Now that I have completed the series, I can confidently say that it had potential for more.
We essentially jumped from volume 2 to the final volume, but it could have easily included more volumes with different adventures.
The setup for this story allowed for much more than this brief 3-volume series, but for some reason, that didn't happen.
Perhaps it didn't gain much popularity in Japan, where it was originally released. Maybe the author simply didn't want to extend the story further. Regardless, we still have an enjoyable 3-volume series to read.

What an ending! When all the truth about everything is revealed, right to the final page, it was moving. Could the story have extended, exploited lol, yes of course it could have been. I am happy though the author didn't. It made the ending so much more powerful.

Such a satisfying, but sad, ending to an unexpectedly good series.

Esperava bem mais.
Masasumi Kakizaki é um verdadeiro artista. Um espetáculo em cada página. Chega a arrepiar!!

This work was fun, not astonishing but fun. Even though it has the same flaws as most stories about immortal entities: they rarely act as they were thousand years old.
However, the big final reveal was incredibly silly. I can’t believe someone came up with such a lazy and nonsensical explanation for 4,000 years of slaughter.
No wonder AI can write at a human level...

4.5/5
I really enjoyed this trilogy. The conclusion was satisfying and everything wrapped up well. The art continued to be grotesque and beautiful all at the same time.
I really enjoyed the backstory explanation of how everything came to be. That being said...
If it interests you, I'd encourage you to give this a shot. It's only three volumes, but it's well done. This is the end of the review if you don't want to read spoilers.
***SPOILERS AHEAD***
I felt like the twist at the end was a bit cheap. I don't love the "friend is actually the villain" trope, and I felt like it kind of came out of nowhere here. While it did ultimately make sense and resolve well, it just felt a bit uninspired.
Otherwise I really enjoyed the series overall. I maintain that if you enjoyed Berserk, or Claymore, you'll probably enjoy this as a quick read as well. The monsters are excellent, and the characters are grey. Everything is well nuanced pretty well, so I'd encourage anyone interested in this to give it a shot.

This series was so good and it definitely had more potential. It felt like it cut some parts between volume 2 and 3 and it wouldn't been near perfect if we could just see a bit more. The final fight scene was really good and once again the art was god-level.
My only wish that there was at least one more volume diving deeper into the story and how the original 7's philosophy and actions went-on.

This series is so damn good, and too short. I liked that they did not drag the story out but I would have been happy with a few more volumes. The art is gorgeous, the character and creature designs excellent and the story brutal, bittersweet and highly engaging.
