Full Throttle is a great way to describe the action in this new book by Paul Heatley. Tom Rollins finds himself in Detroit and in the middle of a war between gangs and a pair of siblings in need of help. Mayhem is a good word to describe what happens and Rollins has his hands full with all the different characters involved in this story. It's another great and entertaining book from this author and I thank Inkubator Books and Netgalley for supplying me with it. Highly recommended.

Paul Heatley was an author that I was made aware of thanks to a Facebook group I joined (Military Thriller Book Group) a little over eighteen months ago. This is the book twelve in his exciting Tom Rollins series. This is my review of Full Throttle by Paul Heatley.

I received a copy of this book for Advance Review Copy, and I would like to thank the author, Paul Heatley, his publisher (Inkubator Books), and Booksprout for the opportunity. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the twelfth book in the Tom Rollins series, which within the first few pages made me draw comparisons with Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" character, in that both characters are former military members who are pulled into exciting adventures full of action.

I think that this might be only the second book in this author's series that I have had the opportunity to read (I am honestly looking forward to going back to read the rest of this series). I am impressed with the ability of this writer's ability to pull you in right away. Good characters and great storylines while drawing out emotions as you read the book.

Tom Rollins finds himself pulled into another exciting tale as he befriends a trucker who gives him a lift, and helps him when an attempt is made at stealing the truck's valuable cargo. After helping his new friend save his cargo, Rollins is exposed to the dark underbelly of gang crime and police corruption in the city of Detroit, and along the way he meets a pair of siblings who are trying to find out who had killed their parents.

On a five star scale, I would easily give this book a solid four stars and believe that this book (and I think the whole series) would be a definite favourite for action aficionados and I would recommend it to this demanding audience.

As with all my literary ramblings, this is just my five cents worth.

Paul Heatley is a superb author, this is the first book I've read by him and wow what a ride. It's fast paced, it's full of action and to the nitty gritty, if I was watching this as a movie, i'd be hiding behind my hands for a lot of the time with some of the gory killing scenes. But I absolutely loved it from the pace to the characters to the plot and the fact that I can read about twelve other books based on the main character, Tom Rollins.
This author writes very similar characters and plot lines to Lee Child. So, if you love Jack Reacher series which I do. I am addicted to it, then you are absolutely going to love the Tom Rollins series by Paul Heatley.
What can I say. His writing is spot on, the dialogue is concise and tight there's no fluffing for additional words, it's straight forward, easy to follow and I loved his characters, they're strong and smart.
I have already lined up book1 in the series to read over the weekend. I cannot wait, I don't think I'll be able to get enough of this author and his main character.
Highly recommend this book if you love a good thriller, black ops/CIA/Military genre. Perfect for a reader like me.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story begins with Tom's car breaking down on a background and him walking on the interstate where he is picked up by a truck driver. He is driven to a truck stop where Tom gets involved in a fight protecting a woman. As a result of the fight, Tom winds up being hired by the truck driver who is worried about being hijacked in Detroit. Once they arrived in Detroit the truck is almost hijacked. but Tom's actions save the day. After Tom has been dropped off, he becomes aware of an individual riding a bike. He later winds up helping yhe boy, Calvin, who gets in trouble and Tom comes to his rescue.

The story then follows Tom as he becomes involved with Calvin and his sister Ruth, whose parents were killed in a drive-by shooting. Things become dangerous for the trio as they are marked to be victims by a group of gangs as well as a group of corrupt cops.

Follow along as Tom and the two people he is protecting avoid the many efforts made against them. Find out what unknown individuals assist the trio, who the groups are that Tom has to deal with and how it all ends up in the end.

Theis is a definite good read and if you enjoy action, then is definitely for you.

Real Gangs with a Real Life Super-Hero!
Tom is just going through town, trying to buy another beater vehicle to get him a little farther down (or up) the road, with no real destination in mind, just a general direction. His last car clunked out on him, and he was picked up by a nice truck driver who, by way of different means, needed some help too. So he finds these siblings who get in the way of their trouble after their parents were targeted and killed, but no one seems to know why, they are good people.
So Tom jumps in to help Ruth and Calvin. This is a wonderful ride of adrenaline through the whole book! I have to say, Tom is a real life superman, who stops at nothing to protect the siblings, and to ensure their safety after he leaves.
I absolutely loved this story!
This has triggers for some, I wouldn't recommend for young readers, but I would recommend for fans of Reacher (Lee Child) books.
Thank you, Paul Heatley for a Great book!
I received a complimentary copy of this story, and this is my honest review.

It's been a number of books since I gave a 4 rating but the action in this one is pretty much from cover to cover.

Tom is picked up by a friendly trucker who after having seen Tom in action hires him to protect his load from being robbed at his destination of Detroit. Seems gangs are targeting loads from his company. While successfully defending the load, Tom comes across Ruth and Calvin Styles whose parents were murdered by gangs a few years ago. The siblings believe it was accidental but it was anything but.

There are two gangs vying for power and a special gang task force supposedly trying to take them down but all the while in league with one of them. Calvin meanwhile is trying to find his parents killer unbeknownst to sister Ruth. He runs afoul of the three groups when flashing a picture of the killer and Tom comes to the rescue. Then the chase is on.

So much action, lots of bad guys and Tom still wins.

If there's trouble to be found, and someone in need, you want a guy like Tom Rollins on your side. He'll make it right, and in the process, bad guys' heads will roll.

This time around, he ends up in Detroit after helping a trucker from getting his load jacked. Next thing you know, he's in the middle of a gang war trying to protect a teen and his sister from harm. Add in a corrupt gang task force, and Rollins has his work cut out for him finding all the bad guys (and gals) that need to be put in their place.

Fast paced, with lots of action to keep the story moving along. Rest assured, havoc will ensue as Rollins does his best to protect the innocent while punishing the guilty along the way. A satisfying ending is the result.

Where will Tom Rollins go next? I can't wait to find out!.

This was a brilliant read. Fast-paced as usual, Tom befriends a trucker who gives him a lift, and helps him when an attempt is made at stealing the truck's precious cargo. Soon he finds himself embrolied in a gang war between two rival gangs in Detroit, along with a corrupt gang task force. All this is going on while he tries to keep a young teenager and his sister safe.

It's hard to pause to take breath when reading these books and this was the same with this story. It's violent and the title is pretty apt here. I was totally immersed from start to finish and read it in a couple of sittings all in the same day. This series goes from strength to strenght and I can't wait for more.

This is book 12 of Tom Rollins series. This is the first book that i have read from this series and it appears that you are not missing from the story line by reading this as a stand-alone book.

Tom Rollins is a wandering man with a CIA and military background who finds himself in Detroit. He is a man who helps those in need and finds his self-helping a brother and sister who have lost their parents in the last couple of years and is a major part of the story. Tom finds that he will be caught between a war between two street gangs that want to control the city with one of these gangs that has an advantage of an alliance of a special police force who has minimal restraints in cleaning up the city. This is a fast-paced story. I will exploring the authors other stories.

Good Story, needs better editing

Overall, this was a good story and one I enjoyed. Tom Rollins doing his reluctant hero thing always provides for quality entertainment.
However, there are more than one on American spellings of common words that detract from a story set in Detroit Michigan. At the beginning of the story, Tom was in Kentucky and then headed to Detroit per the trucker that picked him up… but they had to make a stop real quick in Idaho?! Nope, America doesn’t work like that. It was very small as far as details go, but also a massive distraction. Same with the use of the word “torch” instead of flashlight because Americans don’t say torch. It just distracts from the flow of a good story and could have been resolved very easily with some editing.

This is the 12th book in the Tom Rollins series and they are all so amazing and I highly recommend this series to everyone. In this book, Tom is padding thru Detroit when he decides to meet with a brother and sister who are looking for justice. Ruth and Calvin's parents were murdered over two years ago and they are still trying to find out who is responsible for their murders. Tom agrees to help them but soon finds himself in the middle of a corrupt police force, gang war and other things he wasn't counting on when he agreed to look into the murders. Can Tom stay safe and find out who murdered Ruth and Calvin's parents?

Tom Rollins, an ex army, ex CIA operative, finds himself in Detroit. He sets out to help Ruth and Calvin, kids who begin ruffling feathers years after their parents were killed.

Crooked law enforcement, gang wars, and roling action are what you'll find in this book.

It was the 12th book in the series, and you'll almost find the story playing out as an episode of Jack Reacher or FBI, in that it's the same amount of suspense and action. There is a certain level of predictability that I noticed. However, it was still an enjoyable read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ruth and Calvin are struggling to make ends meet, as two years have passed since they buried their parents. Ruth is working hard while also studying to become a nurse. Meanwhile, Calvin is taking boxing lessons, but that's not all he's doing. He's determined to find the person who pulled the trigger in the drive-by that killed his parents. Fortunately, a bystander caught the shooter on camera, giving Calvin a lead. When Calvin has a gun pointed at his head, Tom Rollins shows up to save him. This story is full of sorrow and action, ending in a HEA for the siblings. Very highly recommended.

Good fast moving thriller.

A fast moving thriller that has Rollins beginning his next adventure by stopping a hijacking which results in the lorry driver offering him a paid job to protect him while he delivers his cargo. On reaching Detroit Rollins foils the attempted hijacking and in the process of doing observes that a boy on bicycle was watching everything that happened. Eventual contact with this boy and his sister finds them at risk from gangs and corrupt police needing all of Rollins skills to keep them alive.

WOW Tom is at it again taking on two gangs and batch of crooked cops .

Eight stars Tom never disappoints you. He isn’t perfect but has a sense of right and wrong that takes him to the edge of disaster. He is going to save these two kids even lf he has to die. They lost their parents to this mess and he wants to make sure they aren’t wiped out next. He takes on two large gangs and a powerful batch of bad gang cops who are crooked as hell.

Another solid read

I've enjoyed all the books in this series. They no e along and don't bog down too often. I like how Tom Rollins helps people ( a common theme in this genre) but isn't too conflicted by his past, like many heros. This book is fun, and fast with plenty of action.

If you enjoyed the previous books then this is more of the same

Full of action and no waffle. Bcasically a better version of this genre than the later Jack Reacher books. If you bought and enjoyed the previous books in the series then this is just more of the same. I just wish they were a bit longer.

Another rip roaring escapade

The Tom Rollins series are a great, straightforward read. Similar to Jack Reacher the protagonist ha
s a moral code of his own and can't leave behind those in need. This time we find Tom injured and in need of some help. Easy to read, paced well and a good afternoon read.

Another great book in the series

I always try to pace myself and enjoy the story slowly. But it became clear as the story lines unfolded, slow would be impossible.
Fast paced, and a fun read all around.
If you haven’t ready any of these, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning.
You won’t stop until devouring this latest one!

Tom Rollins goes through Detroit and finds two children searching for the killers of their parents. Really though it begins with him saving the boy one night hearing the story and then figuring out that the older sister has just given up. He decides to look into it and by doing that he has stirred up a whole lot of trouble. Another good book in the long line of books.

Bit too farfetched

I enjoyed all Tom's adventures so far.... But... I'm a RN, and without almost no sleep, a broken left arm, AND infection.... Come on. He doesn't have super power.... Every human beings , even HE.... wouldn't b able to function properly.... Or would b in a hospital bed with proper cares, AND IVF & Antibiotics.

4.75//5 stars! This is the 12th installment of the popular Tom Rollins Thriller series by author Paul Heatley. I love books that feature corruption within the government or police, because that happens way more frequently than we tend to remember. I loved the pacing of this story and getting to know Tom Rollins as a character. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

These books are along the lines of other military loners against the evil people of the world. It follows a standard format and we know how it ends. Usually I'll like these books as the authors will inform the reader on some tech or history (like Cusler or Lee) not so much this author. I still enjoyed it, but not as exciting

Another good read in the Tom Rollin's series which can easily be read as a standalone. Fast paced, action packed. Lorry jacking, drive by shootings, gangs and police corruption - there is a lot going on in this one, but it's a great read. A real page turner.

Tom seems to always find himself deep into some kind of trouble trying to help other people out of bad situations. There's no shortage of action when Tom gets involved and you end up cheering him on this time he's in Detroit helping a trucker deliver his goods before anyone can rob him.

A good little read. Tom back to not minding his own business and getting into all kinds of trouble. I think I liked this one because it was in a city rather than some small town in the middle of nowhere.
