You're Not Stuck: No, He Won't Change. But You Will!

Rate this book
What would happen if you took all the energy you use to try to change your partner and instead changed yourself?

Romantic comedy author and host of the You’re Not Stuck podcast Kat Addams is here to tell you what you’ve needed to hear all along.

No, he won’t change. But you will!

Stop fighting for your relationship and start fighting for yourself. You’re not stuck. You’re capable of building the confidence and mindset needed to grow from victim to survivor and take back control of your life.

Kat uses a brutally honest approach of inner work and progressive practices to empower victims to leave their situation. With a humorous, gritty, and relatable tone, she offers a fresh perspective on this emotional journey—or as she likes to call it, a shameless, shitty adventure.

As a domestic violence survivor herself, Kat knows the struggle is real. She’s an outspoken advocate for victims and a vocal testimony that life outside of someone else’s control is pure magic.

You’re Not Stuck is part comic relief, shedding light on a dark topic, and part motivational kick in the pants to take action toward freedom. With a heavy theme of the ripple effect, this book tells how one life changed can change another, and together, we can stop surviving and start living.

Whether you’re struggling in a toxic relationship, a dead-end job, or you just want to escape misery, Kat’s here to wake you up to realize that you’re the key to your mental prison and only you can save yourself. Your life is waiting for you on the other side. You’re not alone, and you’re not stuck either.

Kat Addams is an author of contemporary romantic comedies. She’s had a passion for making readers laugh since she wrote her first over-the-top comic book at the age of eight, earning her high marks and concerning looks from her grade-school teachers. She’s a graduate of the University of Memphis, where she studied English literature and creative writing, and fell in love with the rom-com genre. Her books can be described as equal parts shameless and heartwarming with a heavy dose of heat.

When she’s not writing about exotic men and daydreaming of worldly travels, you can find Kat in her hometown of Memphis, drinking craft cocktails on patios and raising her mini-me with a girl-power attitude—but not necessarily in that order. In her downtime, she loves to embark on outdoor adventures, empower other women, and lose herself in good books and good music.

Kat satisfies her darker side by writing paranormal romance with wicked humor under the name Fritzi Cox. Fritzi provides Kat with an outlet to cause mayhem and debauchery with an element of suspense. Whether you’re reading a book from either Fritzi or Kat, you’re guaranteed a hilarious adventure.

Empowering is one word to describe this book. Kat Addams gives tips and exercises to help the reader change their life for the better and get unstuck. She gives suggestions to help take control by shifting mindsets, minimizing those pesky negative thoughts, and turn them around in ways that can be manifested. She writes from the heart and wants to help others succeed in getting unstuck and out of abusive relationships.

I do not often read no fiction and have never read self-help before but this was written by a very gifted story teller so I could not resist and was so not disappointed.

Gritty and real this journey of self discovery is very inspiring and so helpful. Makes me feel very hopeful that there really might be a light at the end of that tunnel.

Wow! This book was an unexpected experience.
I am not (fortunately) in need of the restructuring that this author details, but if I were - this book would be perfect!

The author's honest and heartbreaking retelling of her experience with her abusive ex-husband was difficult, but very compelling. So much of her hard learned lessons are good reminders for any person.

This was easy to read and connect with, and I am glad I read this story. I will definitely be instituting some of the tools suggested in these pages, and appreciate the author's desire to empower and elevate others. I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this one, and voluntarily leave my review.

I certainly hope you don't need this book, but if you do - I hope you read and use the tools and exercises that this contains. 🙂 "You are not stuck."

I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book offers a how-to unstick yourself, especially from the inside, offering the gift of perspective that can be so difficult to see when in the middle of something awful. It suggests internal work that: a. won't be obvious to an abusive partner, and b. can help someone see beyond the tunnel vision of their current situation. The author also shares parts of her own personal story, as well as advice on things like gaining monetary independence and paperwork to gather copies of before attempting to leave an abusive partner. I can see this being an asset for someone in an abusive situation, to feel less alone, to dream of a better life, and to get practical advice on where to begin.
