In the face of global chaos, the power of a close family unit and a self-sufficient homestead becomes their greatest weapon.
In a world on the brink of collapse, Chelsea Logan's once simple life on the outskirts of Chicago becomes a fortress of survival. As an EMP disaster looms and society edges towards chaos, Chelsea must transform her humble homestead into a prepper fortress for her husband, Henry, and their young son, James. With limited resources and the threat of societal breakdown, Chelsea's winter homestead and close-knit family become the heart of their existence.
Being a free book, it was something to read on my genre. The story moved along ok but was really simple. There were a few mentions of prayer and the language wasn't tawdry til the final chapter. That was when the author couldn't hold it any longer. I did finish the book and gave it an average rating. I was being really generous.
Just long enough to experience the apocalypse and the challenges the homesteaders faced, but not drawn out over multiple books. One might said it was a Pollyanna view but I enjoyed it.
For the 1st time in a long time, I skimmed the last 30%. Book was really choppy in story line and just don’t like. Was hoping would get better, but just didn’t happen.
I found this book for free on a website for free kindle books. And I really enjoyed it. The way the author captured the story was done really well. I'd like to see a sequel made as to how life changed once the power was restored, and how many decided to continue living off the grid. Would also like to know if the doctor made it to his daughters house.
