In this passionate, stirring novel from award-winning author Kimberly Cates, two former lovers, reunited by chance, discover that the love they shared nearly a decade ago is as strong as ever LIGHTHOUSE COVE
Keeping a promise to her mentor, international photojournalist Jacqueline "Jack" Murphy takes time out from her jet-setting lifestyle to photograph a lighthouse in Maine. To her shock, her new assignment brings her face-to-face with Tom Brownlow and his daughter, Lucy. He's the man who broke Jack's heart nine years ago and though she has traveled the world ten times over, she never stopped thinking of him.
Tom never expected to see Jack again -- but as they get to know each other for a second time, he realizes that leaving her was the hardest thing he ever had to do. And now, though Tom tells himself he's just staying at the lighthouse to fulfill his daughter's greatest wish, he's falling more in love than ever. Somehow -- for Lucy's sake and their own -- Jack and Tom must embrace lasting love...the most daring adventure of all.
A little girl who is losing her sight. A single father who just wants to keep her safe, by wrapping her in soft cotton. But she’s starting to pull away, wanting to see and do all she can before her world goes dark. And his first love, a famous photojournalist who spends her time all over the world, in all kinds of dangerous situations. Can these 3 break down barriers and become a family?
Jacqueline "Jack" Murphy is spending 2 months at Mermaid Lost, a lighthouse in Maine completing a photographic book on it started by her deceased mentor. It is also helping her come to grips with his death and her guilt in how it happened. When Tom Brownlow and his daughter, Lucy, show up on the day of a major storm hoping to stay at the lighthouse, Jack is forced to give them shelter. Tom was Jack's first love, which ended badly 9 years before, and someone she never expected to see again. However, it seems the town of Lighthouse Cove and the lighthouse itself was a favorite vacation spot of Tom's ex-wife and a place that his daughter insisted on seeing before she goes blind. As Lucy tries to learn about the Mother she doesn't know, Jack and Tom get to know each other again and try to resolve old issues. An emotional story with a few coincidences that didn't gel.
I loved this book. My only beef is that the heroine's name "Jack" threw me a few times when I thought I was reading about a male character. Like the other Cates book I've read, the emotions are deep and well portrayed, making the happy ever after even more satisfying.
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!! This book is really great. The characters in this book are really well written. I couldn't put the book down.
