Ummm...that ending where she thought he wanted her purse because he liked it was just...weird?
I do enjoy the trope of fake dating, but don't feel like I am getting the full scope of the story, so look forward to reading the light novel to see which medium I prefer.
I also like the trope of "he falls first", so this series is so far keeping me happy. Not over the moon, but it's only been two volumes and nothing has stood out as too boring or rage-y to stop reading it.
3, solid and I want more, stars.

"Who would've thought pretending to be a couple would be so difficult?"
Ohoho! Indeed, who would have thought! 🤭
I can't put my finger on it, but I didn't find this volume QUITE as enchanting as the first volume, despite the many elements I loved previously being just as prevalent here?
I sort of wonder if it's because the initial setup is over and now we're getting deeper into this story world and other characters. I would say that's not a bad thing because I really loved seeing new faces, though I especially loved seeing more of Rick because he is hilarious with the advice he has been giving Giles!
And speaking of, he is quite the natural charmer! I was surprised by how quickly he started to become jealous, though it also made me giggle because this is definitely the trope of "he fell first"! Plus with that, I LOVED how he appreciated Fiona's work and said it was important! Considering that is her dream and her livelihood, it spoke VERY highly of him!
Fiona of course is wonderful! I really really loved hearing more about her through other people, including how much she cares for this one certain woman. She is truly amazing and really hope that when she falls hard for Giles, she can see she neither give up her dream nor give him up, but can still do all she is doing, but by his side. <3
Overall, I enjoyed this volume quite a bit, but the last chapter had me excitedly looking forward to the next volume to see what happens next!

For his reluctance with the initial plan, it seems Giles is surprisingly adept at playing his role in this game of theirs. There are already small tells on both sides that it could end up a case of protesting too much and inadvertently finding something better than they imagined, which would be somewhat expected with this type of set up, but would also be adorable the way these two characters compliment each other while playing their roles so well and still being rather unique in their own charms. Fiona may have inadvertently gained another protector along the way.

Positively charming
The characters continued to be quite charming and I'm enjoying the story development. Pacing is solid and I'm quite curious to see where the story will go. I hope the volumes come out in a timely manner, it might be a very difficult to wait a long period of time between releases.

I just love how adorable they are together!! and fiona's backstory is getting more and more wonderful....she is such a great fmc. I'm dying for a good jealous suitor moment though, hopefully one of giles' former admirers does something dramatic soon

I loved this volume so much I finished this super fast! Giles is getting jealous when he sees other guys near Fiona. She keeps helping people and being kind, that’s what Giles likes about her.
