Jamie was my first.
I was seventeen and he made me feel cared for, even if only for a moment.
Sometimes you meet the right person but at the wrong moment in your life.
So much has happened over the last thirteen years. I am not that young woman anymore. I have known pain and fear. If I am to stay safe I need to stay hidden from the world.

The easygoing camaraderie between Jamie and his friends in chapter one lulls you into a lovely, relaxed reading atmosphere where you’re keen to know more about this red-headed mystery girl. Then, bam! Greta’s first chapter hits you right in the middle of your heart! That makes you sit up and take notice, let me tell you.
The emotional tug-of-war continues, on and off, throughout the story; however, there are more lighthearted than heavy moments, including some fun banter between the lead characters, Jamie and Greta.
Jamie is such a sweetheart of a character who absolutely cherishes Greta. He is thoughtful and considerate but doesn’t push his agenda. Greta is the strong member of her family, keeping things together. She puts others before herself, and during her high school years, I wanted to knock a few heads together! See—those feelings again!
This second chance at love romance is a feel-good story, and you really do feel terrific when you finish the book.
