Lucas had known each other growing up since he was best friends with her brother. Though it had been a long time since they’d seen each other, they could still talk about their love of books. They opened up to each other more than they had to others because of things that caused them pain and guilt. They related to each other which made the romance seem authentic.

The suspense and action had me reading this quickly, and I finished it in one sitting. If you’re a Love Inspired Suspense reader, you know what I mean! Kerry Johnson hit it out of the park in Hidden Mountain Secrets! I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it!

from the start, danger lurks at every turn of hidden mountain secrets. a masked assailant surprises brielle holt in her own antique shop, and luckily, her police-officer brother and his best friend, csi agent lucas scott come to her rescue. though he’s in town on his own investigation, lucas cannot help but want to protect brielle—which, of course, proves to be no easy task.

while staying alive and finding the truth behind all the attacks are the obvious priorities, this time spent together brings up old feelings—some romantic, some painful—giving them more with which to contend than just the present danger.

all in all, hidden mountain secrets is a fun, suspenseful story. i enjoyed following these characters through the many twists and turns—that were just shocking enough for the light weekend read i needed.

Thank you in advance to the author, Kerry Johnson, for providing a complimentary review copy through JustRead Publicity Tours. A positive review was not required or requested, and all words are my own.

Well, y’all who know me, know that I do love my romantic suspense. And. When I’ve read a book, or two … or more … in a series, I have to keep reading. Part of the reason why series books are so contentious with me – being able to not only afford them, but have the time to read them in order.

I have the first book, Tunnel Creek Ambush (Jasper and Kinsley), on my TBR stack. That was actually a book I’d won back over a year ago (around April 2023). But, when I read the second book of this series, Christmas Forest Ambush (Noah and Lucy), I KNEW I was going to have to push Tunnel Creek Ambush up on the TBR (it’s still there though). I also knew that I was going to HAVE to read Brielle’s story.

That book cover was another draw. Did anyone else get the “creepy horror movie” vibe from it? Definitely seemed spooky to m. And, given that one of the characters was an actress – I’m wondering if that wasn’t some kind of foretelling.

I don’t think the books started as a series as they’re not listed as one. But, I strongly suggest reading the other books, Tunnel Creek Ambush and Christmas Forest Ambush, before this one. This one has spoilers for those books.

Returning to the series:

🏕️ Noah
👩🏻‍💼 Social Worker Lucy Taylor
🚓 Jasper
🔬 Kinsley
🐕‍🦺 Dash (Jasper’s K-9 partner)
👦🏻 Gabe (Jasper’s son)
🚓 Chief McCoy
🖼️ Brielle
🖼️ Dana (Noah, Jasper, and Brielle’s mother)

Johnson also introduces readers to:

🔬 Logan
📱 Shonda (Brielle’s worker)
📺 Stella (Ronald’s daughter; former TV star)
👨🏻 Peter (Ronald’s son)
⚖️ Aiden (executor of Ronald’s will)

There are going to be some themes of grief (Logan for a fiancée, and Brielle over her father), as well as some violent parts.

As always, for the line, the author jumps right into the action.

Brielle has been contacted by Aiden Donaldson, the executor of Ronald’s will, about the furnishings to be sold. The plan is to divide the assets between both Peter and Stella. Peter isn’t too happy, but Stella insists it’s a better thing to do (financially).

However, someone isn’t happy about Brielle having Mrs. Gaines’ belongings. She finds Shonda hurt and is attacked herself. She calls 9-1-1. The dispatcher sends her brother Jasper, along with childhood crush – Logan.

Brielle is wondering if the rumors surrounding the mansion and Gaines’ death are true.

Brielle and Logan are “reunited”, however she knows he isn’t interested and tries to keep her distance. That isn’t going to work when she needs to be protected, especially after someone almost blows her and Logan up.

Logan, as much as he cares for his friend’s sister, isn’t looking for love. He feels he let down his former fiancée and doesn’t deserve a second chance. Though, he does plan to watch over Brielle. And, there are some sparks.

Meanwhile, Jasper and Kinsey are expecting a baby girl. Also, Noah and Lucy are together and engaged.

There’s also tension between Brielle and her mom. Brielle wonders if her mother and brothers blame her for their father’s death when she was seven. Her mother had to stay behind, leaving her father to get lost and die during a humanitarian mission; something Brielle confides to Lucas.

As they investigate who is trying to hurt her, they inadvertently open a past involving the Gaines family. They’re wondering if the Gaines’ siblings are connected to their father’s death, or is it the infamous Backyard Bandit?

At each turn, someone is intent to stop them – escalating the levels of violence and stalking with each incident. Even, at the fair where Brielle has taken Gabe it gets confrontational.

But, what they don’t see – what is the connection to Brielle, and how her attacker is connected to Peter and Stella? All they can do, while reconciling their hearts, is to stay a step ahead and try to catch someone in a lie.

Intense and suspenseful, this is fully packed with twisted family dynamics – in the Gaines’ family as well as the Holts. And, there’s even some family drama (that tracks given Stella was an actress).

In the middle of all that? A wonderful second chance romance between childhood friends; each looking for forgiveness and redemption, feeling as though they failed those they loved.

Johnson didn’t disappoint as she returns readers to Tunnel Creek for the third, perhaps, final round.

This did tend to be way more suspense than romance, which I didn’t mind. I enjoyed trying to piece the puzzle together. Though, my finished puzzle didn’t match what was in the book. Talk about a plot twist! 🫣 That was incredible!

The romance was about 10% of the book, but towards the end. And, I couldn’t hardly put this down. The only reason I did put this down was to reorganize my home, and sleep.

There is a reference to the children’s book, Charlotte’s Web in it. I had actually won a copy from a library back about 40 years ago. And, here’s something interesting about me – I read that in third grade … however, I was in a fifth-grade class for reading. In second grade, I’d go to a third-grade classroom for reading; by third grade – I ended up reading two grades ahead.

Speaking of reading, there’s also a reference to Brielle’s favorite book Jane Eyre which (I’ve never read), and Transformers (one of Gabe’s favorites).

I had to laugh about the bad guy being born in Las Vegas (Nevada). I was almost wondering – do I know him? 🤔🤣

That said …

As this is from the Love Inspired line, there will be strong themes of faith in it – praying, forgiveness, redemption arcs, and faith guided healing.

Those who’ve read the previous two books will definitely want to get this one; it’s an absolute must read!

I can’t wait to see what Johnson has planned next (though I think I may have to read Tunnel Creek Ambush) as soon as I can.

HIDDEN MOUNTAIN SECRETS by Kerry Johnson is the superbly written, suspenseful story of antique dealer Brielle Holt and CSI Lucas Scott as they try to figure out what dark secret could be worth killing someone in order to keep it buried and why have they put their bullseye on Brielle.

Brielle Holt is the owner of The Antique Depot, a book & décor store housed in a 100-year-old barn. Arriving to work early to get started on appraising and inventorying items from the Ronald Gaines estate after the death of the reclusive millionaire and once a West Coast builder to the stars, she’s surprised to find the front door ajar. Rumors of a criminal that’s come to be known as the “Backyard Bandit” give her cause to be cautious, but she wasn’t prepared to find Shonda, her only full-time employee, stabbed and unconscious in the back storeroom. She managing to get off a 911 call, who in turn would notify her brother, Jason - a local police officer, before she herself was attacked. Struggling with her assailant, although poked with a knife, she managed to avoid major injury before the police showed up causing the attacker to flee.

Special Agent Lucas Scott, who works with CSI and in turn SLED – South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, arrived along with Police Officer Jason Holt and Dash, his K-9 Dutch Shepherd. While stopping the attack, they were unable to apprehend the attacker. Speculations at first was that it might be this Backyard Bandit, but why target this place of business or either of these two women? Although Shonda is in very serious condition, she is alive, but also unconscious meaning she’s unable to help them with answers to their questions. Lucas is a native of Tunnel Creek and a life long friend of the Holt family. He’s more in line with her brother’s age, but he remembers fondly his memories of Brielle and their common love of books. While sent back to his hometown on another case, he knows immediately that he will do anything to help Jason and everything within is power to protect Brielle.

Brielle carries a heavy load of guilt. While her family was missionaries stationed overseas, she overhearing a conversation between her parents about his wife staying with his daughter just before her father took off. He died on that trip having her 7-year-old self believing that if her mother hadn’t stayed home with her that her father would have not gotten lost and died. Even her brothers don’t know SHE was the the cause of their father’s death.

After Lucas’ fiancée was kidnapped and murdered, staying in town had become very uncomfortable – too many bad memories. He moved when the opportunity came up - for a new job and a new direction in his life. Being back may mean facing some ghosts of the past before he can move on. Remembering the days before her death and finding out some things afterwards, has Lucas believing he doesn’t deserve a happily ever after. Why would anyone want to be with him once they learned the truth?

Are the attacks on Brielle connected to the Backyard Bandit? Why are these multiple attacks focused on Brielle? Are the attacks due to the items picked up from the Gaines mansion? Could it be for something not materialistic, but something she overheard? When even a safe home doesn’t seem to keep her safe, where can she go? How can Jason protect his sister while needing to be with his very pregnant wife? Can he put her life in his best friend’s hands? How should Lucas deal with his growing feelings for Brielle? Jason would have a fit if he thought Lucas was having romantic thoughts about his sister – won’t he? Feeling that she’s way too good for him, he MUST remain professional! She’d feel the same way if she knew the truth – won’t she? Can Lucas keep Brielle safe? When secrets are revealed, will Brielle’s thoughts on the past change? Will the truth heal this mother/daughter relationship? After Brielle’s disastrous prom invitation, dare she dream of a happily ever after with the man she’s falling for all over again?

HIDDEN MOUNTAIN SECRETS is a fabulous story of danger, action, suspense, family and romance that will have you quickly turning pages. As you walk alongside the characters, you will feel their emotions as their pasts affect their present. Kerry Johnson masterfully wraps it in a thread of faith showing that some faith fires need to be stoked by our fellow Christians by example as they lift us up in prayer, as they shine their own light of faith in the face of the unknown and the unseen, and showing that with God beside us that all things are possible. Positively FIVE STAR reading that I can highly recommend to everyone!

I receive an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own.

I am a sucker for a good, clean suspense and you can’t find any better than the Love Inspired Suspense series. Kerry Johnson is a master of instantly pulling the reader into the inscrutability and mayhem and I was living for it.

A brusque-paced suspense and mystery that had me flipping pages almost faster than I could read. I was instantly transported back to Tunnel Creek and all its charm. Though this novel is very predictable, like most Love Inspired Suspense novels, there is still something quite endearing that kept me reading. The ending was satisfying, and the action scenes kept me engrossed, though I do wish they would’ve had a little more depth and details.

Honestly, I think this book would’ve been stronger if the romance was not apart of the narrative. Though it is treated as more of a side story I feel like it doesn’t really lend anything to the story as a whole and skimmed through all the lovey-dovey parts and would’ve rather seen longer action scenes. I also noticed a few plot holes that I would’ve liked to have seen more fully explored and explained.

Since this is an incredibly busy time in my life, and I do not have a lot of time to sit and read, I liked that I was able to jump in and out of this novel while I was busy doing other things and it was so easy to pick back up where I left off. This was quite an enjoyable read and the perfect escape during this harried season.

This book really starts with a bang! Our main character Brielle comes back to her antique shop to find her assistant (and friend) on the floor with a knife wound moments before she’s accosted herself. She’s only saved by someone showing up. That someone would be her brother (with his K9) and an old childhood friend.

She’s had the presence of mind to call 911.

This old childhood friend though, his name is Lucas. Brielle once had a crush on him. And now he has to race against the clock to protect Brielle from whoever is determined to kill her.

Can Lucas protect her? Can he also solve the case that brought him home? Why does Brielle have a target attached to her?

This was a wonderful suspense novel. It moved along at a very quick clip and kept my attention. I loved the interaction of Brielle and Lucas and watching as they each had to overcome parts of their past and forgive themselves before they could move forward.

Disclaimer. This is book three in a series. It can be read as a stand-alone novel. But, of course, in my opinion, you should read the series in order. When you read them in order you get all the information and learn it before you see these characters. Whatever you do, read this book! You won’t regret it!

By Kerry Johnson

A mysterious death.
A secluded mansion.
This investigation could be fatal…

Brielle Holt was just supposed to handle the dispersal of the estate's antiques. Instead, she finds herself the target of a killer and she has no idea why. She'll need the help of Lucas Scott, CSI agent, and childhood friend if she hopes to stay alive long enough to figure out why. And she is not crushing on her former teenage crush, nope absolutely not, well maybe just a little. (He did save her life.)

Lucas is back in Tunnel Creek investigating a suspicious death. When his case seemingly crosses with the attack on Brielle, he is more than willing to help protect his best friend's little sister. What he didn't expect was to have feelings for her, a BIG NO-NO. She's his best friend's little sis, and he knows Jasper would object.

But as the danger draws closer and the killer remains just out of reach Lucas will do everything to keep Brielle safe. He can't lose another woman he loves on his watch.

Hidden Mountain Secrets is a clean Romantic Suspense offering from Love Inspired Suspense. There isn't graphic anything so no late-night sleeplessness from nightmares just the excuse of one more chapter. After all one needs to know the who and why behind the attacks on Brielle. And whether or not Lucas and Brielle have the chance at a tomorrow together. Overall a good read, that, though this book 3 in a series, can easily be read as a standalone title.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Antique dealer Brielle Holt suddenly finds herself with a target on her back when she is placed in charge of retaining an eccentric millionare's collection. She overhears the family making a big deal about if they should be selling off his collection. Brielle arrives at her shop to find her employee injured and someone attempting to hurt her. Thankfully, her brother, Jaspar and his best friend, Lucas come to the rescue. Jasper has a new wife and child on the way - so he enlists Lucas to keep an eye on Brielle. A long time ago, Brielle had a crush on Lucas, however he embarrassed her when she took a chance and she is nervous about being around him all the time. Lucas is a CSI agent that travels all over the state.

They find themselves having to stay a step or two ahead or Brielle might not make it. It was great to be back in Tunnel Creek. While this is part of a series, they can all be read as stand alone stories. The author has done a great job with romance and faith woven into the story. The story has plenty of action and suspense.

I love that Brielle is an antique dealer, my house is decorated with lots of antiques. Thank you to the author, publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.

I was so glad to read Brielle’s story and to catch up with her family members in Tunnel Creek. Although Hidden Mountain Secrets by Kerry Johnson is the third book in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone novel.

The suspense begins right away with an attack on Brielle Holt in her antique shop. Apparently, she had overheard some secret that has made her the target in the Gaines family feud. CSI Lucas Scott, who has been sent to investigate the death of patriarch Ronald Gaines, vows to protect Brielle from harm. His job might be easier if he could figure out who is behind the attacks and why Brielle is the recipient of them. With the assailant becoming more aggressive and desperate, time is of the essence. Lucas must think fast if he wants to keep himself and Brielle above ground.

The plot moves quickly, leaving you gasping for breath. Every time I thought I could put the book down, I was compelled to keep reading. If you want an action-packed story with lots of suspense combined with romance and faith, Hidden Mountain Secrets is for you. Clear your schedule get comfortable, and enjoy!

“Then I’ll have faith for you until yours is stronger.”

This was a lovely, Christian romance. It is part of a series that follows siblings as they find love. Our heroine finds her childhood crush back in town, a CSI working a case. He is also her older brother’s best friend. That is my favorite trope so there were some nice moments there. I liked the way we kept getting thrown off with evidence and guesses and suspects. Things definitely got more convoluted as the story went on. I read the book directly previous to this one in the series, but not any of the ones prior to that. This author is still pretty new to me. I liked that there weren’t any majorly children involved in danger in this book - those themes hit a little too close to this mama’s heart. There was a nice element of faith and of searching in the darkness and pain. There was also a solid emphasis on family and on friends.

I received an ARC of this book via Just Read Tours and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I am a HUGE Fan of the LOVE Inspired series and I really enjoy the Suspense Novels from this series! Hidden Mountain Secrets by Kerry Johnson is the latest novel I have read in this series of books.

Captivating and Intriguing are 2 words that immediately come to mind in regards to this book! The action begins right away in first chapter and continues throughout the book. Brielle Holt, Antique Dealer and Lucas Scott, CSI Agent are the 2 main characters in this book. Brielle uncovers something mysterious while working on a project. This leads to some tangled and dangerous issues. Lucas steps in to protect Brielle and help figure out who could be targeting Brielle. They begin to have feelings for one another and their friendship now leading to a relationship. I really enjoyed how they really worked together to keep each other safe and solve the mystery! The Suspense, Mystery, Romance and Action is packed into this short book and I truly enjoy it! I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who loves Suspense and a little romance. WONDERFUL BOOK!

Make sure you have ate something before diving into this wonderful book. Because starting even on the first page and reading this line, "Still, gossip swirled through Tunnel Creek like the BBQ-scented smoke from Marvin's Diner on a Friday night in summer." made me crave some bbq. While you are craving bbq this book takes you right into Brielle Holt finding someone who has broken into her antique shop and tries to take her down. Is this person the "Backyard Bandit" who has been breaking in everywhere else or is it someone else who has it out for Brielle? This book will take you on a roller coaster of events that makes you wonder just who is in on all of these attacks and will leave you in shock how it all comes together. I didn't want this book to end nor the series, but am looking forward to reading more books from this author. I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

I enjoyed this suspense novel. I loved the unexpected twist that the author through in. I also liked seeing characters from previous books and how much they cared about Brielle. I also liked seeing the romance between Brielle and Lucas develop as they spent time together trying to figure out who was after her. I liked how they were able to help each other to deal with some of their grief and guilt from the past and how it helped them to rely on the Lord more. I also liked that the story kept my attention and that I didn’t want to put it down. I thought this story had the perfect blend of romance and suspense and was a very enjoyable story.

I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors.  A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

Secrets...Suspense...Intrigue....and Romance. You will find all of these in Hidden Mountain Secrets by Kerry Johnson. Ms. Johnson has a true gift for writing. Her descriptive settings will make you feel like you are standing at the edge of the scene watching it unfold before your eyes.

“Watch out!” He turned and lunged at her sideways like a linebacker making a tackle. An enormous boom sent them flying off the porch as one unit. Backward. His iron embrace wrapped around her when they landed hard in the yard.” You can just picture Lucas running toward Brielle wrapping himself around her to protect her.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next and who is behind all the chaos. I honestly could not put the book down until I had finished it. This is one that you will definitely want to get...and soon!
