Kael has been known as “Ghost” for longer than he can remember. He has a perfect reputation for efficiency, coldhearted precision, and a marked lack of conscience in his chosen field. He’s the perfect mercenary… except when it comes to Bunny. With her rabbit-eared hoodies and devilish, teasing smiles, she has eluded him and haunted him for months. But just when he finally has her, Kael realizes that Mattie is not all that she seems. Her circumstances have her wrapped in dark shadows that could squeeze the laughing, bright light from her eyes for good, and now she’s asking for his help. A cat-and-mouse, rivals-to-lovers, forced proximity romance with tons of spice, a little danger, and a lot of snarky banter!
Devon is a published author who lives in the mountains of Wyoming with her husband, their seven children, and a menagerie of animals. Devon's favorite thing is writing in silence with a good playlist on in the background, but she will settle for her usual ambiance of bickering children, barking dogs, and cheerio crumbs under her butt.
She has a Bachelors of Science from Brigham Young Universtiy-Idaho, and her currently published works include Lunula, Inito, K-Love, and Faie and Fury.
Love OP is all about Mattie and Ghost who have made appearances in past books but finally get their story. Mattie aka bunny has been on the run for years. Ghost was hired by her parents to track her down and bring her home. Ghost has never let anyone get away…except for Mattie. And she’s done it three times now. Mattie is doing everything she cannot to go home and it starts to sound alarms in Ghost’s head as to what the motives of her parents truly are and whether or not Mattie is safe.
I absolutely adored both characters in this book. Mattie enjoys making Ghost angry and it’s fun to read. She doesn’t hold back from egging him on. There’s a bit of spicy but not a crazy amount and I found it to be a good balance. The one thing I would say I was sad about while reading this was that the other books mentioned past and future characters a lot more than this book did. I enjoy getting mini cameos from past favorites. Other than that I enjoyed this read and can’t wait for more of Devon Atwood!
Love Op definitely moved up to one of my favorite books from Devon Atwood. She hasn’t disappointed me yet by anything that she writes. This book has so much sass, and you could feel the tension between characters and I absolutely loved it. Ghost has become one of my most favorite characters. I couldn’t put this book down. I read it in a day and may or may not have cried cause there wasn’t anymore…. If you haven’t checked out this series. I HIGHLY recommend it.
Devon Atwood does it again!! This is by far my favorite of the series! The line she walked between her usual romance and dark romance in this thriller rom com was genius! I had so much fun reading Ghost and Mattie’s story. While there were dark parts, which I don’t mind, the book still held her usually witty and fun banter. And I have yet to read a spicy scene by her that I didn’t like, so there’s also that. 🌶️🌶️.5
This is the last book in the series and I'm sad. I've come to love this series and the hope it brings. These are all interconnected stand-alone books, but you do get easter eggs about the other books.
We've seen Ghost throughout the entire series, and he finally finds love in his last mission. It takes a spunky pre-med heiress to break his heart down. There were several plot twists I didn't see coming and love them. It reminds me of the Dirty Dancing at the end where they say, "Nobody puts baby in the corner". Nobody is allowed to mess with bunny even her parents.
Matilda Thorne (aka Bunny) has been on the run for a year now. She learned the truth about her parents’ business and the reason why their business partner wanted her. She escaped to save herself. Her parents hired Ghost to track her down and bring her back to them. He was successful but Bunny kept getting away from him but this last time she doesn’t escape him. She also hopes to get Ghost onto side.
My thoughts:
This was a cute cat and mouse story. Their banter was so good. I laughed throughout the book, but there are some serious moments. The chemistry between Ghost and Bunny was well written.
I plan to read more in this series and other books by Devon Atwood.

This is my first read by Devon Atwood and I LOVED IT!! Her writing is so fun and the story was well developed. The characters were fleshed out and I adored all the witty banter!!
Ghost and Bunny have turned in to some of my favorite characters. Grumpy "Hitman, not a Hitman" meets Mouthy Runaway Heiress. There's murder and secrets and intrigue. Trauma and healing and love. Jokes and jabs and so much that will keep you laughing. TOTAL Rom Com with a hint of thriller and the right amount of spice for the plot!
4.25⭐️ 2🌶 I have been WAITING for ghost since the moment he was introduced. And once again, Devon Atwood is the queen of witty banter 👑 Kael is just 👌 Mattie is bratty but in the best way possible Honestly while there wasn't as much spice as I'm used to (however there is a 2 chapter scene 😉), I just loved the plot of this book. I was on the edge of my seat biting my nails anticipating what her parents were up to. The tension between Kael and Mattie was perfect! The song Fire up the Night by New Medicine perfectly encompasses the tension and spice between them ❤️ I was a wee bit disappointed we didn't get to see any of the other characters from Love and other jobs series tho 😞
Ghost and Mattie are my favorite couple. I mean, I LOVE this whole series, how do they just keep getting better and better?! When I read this it played seamlessly in my mind like a cinematic experience. Their banter had me ROLLING. Seriously Atwood’s banter is top tier. The tension… the TENSION.. 😮💨❤️🔥 It’s funny, it’s spicy, it’s high stakes, it’s perfection.
Love OP, book #5 in the "Love and Other Jobs" series, and it's the last book for this series :-( I was lucky enough to ARC read all 5 books in this series, as I loved each book.
I do have to say that Love OP was not my favorite of the series, but I did enjoy it! There is a strong and handsome MMC, a FMC that is on the run.
Ghost is hired to find Mattie (Bunny), and to deliver her back to her parents. This has been going on for about a year, and Ghost has had enough. Mattie is always getting away from him again, it's just not worth it... Untill her parents decide to raise the price and that would mean Ghost is so much closer to his goal to retire early. They even hand him her location this time.
So Ghost goes Bunny-hunting. And he finds and eventually captures said Bunny. But... this Bunny won't let him deliver her to her parents, she even offers double of what her parents will pay. She asks him to help her, help her get out of the grip her parents try to hold on her and help her from a future that is frightening.
Together they make a plan to not even make her parents stop hunting her, but also to stop them for good. Of course this will not go without a lot of witty banter, sarcastic comments (especially from Mattie), sparks that will spark- more and more-, and spicy scenes.

Devon Atwood does what she does very good. Write a romcom with spice in it. This romcom is not just funny, there is also action and some thriller scenes. So in this book you get a lot: rom-com, spice, thriller, action. A great combo, and she writes it well!
- Cat and Mouse game, - Enemies to lovers, - Morally grey MMC, - Soft dom, - Knife play, - A feisty FMC with a lot of sarcasm, - Touch her and die.
First, I need to address my thoughts about this series as a whole. This series has been one of my favourites I've read this year, which honestly, I did not expect at all. I signed up for some light and easy smut, and sure, I got that, but I got so much more. Every book felt unique enough to leave a mark, and had something else it excelled at. My favourite book in the series is probably the second one. But there wasn't a single one that felt lacking. This book was hard to read at times, particularly the whole family relationship. At the start of the book, there was a disclaimer that this book would be the darkest in the series, and that was true. But I also felt like it wasn't quite dark enough. Mattie's snarky, sassy personality served to balance out the heavy stuff, and I felt like it would've been okay to address that more. There's nothing bad about addressing trauma, and I felt like this book glanced over it just a smidge too fast. Aside from that one particular complaint, I loved it. I wish we got a little bit more tension with our light banter, and I don't just mean the sexy kind. I said a similar thing about the third book, but the situation was really high stakes, but it didn't always reflect that accurately. There were a lot of times Mattie was doing stupid shit and being her bratty, sassy self, where I really wished she would stop breaking the tension and take the whole thing seriously. But I guess the author wanted to keep it light, it's a romcom, not a thriller. I will be reading more of this author, and I hope those books will pleasantly surprise me the way this series has.
~ “I already caught you, Bunny. You’re not going anywhere, so whatever has hurt you, I’ll face it with you. If it’s not a problem, then I’ll hold you until the nightmares stop. If it’s a problem, then I’ll maim, threaten, or eliminate whatever it is.” ~
This was a bit bittersweet. I have been looking forward to Ghost story but I'm sad that this is the lost book of the Love and Other Jobs Series.
Mattie was a hoot when it came to getting on Ghosty's last nerve 😂. Her savvy ways when it came to getting away from him was just pure cleverness.
Ghost was hire for one job and one job only. Find her and deliver her back to her parents. His first impression is that she is just a rich bratty girl crying for her parent's attention. But little by little he's realizing that there is more happening and he finds that he's very compelled to find out what secrets her parents are hiding.

Love Op by Devon Atwood is book five in the Love and Other Jobs Series. Oh my gosh I was really looking forward to this book, I was so excited to read it. When I heard who the characters were going to be; I was eagerly awaiting to get my hands on it. Let me tell you it was worth the wait, I devoured it. I read the whole book in one sitting and didn’t even think about being an adult until I was finished. This has some of my favorite tropes such as rivals to lovers (yes!) and forced proximity. But hands down my favorite element of this book is the banter followed by the chemistry between Mattie and “Ghost”! I honestly enjoyed reading their relationship plus I absolutely dug how she was constantly pushing his buttons. There’s spice in this book not a lot but the perfect balance. I liked the whole cat and mouse storyline that had a touch of danger and the humor just made this an incredible read. This was written marvelously with the plot being interesting and engaging. The characters are just beautifully written and that makes me smile. This whole book is just a top tier experience. Devon Atwood is an incredible author and I can’t recommend her books enough. This series is just on another level of great, if you’re looking for some RomCom books then really look no further.
Well, this is now my new favorite book by Devon Atwood. This book consumed me from page one. Bunny and Ghost were magnetic and larger than life. Both running from their daemons and learning to trust.
Bunny is feisty and sarcastic in the best, most relatable ways. And Ghost is very machine like, that is until Mattie (Bunny) fries his circuit board.
There is an appearance from characters in another book, so while you can read this one separately, I would recommend reading the full series so you can understand the breadth and width of the endeavor of taking down this company of criminals entails.
You can see Devon's writing improve greatly over the books and she is quickly honing in her craft and mastering it. In some of the earlier books I felt like it was a bit of a smorgasbord and a bit chaotic. But she's really streamlining and developing her plot well and the timing is perfection with this one. Would I have liked to see the bad guy suffer a bit more, YES. But I shall live, with the HEA instead. Tis' good enough for me.

Love Op is the fifth and unfortunately last book in Devon Atwood’s Love and Other Jobs series. I have to say that this has been one of my favorite series and I will definitely read again and again. This is Ghost’s book and as much as I love all of the mmcs in this series, Ghost may be my favorite. Ghost is a bounty hunter and he’s done other jobs in previous books helping out the other characters in this series. He finds himself trying to get Maddie to take her home to her parents, but she continually finds ways to escape him.
Maddie is a bubble gum chewing, med school dropout who is on the run to keep away from her parents. She wears a hoodie with bunny ears on it earning her the nickname “Bunny” from Ghost. When he finally catches her, chaos ensues.
Ghost just wants to retire and buy himself a ranch with lots of land. Maddie has good reason to stay away from her parents and offers Ghost double to help her finally escape her scheming parents.
This was a fantastic read with lots of great banter between Ghost and Maddie. Ghost is a dominant and Maddie is a smart and sassy woman who loves driving Ghost crazy. I fell in love with these characters and I have become a huge fan of Devon Atwood. I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!
If you are new to love and other jobs this isn’t the book to start with. Start with love Rx and work your way through you will thank me later. Now come back once you have read the first 4 books. Ok your back? Good.
Holy banter this book really started in the previous book when we run into ghost again and get to meet Mattie his unwilling participant in the ultimate game of hide and seek. He never losses yet she has bested him and disappeared 3 times. He’s done he’s ready to retire when he is given a price he can’t refuse. This time he’s come prepared and will do anything to get his little bunny back to her parents. It’s a simple business deal, just concerned parents wanting their errant heiress daughter back home safe. Isn’t it?
Let’s start with the banter! I spent half my time laughing my butt off. The tension between ghost and Mattie is so thick you can taste it. The spice is very spicy and the closet scene is my favorite. Ghost was always in the back ground of several of the books and each interaction just made me want to read his story. Things get a little dark and twisty for a bit but as always there is the happiest of HEAS
Ok so this book starts out with Ghost contemplating on taking the job again from the Thorne’s. The Thornes daughter has been on the run for almost 2 yrs.
When Mattie sees Ghost for the third time she freaks and runs into the river. Of course, ghost jumps in the river after her, and in the meantime when he does and pulls her out, a couple shows up and helps them so they have to act like the there a couple. So here is where the story starts again for Maddie and ghost.
Had to drug Maddie and when she woke up, she started freaking out, but she started getting sick in the meantime like super sick . This is where the relationship starts out that her parents hired again to bring her home now you she does not want to go home. She is afraid of her parents come to find out. The reason is because her parents are dealing illegally in the pharmaceutical area highly recommend this I don’t give too many spoilers. This is the fifth book in the series and I believe it’s the last one, but it’s very good, and he calls her little bunny because she has a sweatshirt with bunny ears on the head of the sweatshirt. So would that be said go read this book .
A cat-and-mouse, rivals-to-lovers, forced proximity romance with tons of spice, a little danger, and a lot of snarky banter!
Love OP follows Mattie, who is on the run from her parents, and Ghost, who has been hired by her parents to bring her home. and she definitely gives him a run for his money. this book is darker than devon atwoods other books but i still throughly enjoyed it anytime there’s really good banter more than likely I’m gonna give it five stars and this book did not disappoint the sass and banter was definitely five stars on its own. at some points you are for sure going to be laughing out loud mattie is just hilarious it is a slowburn but definitely worth it the tension between these two was amazing and you could definitely feel it. even though they went back and forth with each other with jabs you could really see the connection they had. I really enjoyed it and I highly recommend it. I would definitely start with the first book in the series though before reading this one.

This is a spicy romcom with dark/thriller vibes added in! Ghost and Mattie reappear for their own journey after a glimpse of them in Love JD! Ghost has been on the hunt for Mattie for over a year, and their cat and mouse game runs into quite a twist! The laughter for this started immediately in the prologue! Mattie and Ghost 👻 are so funny! I absolutely LOVE the chapter art at the beginning of each chapter with the hearts and bunny 🐇! While reading this, I highlighted a LOT of fun quotes in my kindle! Ghost reminds me of the darker side of my husband 16+ years ago when we met. He would do anything to protect me, and I could see it in his eyes. I definitely enjoyed the thriller aspect added to the book because I'm a big thriller girl at heart. There were some intense dark moments. Look for trigger warnings: knife play, non-consenual bondage, drugging, blood, guns, violent death. Ghost and Mattie used some words in their banter and descriptions that were intense that left me blushing for sure. This was not my favorite of the series (love ESQ was 🐺) but it was really good!
If you love a morally grey mercenary who’s possessive, protective and stone cold when he needs to be… then you’re gunna love Ghost. Add in his sarcastic wit, touch her and ☠️ attitude as well as him being a Soft dOm?? It’s safe to say I’m a ghost kinda gal!
Mattie just so happens to be his perfect match. She’s sassy, smart and sarcastic, happily taking any and every opportunity to wind up the ghost and leave him reeling with her snarky wit...
and when they stop working against each other and team up… that’s when things really get interesting…
I honestly adore the relationship these two characters develop, the chemistry between them is so well done and I love the consistent banter they bounce off each other throughout the story.
if you’re looking for a rom-com, cat-and-mouse, rivals-to-lovers, fOrced proximity romance with tons of spice, a little danger, and a lot of snarky banter… then I suggest you pick up Love Op!
Love Op is the perfect mix of witty banter and steamy sarcasm with spice sprinkled throughout 😍
Mattie, oh so affectionately named Bunny, leads Kael, very aptly named Ghost, on multiple cat and mouse chases. Ghost manages to catch her, and Bunny is obviously one slippery mouse and manages to get away. (Very Tom and Jerry-esque and I love it!)
Fast forward another year. Ghost gave up after being outwitted by Bunny twice, and not wanting to damage his spectacular record as a mercenary for hire. Bunny’s parents employ him yet again to catch her (obviously with an increased price tag at the perfect moment for him to accept) and Ghost is on the hunt yet again.
More successful this time, Ghost captures Bunny. But. She has a very intriguing offer for him that is hard to refuse.
Mercenary for hire. Heiress to billions on the run. Undeniable attraction between the two… what could ever go wrong?
First… go read the books that come before if you haven’t read them… this is book #5 in the series… and my favorite so far. I devoured it in less than 24 hours.
I am *obsessed* with Ghost (Kael). Literally. I’ve never been one to call a book character a “book boyfriend” but holy wow. He is written in a way that I finally get it. Hah!
The banter between Mattie and Kael is *chef’s kiss*, and I love the transformation of Kael’s hard exterior simply melting slowly for Mattie… I love the way she falls for him but my favorite thing was how he was THERE for her. He was hers from the start, he just didn’t realize it for a bit too long…
The cat and mouse, enemies to lovers aspect to this book is fantastic. The spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️ but as always I just LOVE how Devon writes these characters. It’s like she’s known them her whole life.
I am always so excited to be part of the street team that gets an early peek at these books!!

Love Op is Book 5 in Atwoods Love and Other Jobs Series, and I have been lucky enough to read all of them. When I finish one I always think, wow this the best one yet and that was true again this time. I absolutely loved this one. The banter between the characters was fantastic. I thought the banter in LoveMD was unmatched until now. In LoveOp, the MMC Ghost is hired to hunt down Mattie aka Bunny by her parents. She has been gone a long time and they want her returned home. Ghost has never failed at a job he was hired to do but Mattie is not making it easy on him at all. Mattie is feisty as it gets and she keeps getting away from home. I loved the relationship that is formed between the two of them. I highly recommend the series, Id read them in order though even though they are stand alone, the characters kind of interlink. Five star easy to read.

This is book 5 in the Love and Other Jobs series and this book is everything I could have asked for. I've loved Ghost so much since book 3 and I'm so happy he got his own love story. He deserved it.
If your looking to get into morally grey characters than this one is for you. It's got light hearted banter a slow building of tension and an unhinged ending that got me reeling.
The dynamic between Mattie and Ghost is everything to me. They were teased together in book 4 and carried over to Love Op and I was just so excited I had to put this off for a few days. I didn't want it to end.
Honestly reading Devon's books gives me so much life. Devon puts so much love into her characters that I really wished I was apart of their friend group in their little world.
From the moment we met Ghost I wanted more of his story and it absolutely did not disappoint!! Mattie has been on the run and Ghost has been hired to find her and bring her back home. For everything Ghost has done, this should be simple enough right? Little did he know Mattie is one fast (and sneaky) little bunny😉 after 3 failed attempts he is now determined to get her back home, by any means possible, he is ready to retire and the offer on the table is just what he needs.
While there is some darker aspects in this book compared to the previous in the series, Devon does a phenomenon job at breaking it up with the lighter moments. The banter in this book is top tier🤌 This book did it all, I was giggling and kicking my feet like a school girl, heart racing from the thrill, blushing from some of the things said. Absolutely LOVED it.
Kael has been trying to catch Mattie for some time now, failing three times. He had officially closed the case, but then received an offer he couldn’t refuse and decided to try one last time. Mattie has been on the run for two years, growing exhausted from constantly watching her back. When a video of her goes viral on social media, she panics and plans to move again. However, Kael is too fast and catches up with her before she has the chance to run…
I recommend reading at least “Love JD" first to understand their background and the build-up to their story better. I love that you get both POV’s and how the chapters are connected to each other. It’s comforting that every book in this series is in the same universe and that they are connected the way they are. It is a little darker than her previous books, but it’s definitely needed to tell the story right. (Check TW)
This is my first book of the "Love and Other Jobs" series, and it won't be my last. Devon's story made it easy to get sucked in, and made it hard to set it down when needed.
It is fun to watch Mattie's and Ghost/Kael's interactions. The cat and mouse game that they play. How they push each other and change them. It was nice to see Mattie slowly open up and trust Kael, let him in, let him help. And watching Kael flounder trying to capture Mattie over and over was funny. Their chemistry comes easily, the banter and playful fighting, and eventually the physical attraction that neither can hold back any longer.
This can get dark at times so make sure to check the TWs but this is a cute rom-com type story that many will love reading.
Devon Atwood does it yet again! In the final installment of her “Love and Other Jobs” series, we follow Ghost and the ever elusive Mattie as he attempts to capture her one final time.
I have followed the “Love and Other Jobs” series from the start. The banter in this novel had me laughing out loud. The tension in this one is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
My favorite line:
“You’ve been on the struggle bus, Ghost. I don’t want to totally demoralize you,”
Had me in stitches.
Be sure to check the trigger warnings to be sure. While I encourage you to check out this amazing story, I highly, highly encourage you to start with Love RX. You will not be disappointed. Another 5 ⭐️ read for me from Devon Atwood.
Book 5 in the Love and Other Jobs series just keeps upping its game! This book follows Ghost and Mattie, both familiar faces in the series. Mattie is on the run, and Ghost is hired to track her down. Their cat-and-mouse chase is packed with tension, including some steamy moments, adding a spicy layer to the storyline.
Amidst the thrill of the chase, this book is a rollercoaster of mystery, intrigue, and a hint of danger. Can Ghost successfully locate, capture, and finally keep hold of Mattie? Or will she slip through his fingers once again? And could their game of cat and mouse evolve into something deeper?
To uncover the answers to these burning questions, dive into this gripping read! The Love and Other Jobs series has been a wild ride so far, and this won't disappoint!
I really loved the beginning of this book. Mattie was HILARIOUS and the way she kept duping Ghost made me excited to continue on… but when he actually caught her, I was bored out of my mind. I even like both characters separately but like the author’s other books, the build up isn’t as satisfying as I’d hope it would be. There’s so much filler that I could truly care less about. When Mattie is sick and suffering in the car, I just got upset. It’s the fl character suffering - usually by the hands of the ml - becomes dependent on him and he lusts over her when she’s in the most extremely embarrassing/painful situations. Not into it. At least Mattie really did everything she could to save her tail.
