Being a single dad and starting catcher for the Charleston Raptors, I barely have time to breathe, much less fall in love. But my people-pleaser streak means I hired a new nanny as a favor to a friend.

She’s beautiful, smart, and running from something big, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting her somethin’ fierce. And one thing about me? I’ve never been afraid to fight for what I want.

Charleston was supposed to be my fresh start. No one here knows my father is a world-famous movie star, or that I was an almost-billionaire-heiress, and I want to keep it that way. Except I just got a job as a nanny for a perfect little boy whose father is drop dead gorgeous with ice blue eyes that see right through me.

In no time at all he’s in my bed and in my heart, but what happens when my past finally comes knocking? Can he truly keep us all safe? Or is my safe haven destined to become nothing but a memory?

ARC Read --

Firstly, thank you so much to Holly Crawford for the opportunity to be able to read this ARC! I have been looking forward to Aiden & Lyla's story.. since the moment I finished Finally Home. And this did **not** disappoint!

I am an absolute sucker for a single dad trope, so this book was extremely anticipated from me. But when I say that it completely exceeded all of my expectations, that doesn't even give it enough justice.

I burned for Aiden & Lyla just as quickly as they did for each other. Their compatibility was off the charts right from the first moment. Aiden's attention to Lyla's mental health, absolute perfection. Lyla's focus on learning about Aiden & Crew, while also battling her demons, is something to be recognized for how much of a badass she is.

AND CREW... I mean, really, he is just the star of the show. He is so intelligent and quick for being 6. The fact that he has the recognition of someone "needing a moment", I absolutely melted.

Overall - I absolutely loved this book. I laughed, I squealed with excitement, my feet were kicking in the air, and I most certainly cried. Beware of the 2nd epilogue... it's gonna get ya!

Thank you again Holly!

This book was not for me. It was cringey, I hated his nickname for her and how much he used it.
The only reason I didn’t dnf is because I was close enough to the end I wanted credit for enduring this.

ARC read!
I was so incredibly fortunate to receive the arc copy of this amazing book!
I will be the first to say I am not a single dad trope girlie. I’ve never given one above a 3 star. However Aidan Black defies all my rules and icks. This man is the biggest walking green flag of all the green flag book boyfriends. The TW’s of this book are so delicate to real life trauma and I loved how Holly took such care for each of the characters. The crumbs for future books was everything I wanted and I’m (not at all) patiently waiting for Copelands book!

Happy Release Day!

🍒 This book was freaking fantastic! Start to finish, I was obsessed with Aidan and Lyla’s story! 🍒

📖 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝

"𝘍***, 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘐'𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘚𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘺." 🥵

I was so excited to be able to read Aidan’s story after meeting him in 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞. 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 is a queen of writing characters that bury themselves deep within your heart.

Lyla is a woman on the run after escaping a toxic and physically abusive relationship. I absolutely fell in love with her. She’s one of the strongest FMCs I’ve read in a long time. As she works through her trauma she opens her heart to the hot MLB player single dad, Aidan, and his 5 year old son, Crew.

Aidan was everything I could ever want in a single dad! He was loving, caring and super protective of those he lets into his heart. He was so amazing at helping Lyla overcome her emotional trauma.

𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 went ALL OUT with the spice in this book! Aidan isn’t just a dad, he’s also a DADDY, if you know what I mean.

"𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦? 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘭𝘦𝘵'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘐'𝘮 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘸'𝘴 𝘥𝘢𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘋𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘺."

The bond that formed between Lyla and Crew was so dang special. I lived for all of the sweet moments between them.

I can’t wait for future books in this series and other series written by Holly! There were some characters introduced at the end of this book and I am BEYOND ready to learn more about them.

If you love books with a single dad that falls hard for his nanny, a strong FMC, and a ton of delicious spice, go add 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 to your TBR today!

Sweet story, with a hint of suspense

It was impossible not to fall for Aidan, Lyla and Crew throughout this story! I loved how they came together and the journey they went on during the book!

Aiden was such an amazing character! I loved how he was such a great dad, and that we also saw him struggle with things. It made him so much more relatable.

My favorite part of the book was the hint of suspense we got with Lyla's past and how that played out! It was the perfect balance to the story!

Baseball is definitely my new favorite sport in books and I can't wait for more in the series!

What to Expect:
- Sports Romance (Baseball)
- Single Dad/Nanny
- Hurt/Comfort
- Southern Gentleman
- FMC on the Run
- Hidden Identity
- Fast Burn

Crossed Up is the second book in the Grand Slam Love series. I loved this book so much! I read this story in one sitting and was locked in from start to finish. I am a sucker for the single dad trope, and Holly Crawford did this trope major justice.

Lyla is running from her past and is seeking a fresh start in Charleston, where nobody knows who she is. Enter Aidan. He is the catcher for the Charleston Raptors and the father to Crew. As a favor to a friend, Aidan hires Lyla to be Crew's nanny. It only takes a short time for Aidan to realize he wants more with Lyla.

I loved Lyla and Aidan together. They both had traumatic pasts and a lot of issues to work through. As they spent time together, they made each other feel more comfortable being vulnerable. I loved how they learned to trust and lean on each other. Lyla's past made it difficult for her to accept Aidan's love, but with lots of patience, Aidan was able to show Lyla she was worthy.

Lyla showed incredible strength throughout the story. She is a true survivor. I loved the bond Lyla developed with Crew. It was super sweet! Aidan was an amazing father to Crew, and I loved how protective he was of Crew and Lyla. Lyla and Aidan were perfect for each other, and I loved witnessing the growth and healing they experienced throughout the story. Crew stole the show for me. He was adorable. Aidan, Lyla, and Crew are the perfect little family.

Crossed Up took me on an emotional journey. It is a fantastic romance story with sizzling spice and a bit of suspense. This story is well-written, and the characters are believable and relatable. The epilogues definitely had the tears flowing. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next book in this series.

Thanks to Holly Crawford for providing me with an eARC. Opinions expressed are my own.

What to expect when reading Crossed Up;
-Single Dad/ Nanny
-Fast Burn
-Baseball
-FMC on the run

Okay I thought I loved Wren & Rhodes in book one Finally Home, nope this book took the money! 🙌

Lyla is trying to survive and running. Aidan is a single dad, him and his son Crew are the dynamic duo. Needing a new nanny that’s how Lyla and Aidan cross paths. He knows he has to keep things professional but how long can he hold on to his restrain? Plus Lyla has walls up so high, she can’t help but looking over her shoulder.

I think this is one of my top favorite books this year! Aidan is wow, he definitely unleashed a new kink: tongue rings!!!!!! When I say that made me hot and bothered where do I begin! First off Chapter 24 😮‍💨

Lyla and Aidan character growth and chemistry was off the charts! I love how caring and loving Lyla was she reminds me a lot of myself. Aidan was so patient with her. Honestly I could go on and on about these too but I don’t want to give too much away! I can’t wait to buy my physical copy!

Honorable mention/ thought: I can’t wait for Copelands story

Fav Line: “See something you like angel” and all the dirty talk Aidan says🥵

Make sure you get the book when it releases on July 24th💚

Arc Review - I just want to start off saying thank you Holly for gifting me an arc of this book, you never fail to amaze me with you writing!

This book was AMAZING! The amount of emotions I went through while hearing about Lyla and Aiden had me both in happy and sad tears! 🥹🤭🩷 and lets just say I AM A SUCKER for a single dad trope!

I loved Lyla and her character development throughout this book. Talking about fears and anxiety is something we all struggle with, and seeing her face it everyday and learn how to love again is no easy task. For that Lyla will forever be my favorite Grand Slam MMC (for now! 🩷)

And as for Aiden, just seeing him step up as a protector for not just Crew (his son) but Lyla. He falls hard and loves even harder for the people he cares about and thats what makes him so special! 💚💚

I will forever love the Grand Slam series and if you haven’t already added it to your TBR this is your sign!

⚾️hidden identity
⚾️fast burn
⚾️he comforts her when she’s hurting

Ughhh you guys this book is literally amazing.

Holly did such an amazing job writing this one and creating such a dynamic story with multi sided characters with such relatable stories and struggles.

Aidan + Lyla + Crew = 👨🏻‍🍳💋🤌🏼 (they are up there in my favorite fictional families)

in my opinion, Holly did and does an amazing job at making you feel connected to her stories through creating such relatable characters with relatable backgrounds. I was able to relate with being a child who experienced DA and understood the verbal remarks Lyla endured from her ex.

crew is literally the sweetest and I have such a clear mental image of what he looks like in my head and I just imagine him being so stinking cute with chubby cheeks and blonde hair (can’t remember what color hair he had but I’m imagining a blonde little boy)

i read this book while in a slump so it did take me a while to get through but it was so good and helped me get out of my slump! So excited!

I’m definitely gonna need to get the physical copy when it comes out!

The way I could feel every emotion that was happening in the books was insane. The love, the fear, the hurt, the tears, the laughter, all of it. This book had me hooked from the very beginning! The love I have for Aidan, Lyla, but especially little Crew is never ending. This is definitely a book I’ll read again, and honestly fall in love with again and again. I adore these characters and the way they fit into each others lives so perfectly. This book is a 10/10 and pure perfection, especially the first game they go to!

CW - breeding, mild Daddy kink (no age play), light food play, light edging, light spanking, semi public play, unsafe sex, very light Somnophilia, hand necklace

Tropes - single dad x nanny, sports - baseball, hidden identity, possessive

Representation - mental health rep - anxiety, PTSD, panic attack

This was such a sweet read 🥺. This is my first time reading a Holly Crawford book and I can say that it was a good time. I liked the characters; Aidan (MMC) felt genuine, Lyla (FMC) - sweet and attentive and Crew 🥺🥺🥺 the cutest little boy. They gelled quickly and I enjoyed just reading the scenes of Lyla looking after Crew, it really was sweet.

There were only 2 minor things that stopped this from getting 5 ⭐️. One being Wren's immediate reaction to Lyla relaying her trauma; it felt like she didn't take it seriously and it just felt weird to me. The second being Copeland's ability to dig up dirt and get a meeting with the FBI felt so left field. These things didn't have a major impact on me enjoying the book; I desperately needed a book without a third act breakup amongst everything I'm reading and this just hit the spot; it was a fun read.

Huge thank you to Holly for allowing me to be an ARC reader for “Crossed Up”! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

You guys.. Book 2 of the Grand Slam Love series does NOT disappoint in the slightest. The story follows Aidan Black, the starting catcher for the Charleston Raptors and Lyla Taylor, his newly hired nanny. This book has everything you would want in a single dad x nanny story. The tension, the pinning, the caring for one another is all done so so well. Something that I really loved about this story is how much these two wanted to put Crew, Aidan’s son, first. The communication between them about how the relationship might affect Crew and what might happen if things don’t work out between them was so heart warming and I think this communication was some of the best I’ve ever seen in a book like this!

Aidan and Lyla both have trauma from their past that they are facing constantly throughout the story. I would highly recommend checking out the triggers before reading. Some of the anxiety and mental health rep was really really well done. You can tell a lot of love and care went into portraying those elements of the characters correctly. Seeing some of their coping mechanisms and seeing them talked about correctly was so exciting for me. I also loved how patient Aidan was when it came to Lyla’s story. I won’t spoil any details but I will say that talking about her story is very hard for her. Seeing Aidan’s povs of wanting to know her story so badly and yet not pushing her to tell it was so sweet and it just made me love him more!

Also gotta give a little shoutout to Crew Black who is just the cutest kid EVER and definitely the main character of the book. He will steal your heart I can promise you that much.

If you haven’t read book 1 “Finally Home”, you don’t have to in order to enjoy “Crossed Up” but I would recommend it as it might help keep a more rounded picture of the characters and how they all met.

“Crossed out” comes out July 26th and I cannot recommend checking it out enough! Mark your calendars and get ready!

Ahhh this book was so good!!!

Single parent trope is one of my favs so as soon as I saw it listed for this book I knew I wanted to read it! I’m always weary with new to me authors but Holly did not disappoint!

I say this in almost every single parent book review I write but the relationship between the child and the partner is my favorite part of single parent books and this one was probably my favorite out of all! Lyla has a childhood education and psychology degree which definitely helps her with caring for Crew but I think more than that they just have a natural bond. From the moment Crew meets his new nanny, she becomes the second most important figure in his life and he quickly is ready to keep her for life.

Aidan has never truly wanted a relationship with any woman, even his son’s late mother was a one night stand that resulted in the most important person in his life being born. As soon as Lyla walks in his door to be his potential new nanny, he has feelings he’s never truly had before. After noticing her natural beauty the next thing Aidan notices about Lyla is she’s very skittish and he instantly wants to protect her and help her feel safe. After such a short time of Lyla in their life, Aidan wants more.

Lyla escaped a physically and emotionally painful relationship and has started her life over miles away. She has gone through intensive therapy but she still is jumpy and carries so much fear. Though it may not be 100% comfort, she feels some reprieve from her fear in the home with Aidan and Crew and cares for them deeply. Shes attracted to Aidan but is scared not only of how a relationship to could her but how it could hurt Crew if things don’t work. Aidan breaks down her wall but by bit and she sees things with him could work long term but can her past destroy everything?

I love the strength Lyla has throughout the story that only grows as we get further in. She may feel weak but it takes so much courage to leave your life and go into the unknown even if it means leaving abuse. Her protectiveness over the boys shows unconditional love.

The epilogues have me so ready to see what’s to come in books 3 and 4! Hope we see more of Aidan, Lyla, Crew and the gang!

“Even if we win the World Series today, you will still be the most important catch I’ve ever made.”
4.5/5⭐️

Premise: Crossed Up follows Aidan Black, single dad and starting catcher for the Charleston Raptors, and Lyla Taylor, a girl hiding from her past, when he hires her to be his son Crew’s new nanny. It doesn’t take them very long to realize the growing attraction between them and stop resisting the pull. But when Lyla’s past comes back to bite them, they have to figure out how to keep their newly formed little family safe and decide if it’s worth the danger.

Tropes: Single Dad/Nanny, Professional Baseball, Fast Burn, Southern Gentleman, Hurt/Comfort, FMC on the Run/Hidden Identity, Found Family
CW: domestic violence (on page), child abandonment (side character), premature birth (past reference), death of parent (on page, past), child neglect (past reference), drunk driving (past reference), forced food regulation and disordered eating (past reference), PTSD/panic attacks (on page), breeding kink, mild daddy kink (no age play)

I already knew I’d love Aidan’s story when we met him in book 1, Finally Home, but I didn’t expect to love it so much! Aidan Black was so swoon-worthy he’ll make you forget he’s blond. I don’t always love a single parent romance, but this book did it perfectly. Crew is just the sweetest little boy without being overly perfect and unrealistic, and Aidan is the best dad (I mean, not nearly enough dads let their sons watch so much Tinker Bell). I love the relationship between Aidan and Lyla, and the way it was written lets you really see and feel why they love each other. They both have pretty traumatic pasts and major daddy issues that they help each other work through. All around, the little family that these three build together is so beautiful and sweet, and I love them all so much!

The Spice: The spice is a good 4/5🔥 There are 6 chapters with spice, and they definitely get spicier than your typical rom-com. Rarely does a sweet rom-com like this have the kind of kink and spice level that this book has, and I’m obsessed. I don't generally like a daddy kink, but this book is now my exception. I do, however, always love a breeding kink, and there’s not nearly enough rom-coms out there with that.

Alright yall just sign me up for anything Holly Crawford writes from here on out because these baseball players make me weak! I mean that WAGS moment between Lyla and Aiden was beyond swoon-worthy! My early 000s nostalgia could barely handle the squealing I did through that whole scene! Not to mention Aiden has the most hilarious but filthiest one liners and I was cry laughing at every one! Now I wasn’t sure anyone could come close to Rhodes and Wrens relationship in Finally Home, but omg I fell in love with Aiden and Lyla instantly!! Poor Aiden just wants to find a reliable nanny to watch over his adorable six-year-old son Crew, during the baseball season…one who is focused on his son and not trying to slither there way into a relationship with him, and when his best friends fiancée offers a solution Aiden is left with little to no choice but to accept. Of course Aiden wasn’t expecting tiny, beautiful Lyla to be who showed up at his door. But watching Lyla with Crew, Aiden knows he’s found a solution to his problem… and let in a new one because Lyla is everything he’s ever wanted in a nanny but also everything he’s ever wanted in a wife. Lyla has secrets though secrets that are coming after her and while she’s falling more in love with her job, a little boy that makes her heart melt and his beyond caring father she’s afraid it will all end in tragedy if her past catches up with her. Aiden isn’t afraid of the past though as he has his own skeletons, and he’s set his mind on not letting his chance with Lyla slip. If you love an amazing sports romance, with twist and turns, tension, amazing found family, the cutest little boy, hilarious banter, quite a few spicy moments and the most epic love story between a timid but strong and loving nanny and her tough, protective and caring boss, then Crossed Up is a must read!!

In Crossed Up, Holly Crawford serves up a swoon-worthy romance that hits all the right notes, blending heartwarming moments with just the right amount of tension. The story revolves around Aiden, a single dad and the starting catcher for the Charleston Raptors, who is juggling the demands of his career with raising his adorable son. He’s got no time for romance—until Lyla comes into his life.

Lyla is trying to start over in Charleston, hiding from a past she’s desperate to escape. She lands a job as a nanny for Aiden’s son, and it doesn’t take long before sparks fly between her and Aiden. Aiden, with his ice-blue eyes and unyielding determination, isn’t the kind of man who lets something—or someone—he wants slip through his fingers. Lyla, despite her best efforts to keep her secrets and her heart safe, finds herself falling for this gorgeous, fiercely protective single dad.
