Raiders #3

To Catch a Flame

Rate this book
Eyes snapping emerald fire, Isabeau DeBurgh—alias the Devil's Flame—sat motionless upon her fine black stallion. The most feared and notorious highwayman of them all was about to strike...

But Lord Griffin Stone, her victim this night, feared nothing. In a flash, the nobleman had the brigand at the point of his rapier, discovering too late the cascading red curls beneath his assailant's costume. His youthful, rakehell ways tamed by ten years exile in America, Griff would not see this lovely, belligerent girl hanged—nor set her free to once more terrorize the highways. His only choice was to take the spitfire home to his ancestral estate, Darkling Moor, and somehow contrive to fashion her into a lady...

A Raider born of necessity

A great read! This 3rd novel of The Raiders series, in my opinion, is the best one so far! It is not connected to the storyline of books 1-2 and can be read as a standalone. A Raider's daughter, Isabeau, lost her father and mother at a young age. Her father's friend, another raider, practically raised her. She turned raider to keep herself, friend and her brother from starving. She also wanted to keep her friend from a life at a brothel. She robbed stage coaches of wealthy individuals but never killed anyone. She became notorious as the "Red Flame"! She was very successful until one night she met her match and was wounded. The man she was robbing brought her to an inn to heal, and thus, her life changes! In order to find out what happens you have to read the story! It is a good one! Enjoy.

To Catch a Flame

This is another good book by Kimberley. I thoroughly enjoy a book that is about tortured souls who fine love and happiness. The banter between the Hero and heroine is very enjoyable. The characters are interesting, engaging and entertaining. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any characters from the first 2 books. But I still did not want to put this book down.

Love story

I loved the story and the ban tar between them. I new that Marque was no good but never expected that twist in the story. It was sad how the grandmother was kept from her daughter & made to believe her granddaughter died. The only thing I was disappointed about after the grandmother was brought into the story and so happy to have her granddaughter back but was left out at the end.

3.75 stars Another really story with twisty turns to the plot, unfortunately I felt the romance part was a bit sappy ? overdone ? well, it drove me a bit crazy. Instalove isn't one of my genres. But the mystery part of this was pretty good, even though I figured out the villain very early on. Recommended.

Definite five star book

This is the third book of The Raiders Series, and the best of the three by far. What a great story..wonderful characters, interesting and fast moving plot! Exciting, funny, heart wrenching, gritty and couldn't put it down!
Cates has created characters that are all too human. No one is perfect! Especially not the heroine and hero. Nor are the secondary characters.....which makes for a most delightful story. And the romance is done so subtley. A definite high recommendation! I plan to read more by this author.
