sigh I knew better than to let my curiosity rule me but despite book one being a huge bust for me I still felt the need to see how this train wreck played out. 😂

Truth be told this book was probably a bigger hot mess than the first one. Oh it had more sex, but who cares about that when every other chapter the MMC is growling and being OTT jealous? Or another betrayal is revealed, and boy they just so conveniently always got outed so easily. And they're were so many too! Or perhaps the endless sausage fest of men forever surrounding the FMC? 🙄

I mean, why exactly did the FMC have nothing but male friends? Like, her newfound brothers I understood hanging around her but she was always surrounded by men. Not just the ones meant to protect her, but even those weren't often and usually the same men she hung out with regularly. It was strange and it couldn't have been just because she had succubus blood. I felt like that was a very strategic choice by the author and it was a bad one because aside from her own brothers it seemed all the men she was constantly hanging out with and confiding in were basically lusting after her. Or falling in love with her, ya know, because she was the epitome of beauty, grace and a sexual fantasy come to life with the innocence of the virgin she no longer was. Like, come the fuck on. She was so not that great y'all so it was ridiculous that she wasn't finding women to bond with aside from Pandora the witch queen.

Especially because the author is like oh let's introduce this hot half demon prince, right? But we'll also make him super protective over her from first meet and lhave him lust after her even though she was ten thousand percent mated to the MMC Rave. So, throughout the book we have our fully in love FMC Astrid skirting around a very powerful chemistry with Bane who was like an adoptive brother to her actual blood brothers. And you're honestly gonna tell me I'm supposed to be just perfectly cool with that? Some low level sexual chemistry that even the FMC nearly acts on a handful of times despite being permanently mated and in love with said mate? Ughhhhh

All it did was disrespect her actual mate bond, and make me even more bored by Bane despite his initial intriguing character. Like, not every goddamn man needed to be lusting after the FMC or attempting to even win her affection for fucks sake. It was exhausting and so boring. Especially because the FMC kept having visions about these men finding their mates and she somehow becomes friends with them too.

And at the end after being kidnapped with Bane they were cuddling and he was lovingly stroking her hair when she admits she had a vision of him with his mate and they were all friends in it. To which he responded by removing his hands from her, putting distance between them and emotionally pulling away from her. Softly thanked her for the information, and all the while she sat there not liking the feeling of him not being so open with her but she didn't want to hurt him because she knew he liked her and she liked him back but obviously couldn't give him what he wanted. And then she offered him blood to give him strength, which was hilarious having being kidnapped all of a day. And she nearly orgasms from the experience, naturally, but managed to think about other things to prevent it.

Apparently the FMC being forever mated wasn't enough to make Bane back off and respect her mate bond but knowing he had a mate out there was? Pfft.

So, yeah sorry not sorry but literally none of that was attractive to me. I don't think having the friends of the MCs being sexually attracted to one of the MCs and it being reciprocated despite not acting on it in any way enriches the story or the MCs relationship.

And to be perfectly honest, the big cliffhanger of book one was pretty ridiculous. It led to a whole dramatic event with the FMC running away and it was all because the MMC didn't tell the FMC about his son. And let me tell you it was absolutely reasonable that he didn't. The FMC could be upset he didn't trust her with the knowledge sooner, fine, but he had actual legit reasons and it all stemmed from protecting his son. It had nothing to do with hurting her or hiding him from her indefinitely. So, the fact he was the only one who grovelled is hilarious to me. Yes, he hurt her by not confessing everything especially after they officially bonded. But the FMC didn't tell him about being a seer until like 70-80% of the book! So it's not as if she was all forthcoming either, and it clearly showed she didn't trust him in return.

But no, this became all about the FMC being hurt which wasn't fair considering the MMCs reasons. Plus, I'd liked to point out they hadn't known each other long at all. It definitely felt like less than a month from the time they met to the time they officially bonded in book one so I don't see where either had enough time to build any level of trust with one another to reveal any big secrets. Especially when the MMC was worried she'd want to harm or send his son away, as his mother did his father's firstborn son from another woman. Perfectly reasonable IMHO to withhold such information in the beginning because he had no idea how she'd react, because he didn't know her at all! And then the other reason being he was afraid she'd use the confession about his son as a reason to run away from him since she was so against their mating to begin with. Which, duh, she did run away so he wasn't wrong. But it also made a lot of sense because she had been against it and their entire time together before bonding was him trying to convince her he wasn't some sort of monster and tryigu to earn her trust.

Plus tbh taking up to fifty percent to even get our first POV chapter with the MMC Rave was disappointing. But more disappointing was that every single one of his chapters amounted to nada. Absolutely nothing. Aside from maybe the first one or two where he and the FMC were attempting to hash out their issues but every other chapter after could have been copy and paste of the same droning inner thoughts. Just an endless stream of who he'll kill if they touch the FMC, how wonderful his mate is, how much he loves and adores her, how sorry he was that he lied and hurt her, etc etc. It truly was a waste of time because we still didn't get to see any part of his personality. It was all the grovel obsessed with his mate show so if he had any original thoughts before that we never saw them.

And yeah, her being a fae and a succubus and oh wait she's an angel too?! 😆🤣 Okay friends, let's just keep piling all these rare powers and rare bloodlines to the FMC to forever solidify her reign as the most specialist and powerful female ever to exist which is why every dick in a hundred mile radius must have her and is willing to cause war for her. 🙄🙄🙄

Funnily enough I know I'll check out atleast the next two books, maybe the entire series, because despite the ick of having Bane half in love with the FMC in this book I'm still curious about his book. Even if I already know Sorens book is gonna suck. I'm willing to give the rest of this series a shot even if I find it lacking because despite that issue it's still somehow mildly engrossing and easy to read with it's simplistic writing style.

But yeah, once done then I'm gonna have to underline this author on my do not read list. We just don't vibe.

Ps: Calling the MMC a Shadow Daddy in the previous book and then Bane a Storm Daddy? Meh, it sounded childish tbh, and while I've never been a fan of calling anyone by daddy sexually or otherwise I found its usage in these books coming from the FMC a bit out of pocket. It didn't fit the vibe of the story, nor the timing whenever it was used. And I couldn't even understand how the FMC would even think to call them such. It felt like the author tried to hard because the name didn't come about organically enough to be believably used.

Can I just curl up in a ball and cry? Why, why did it have to end like that?! A bombshell and then “To be continued…” ahhhh 🤯😮🫣😫

It felt sooo good to be back in this series, I’ve become deeply attached to these characters. 😍🥰

Each turn of the page brings so many twists and turns you won’t see coming, add in the lust, spice, betrayal, sexy fae, a storm daddy (🥵), shadow daddy (🥵), danger, friendships, and magic. You’ve got yourself one hell of an addictive story! My emotions were all over the place, and I loved it!

If you haven’t picked up book 1, Forewarned yet, I highly recommend you do. This is one adventure you don’t want to miss. Trust me. 🤩

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

With book one leaving off on a crazy cliffhanger, I immediately dove into book two where we get all the angst and really see Astrid’s strength shine.

With lies and secrets coming out, Astrid finds comfort in her new found family.

Rave knows he F’d up and is going mad with the loss of his mates trust.

“I’ve been called a monster, but little does she know, this monster now has a leash. And she’s the one holding it. I will destroy the realm if she wills it, and I will do so with a smile. The darkness is coming, and the Fae Queen is the only one with the power to restrain it. Long live the queen.”

Astrid is a commodity and others are after her. With her strengthened magic and abilities, is it enough to go against the enemy? Who is the enemy and why do they want Astrid so bad?

Bane is honestly one of my favorite characters and I’d die to be mated to him. Lol.

Another fast paced book with angst, spice, and all the fated mate stuff I obsess over. Book two concludes Rave and Astrid’s love story but the plot thickens and this world definitely isn’t done.
I’m so ready for book three which is Rave’s best friends story and his mate he finds!

Foretold❤️‍🩹

Oh my gosh, the ending of the last book left me on the proverbial edge of the cliff, needing more desperately. In an attempt to get away from Rave, Astrid goes to the Incubus Kingdom to get to know her family better. However, each time she’s away from Rave, danger and trouble seem to find her😳

I loved this story, there were so many twists and turns and I’m enjoying discovering who everyone is and their powers. I’m really loving these characters…and I’m looking forward to more❣️ A not to be missed story. I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️

This whole world is incredible!

Chantel once again had me on the edge of my seat and enamored through this entire book. I finish this in less than a day and am so sad that I have to wait til November for the last book. I love Astrid and Rave’s love story but the challenges they face are what kept me glued to this book.

2.4 ⭐ I guess in this case it is true when they say the sequel is not better

Ngl I was really looking forward to this. I loved the first book, and while I was okay with it no really having a plot, this was not the case

First things first.. Astrid is a bitch there I said it 🤷well maybe bitch is a strong word but I can't think of anything else. She basically cheated on Rave, maybe not physically but what she did was not okay. It's like she gets off on him being possessive or something. Like he keeps telling her "no man other than me should touch you" and what does she do? Hugs Bane, Touches August, let's Bane feed on her, wears his jacket etc and then wonders why Rave keeps losing his shit. And what's worse is she knows these men are in love with her (fate knows why) but keeps leading them on to make Rave jealous. It's not fair to these men honestly, they not your puppies. And the fucking double standards of the thing, she gets so mad when women even look at Rave but it's okay for her to get lovey dovey with other men? Hypocrite.
I get why she was mad about the whole he has a kid thing but she dragged it on forever 😭and she didn't even make him grovel, she couldn't stand on business for shit.
And my god, someone needs to tell these authors that sex doesn't equal romance, I swear there literally no romance in this book, just Rave telling her "you're mine"x80, growling whenever she's near another man, them going down on each other, and some I love yous thrown in there. I needed actual romance, like there so little cute things in this one. Also I needed Rave to grovel more. Side note.. There was literally no reason for this book to be dual pov, Rave pov told us nothing we didn't already know.

And that whole disowning your child when you find your mate thing is kinda fucked up, like just don't have kids unless it's with your mate 🤌and even if you do, why should the child suffer? Fucked up

Side characters.. Not alot going on there, I istg idgaf about Pandora and Seron's drama I'm sorry, I liked Sinda and Nico thou. Ohh and how can I forget Vale, ngl he stole my heart too. And Astrid you take Rave and I take Baren deal? 🤝And "Storm daddy" ew no don't do that

Anyway imma finish the series coz I gotta find out what's so fucking special about Astrid that makes these men lose their minds.

Edit Just found out the next book is Pandora and Serons story.. Idk man I did not care for them but I might give it a shot 🤷

Sad to say I have never finished a book this fast and sadly, it was not for enjoyment purposes but my own OCD about DNFs.

The writing regarding the sexy scenes was better quality than the rest. The story is rushed, details are just popped in like “oh by the way you’re also this and this person is this” theres no build up, no real character depth or relationship building. Serious scenes which had potential story depth are just washed over its all so rushed!! Also, the F word is just dumped into sentences where it doesn’t fit ruining any fluidity, it was odd.

If you want a book purely for sexy scenes with low quality story and writing this books for you however, if you want a spicy book with good quality storytelling and indepth character development this book is not for you

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...

4.5 stars

I could not wait for this book to be released after that ending in Forewarned. That cliffhanger left me gasping for more because after all that had happened and Astrid finally trusting Rave with her heart, we learn he wasn’t all that truthful… that was a very naughty Shadow Daddy.

This book picks up right where Foretold left off, Astrid has learned of Rave’s big secret and has run with August to her father’s kingdom. I did expect some groveling, the man held out on major information and had others keep his secret as well. When Rave realizes his secret is out, the man, to say the least was shocked, but completely remorseful, unfortunately for him, Astrid was not in the mood to hear it. I loved every interaction between Astrid and Rave in the book because you can see them grow and move forward. I can’t lie I did expect more groveling from Rave before Astrid gave in, but Rave wasn’t giving his Princess a chance to get away.

I adored that Astrid now had more family and her own brothers who loved her dearly. She even made a new friend, Bane aka Storm Daddy, who was interesting character. We learn even more about Astrid’s mysterious lineage and it becomes clear that she is more unique than they all thought. I don’t want to reveal too much because this book was quite a wild ride and I just enjoyed every new reveal especially Pandora and Soren. We even get a glimpse to what I am sure is going to be a dicey situation for August in the future.

Honestly the way this book ended it gave me the vibe that we would get another Rave and Astrid book; it just felt like Astrid’s story was not fully complete yet, in my opinion, after all those revelations about her parents.

Vale was my favorite character of the entire series.

I loved this book so much I didn’t want it to end! Rave and his Princess were just so endearing together.

I can’t wait to read Soren and Pandora’s book which is next! The angst, the tension, and tragic past between these two with the combination of that ending, I must know what happens next.

Spoilers:

I did expect some groveling, the man never told her about his son and had others keep his secret as well. When Rave realizes his secret is out, the man, to say the least was shocked, but completely remorseful, unfortunately for him, Astrid was not in the mood to hear it. I loved every interaction between Astrid and Rave in the book because you can see them grow and move forward. I can’t lie I did expect more groveling from Rave before Astrid gave in, but she did not forgive for a good while and Rave did appear to suffer especially when it appeared that Astrid’s list of “suitors” seemed to have grown from just August. Bane, aka Storm Daddy, was an interesting add to the team and I can’t wait to learn more about him.

Foretold

Picking up right where Forewarned ended, this book gives a closer look into the incubus kingdom. Astrid uses her diamond to be zipped into their kingdom with who she is told is her father as she avoids being around the shadow prince after the bombshell that was dropped in book 1.

Lots of side character banter which was fun. The brothers of the fae are replaced with Astrid’s brothers Axe, Kai and their friend Bane. The instant love I left for Bane as he was introduced I’m sure was unhealthy 🥵

I loved learning more about the incubus curse that left them with no women and mixed blood to weaken their magic. Astrid is a hot commodity as the only succubus in the kingdom and anytime spent with the Incubus, she’s basically in immediate danger.

Rave just pissed me off here the first half of the book - he was soooo controlling and psycho, very toxic. Annoying ! 50% through and we’re still having the same arguments between Rave and Astrid on trust and lies. He did grow on me again towards the middle and I’m still team Rave at the end but hoping for some spicy Bane scenes eventually!

The war with the vampires is at a tipping point of beginning, and Astrid’s identity as a succubus is not known and putting her in danger. We finally get some chapters in Rave’s perspective. And two worlds collide as Rave finally lets her friends and family visit the fae kingdom.

We also learn more about Pandora, and that epilogue has me excited for what’s to come here!

Betrayal, so much lust, and action. Love, love, love and can’t wait for the next one !

Lots of twists and turns

Another great instalment of this story, I'm really enjoying seeing the relationships grow between these characters. So many twists and turns and secrets within this one that I actually have no idea how it's gonna pan out. Poor Vale, he is so strong for being so young. Found family is better than blood family most of the time it seems. Can't wait to read the next one.

OH MY WOW! I am trying to decide whether this 2nd book is even better than the first. I love this series so much. You know how there's this shock factor at the end of some books? This book has it in the beginning, the middle and the ending. I desperately hope MANY more books will be written in this series. The FMC is amazing, not to mention "Shadow daddy Rave". I like that she embraces and finds balance with the darkness inside her instead of denying it. Even tho its fantasy this books sheds a realistic light on situations instead of glazing over them with pretty rainbows. The characters altho fantasy are realistic and relatable. I took my time reading this one because I never wanted it to end. This book is EVERYTHING you want from a fantasy book. Super spicy too!

Under developed

This felt very rushed and under developed, more like a draft or fanfic than a final, professional novel. The plot points were interesting enough to finish it (and it was super short) but I feel like this could’ve been so much better with editing and more detail. This very easily could’ve been 100 pages longer if it wasn’t jumping straight from action to action at warp speed and had the barest amount of detail in between.

****4 ½ Stars****

Foretold is the second book in Chantal Fernando’s Fated Love Series. It is highly recommended that you read the first book, Forewarned, in the series before diving into this one. Foretold picks up where Forewarned’s brutal cliffhanger left off.

Astrid and Rave have come a long way in their relationship, until a huge secret that Rave has been keeping from Astrid is, unbeknownst to him, exposed. Now, Astrid is on a mission to gain a little bit of separation from her mate. The only issue is, he’s not about to let her get away. He’ll follow her to any realm she steps foot in and wage war on anyone who dare keep him from his mate. Even if it’s her newly found father and brothers.

My Thoughts:

Yes! Yes! Yes! Chantal Fernando DELIVERED! When I tell you I could not put this book down, you best believe that fact is true! I’m fairly new to this wonderful genre that is Romantasy (Romance/Fantasy). And it has to be said, my eyes are open to all the wonders and all the possibilities that romantasy has to offer. Now let’s dive into this novel!

Starting with Astrid. My heart broke for Astrid and the secrets she uncovered due to Rave’s hidden life. I knew this novel was going to be just as emotional as the ending that came with Forewarned. Chantal Fernando did not disappoint in the feelings department! My heart broke over and over for this woman. It was inevitable. But, Astrid didn’t waver when Rave came crawling back, and I think this fact is the one I loved most of all. This woman showed her backbone and she gave Rave the hell he deserved! I was literally throwing up my hands and cheering Astrid on! Another feature I loved with this novel was seeing Astrid grow more into her power. In all honesty, the only reason why i dropped a ½ star on my rating is due to the fact that I wanted more of that magic/power through her perspective. She had strength in her power and I wanted that element to shine more.

And then we have Rave. Shadow Daddy messed up… big time. And he’s about to see just how much Astrid can hold a grudge. I loved watching this strong man show more of a vulnerable side. But don’t take that vulnerability for weakness. The more connected Rave became to Astrid, the stronger his alpha/possessive streak came out. AND I WAS HERE FOR IT! I loved his protective/over-possessive tendencies.

Overall, Chantal Fernando exceeded all my expectations with this novel. I can’t wait for more from this world and this series! EEK! I can see the Fated Love Series is quickly becoming my newest reading obsession.

Ok First I already wrote a review and have zero idea where it went. WTF.

We FINALLY reached the epic conclusion of Rave and Astrids story. What in the clusterfuckery was that cliffy from book 1?!!! Chantal you are NOT forgiven.

Astrid is left heartbroken and in disbelief as the revelations at the end of book one and I've got to be honest.. I would of fried his nuts. Unacceptable. He is also not forgiven for that.
Astrid has a soft heart with a hard shell so when she's hurt she feels it hard but wears a mask to pretend that she doesn't. My heart broke for her. She's strong, funny and beautiful and quite frankly could have any man but she's a loyal gal and her journey to that HEA wasn't always pretty but it proved to grow her as a person too.

Rave it's a good thing you're good with your tongue my man because lord knows I would of fried you for your antics. I do love a morally grey hero though. Rave felt big and hard all of the time and that in turn made him do some questionable things in this story that most won't be so fond of. I like the reality though.. not a glossed over version. Rave loves Astrid with everything in him. Unhealthy so. But he is all for her. I do love me a possessive alpha asshole.

Their journey jumps around a bit because there is a lot of water under the bridge and so much to talk about with so many feelings in the way. It made navigating to very strong personalities difficult to say the least. But it was true to them. The chemistry is crazy and their connection is undeniable. By the end you know that it's them.. a team. An unbeatable unit. I was here for it even if I was holding a grudge.

Now Bane.... A lot of people with disagree with me here but I just wanted them to fuck. The chemistry was insane. Normally I don't recommend sewing your wild oats but honestly I needed them to do something about that because holy fuck. I'd settle for a dirty dream.
Bane was a DELIGHT. All kinds of dark and delicious. I was here for it.

Soren is another one I want to take a bite out of. Positively delicious. Even if I just know he is going to piss me off more that I want in his story.

This world is a interesting place to be and as far as laying the foundation .. I feel like Chantal has done a great job of building this world and giving us multidimensional characters that we want more of. There is so much unknown that the possibilities are endless with so many characters to play with too.

I loved the flow of this story and the peaks into the different worlds. We are left with more question here and I'm curious to how Chantal continues the storyline throughout the next few books.
She killed it with this one having me all up in my feels. I cant wait for what's next!.

I must say I was angry at the end of book one in this series, primarily because I am one of those readers that cannot stand cliffhangers, to the point that I generally refuse to read them, but I am glad to finally have my questions answered and to see Rave and Astrid get their HEA. This series has shaped up to be an interesting world filled with dangers, intriguing plot twists, and characters that are both filled with both the light and dark of humanity that makes us all so interesting. The belief that as a species any being is all light or all dark is boring in my opinion so the dual natures represented by so many of the characters in this book is both interesting and fascinating to watch unfold as they come together and learn more about one another. Astrid is definitely one of the most interesting as she learns to embrace her dark side, while coming to understand this dualistic nature in her mate. The protective and possessive nature of her lover comes out in herself more than once as she sees the truth of her feelings for Rave, and she comes to peace with her needs for him. While she might be attracted to another man, she knows that only her fated mate will ever match her perfectly. Rave also comes to understand that Astrid is the perfect woman her for him, and when she hurts, especially if he is the cause of the hurt, it tears him apart. I loved seeing the passion between these two as they worked through the trauma and turmoil of the enemies coming at them from every angle even as they tried to come to terms with the changes in their relationship and their new lives. While I can promise you that this story gives us a beautiful wrap up to the love story between Rave and Astrid, it does give us a beautiful hint at the next story, letting us know that book 3 will be interesting to say the least, but I’m hoping that one won’t end of a cliffhanger. Chantal has outdone herself with this duology of a love story, but take it from me, read Forewarned and Foretold together if you want the full impact of the love and danger of Rave and Astrid as they change the world and find a love to shape a nation.

5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶🌶🌶

OMG i just can't hang with these cliff hangers! I'm literally on the floor whining because I need to wait longer for their HEA!!

But really this book had me on a chokehold. The secrets were revealed. and they were not pretty. They fought, the made up and they got crazy again.

I got to say that Bane 😏😏😏😏😏 I'm here if you need a fate mate. LOLOLOL

Ok back to them, why I wanted to slap this man. Or I don't know shadow his ass to the next kingdom. I swear he just made me angry and swoon at the same time. his possessiveness had no boundaries. He seek violence with anyone who touch, look or anything with Astrid.

I give Astrid a high five for leaving Rave. Even thought she was hurting. She stood her ground and deserved to know the truth to his secrets.

But of course it did not last. He found her and he gravel to the end of times to have her forgive him.

so much happens in this book too. So many enemies to unfold and when you least expect it, its going to be someone who you thought it was family.

Guys you need to read this series, it has so much!! Spice, romance, drama, swooning moments, violence. Like I'm in love. And I definitely need to find out what happens next, like ASAP!!

Thank you @authorchantalfernando For the early copy<33

Firstly with the ending of the first book Forewarned, I was left desperately wanting more!!
My excitement for this book was off the charts!!
With Rave's secrets unravelling, Astrid does what any strong woman would do, she wants him to suffer, she wants to make sure he knows he's done wrong, she departs to her fathers kingdom and is welcomed by all especially her brothers, bond, relationships and trust forms with this family she didn't know she had.

This is a world full of danger and betrayals and Astrid continues to grow stronger, embracing all the darkness and powers finding herself, her real self!! When danger and betrayal finds her, Rave, his brothers and Astrid's brothers are always there for her, their protection and loyalty knows no bounds.
Astrid also knows she cannot stay away from Rave for long, their souls are one, their passion, and intensity and their bond just keeps growing, not only in sexyness, but also in power. But when betrayal comes from the most unexpected place, will it tear them and her brothers and even Rave apart!!

For someone like me who doesn't often dive into fantasy I have to say that Chantal Fernando has absolutely converted me!!!
Amazing characters, men to die for, badass females, gritty, no holds barred situations, realistic relationships and emotionally charged just WOW!
WE NEED MORE !!! I don't want it to end!!!
