Yokai cats—there are so many different types, it's hard to choose! Do amabie, kappa, nurikabe, or nekomata not seem like the right pets for you? A collection of comics featuring the further adventures of various yokai cats and their owners.

My favorite of these is the Korpokkur; it's so cute! I think just about all of these yokai cats have appeared in other volumes. I'm not positive about the Konaki Jijii, Satori, Warai Onna, or Umibozu. Those might be new this volume. If so, they were all fun additions. I have some rabid Yokai Cat fans who cannot wait to get their reading eyes on this volume, so I'm processing it as soon as possible for the library.

I picked this up because it looked cute and quick, and indeed it was! Told in a 4-koma format (4 panels of equal size per page/story), each strip provides life snippets with various cats/cat-adjacent yokai. Despite the touch of supernatural hinted at in the title, all the humour is really human and likely all too relatable to any cat owner.

I realise I accidentally picked up the 8th book in this series without reading any of the prior 7 volumes, but honestly, there isn’t much set up needed and a reader could likely pick up any volume of this series and still find it a fun read.

This is a fantastic series. It focuses on various cats with supernatural characteristics (characteristics which are representative of the type of Japanese mythical beast the cats are). For the most part, they're 4-panel slice-of-life vignettes. The stories are all cute, humorous, heart-warming, or a combination of all three. This is a great series if you're just looking for something to destress with. I've already requested the next volume.

Love this series so much. I think we have some new cats in this volume which is lovely. Happy to see some favourites remain. And my favourite favourites Azuki-arai (bean washer) and Nekomata get big sections in this volume. I love them all!

More cuteness. Nothing in particular stands out, but I've been reading a lot of these, so the blur together, and I was ill when I read this. Still enjoy it, of course.
