Chasing Valor is a collection of fictional poetry and prose that bravely navigates the landscape of growth and healing. With some creative storytelling of a Squire and Princess, Chasing Valor successfully embodies love, loss, courage, and conflict. This book serves as a strong testimony of not just overcoming spiritual warfare but also doing so gracefully.
The thing about poetry (and prose) is that we read it with our own interpretations (both for better and for worse). Our interpretation of works like this is largely informed by our experiences. So it's worth noting that my read of Chasing Valor was read with years of navigating love for years as what some call a hopeless (I prefer 'helpless') romantic. I've always appreciated voices that can speak to that experience. The idealism those of us with sensitive hearts can lead us to moving through life heart-first into everything. This too is a for better or for worse kinda thing. Poems like What Matters and Between Friends speak to that experience. In reading Chasing Valor I'm reminded that living heart-first means you'll find love more often than planned and sometimes find it going more times than we might like. I enjoyed this read.
Soul Stirring - Romantic - Truly worth the read if you love great poetry~ I love the bold Christian theme as well - not something I've personally seen a lot of in the spoken word/poetry community. Highly recommend - Bravo!
