"Attack on Titan" as filtered through the weirdo who did "One Punch Man."

I joke, but it is funny how the first threat they tackle after the threat of the demons and robots are giants that aren't kaiju size, but still bigger than the Hulk. What's even more interesting is that the person they get to lead the squad of sharkbait is a fellow survivor of their targeted demon boss (the main character being the other barely-survivor of his demon and he lost an arm & his sword got broken after the encounter). The real reason why he survived however is that he took a page from So this situation where he has to be the bait in the fight to pit the Titans VERSUS the "Neo-humans" is a fine chance to show his mettle.

Another great volume. The detail here is really intricate, and you start to actually piece together how all these different calamities interact with each other. At first it was honestly a little confusing trying to picture all the different primal enemies and the different societies and humanities involved. But as the book progresses you get familiar with the titans, the parasites, the demons, and the robots. I appreciated that ONE eases you into it instead of going full Lord of the Rings info dump on you where you’re drowning in lore you can’t process yet.

There’s a lot of slow build here, a lot of dialogue and character work before the combat kicks in, and I liked that pacing a lot. Really excited for volume three, especially with the ending setting up the demons finally reaching the castle. The Neo humans blew me away too. When they said “perfect humans” I assumed that meant something more intellectual, but no, they’re just vicious, fast, strong, smart, basically humanity at its peak in every physical and mental sense.

It’s wild how creative ONE is building out all these different societies and monster types. I know he’s got the Monster Association background from One Punch Man, but this is next level. He’s such an incredible writer, proper world building, proper character work, and just genuinely inventive when it comes to monsters. If you’re into creative monster design and how different factions interact with each other, this is the series for it. Some panels do an amazing job actually making you feel the fear the characters are feeling.

I really felt for Hallow too, watching his personality kind of collapse as he’s stuck somewhere between hero and coward in the eyes of others, and slowly figuring out what being a hero actually means to him. Can’t wait for the next volume.

This manga is going to be so exhilarating and yet so stressful to read, all at once. All that effort and sacrifice to defer one crisis only to immediately encounter the fruits of another. So many excellent moments in this - cannot wait to read the next volume.

Theory put into practice. A hero's redemption. Disaster delayed a little longer.

We're akin to a colony of ants attempting to change the course of a herd of elephants.

Still interesting to me. We get a contrasting hero who isn't as brave as Hallow, along with a visit to the neo-human world. The first monster versus monster fight was triggered but at a high price.

First time it was a 5/5
Second time was a bit annoying knowing how it was going to go but still a 5/5

Also the neo-humans designs are a 6/5

Mainly love that this whole volume is its own arc

Crazy Fights! Amazing Art!

The situation gets super dire, and humanity has to do all it can to survive. The plot is unpredictable in the best way, and no sacrifice can be ruled out.

I'm completely hooked.
