This was an interesting concept. The serialized story within the story was definitely the spicier bit of the book, and entertaining. The parallels between it and Patricia circumstances made it connect well with the main plot. I also enjoyed the hint of mystery to the storyline, although the resolution felt slightly anticlimactic. Patricia and Thomas’ dynamic felt a little too spontaneous for me at the start but grew in me as the story developed. Patricia is a fairly standard Historical Romance FMC: I little naive and very stubborn. I did like the backstory of how she ended up in the peerage and would consider reading the book about her brother to see more of it.
Allie Rose does a great job with the narration. She definitely captured the young, energetic vibes of Patricia, but also managed to bring Thomas’ more solemn and tormented energy to life as well.
Overall, this is a fun and diverting story that is good for something looking for entertainment without too much heavy plot to track.

4 stars for Tricia and Thomas
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed The Perils of Patricia. Helen Hardt is an amazing author and wow is all I can say. Patricia and Thomas' story was sexy, sensual and steamy. I love reading historical romances and this was certainly a good one with amazing spice. I love a jealous hero and Thomas is certainly jealous. I enjoyed the romance and parties but I also enjoyed that this book had an underlying mystery. It added to the book and made it a fun, interesting read. There is also a pamphlet between the chapters which is equally steamy and enjoyable. Patricia and Thomas were great characters and the narrator Allie Rose did an amazing job bringing this novel to life.

“The Perils of Patricia” is a fictional historical romance that offers a blend of historical intrigue, sizzling chemistry, and a touch of mystery. Helen Hardt crafts a captivating tale with well-developed characters and a steamy romance that will leave readers breathless.

Patricia, a spirited and independent heroine, and Thomas, the brooding and enigmatic Earl, share a palpable connection that ignites the pages. Their passionate encounters are both intense and tender, adding a sensual dimension to the story.

Beyond the romance, the novel delves into a mystery surrounding the Earl's father's death, adding suspense and intrigue to the plot. The historical setting is vividly brought to life, transporting readers to Regency England.

Allie Rose's narration is exceptional, perfectly capturing the characters' voices and emotions. Her performance enhances the listening experience, making the audiobook a truly enjoyable way to consume this story.

Overall, The Perils of Patricia is a must-read for fans of historical romance. It's a captivating blend of passion, mystery, and historical intrigue that will keep readers engaged from beginning to end.

This is been a long-awaited release and in true Helen form, it was more than worth the wait.

The Perils of Patricia is a string of emotions flowing through a marvelous love story
Patricia is a fiery lady and is so headstrong. She's not one to just step in line. She isn't interested in marrying for money or status. She will only be marrying for Love and won't take anything less than.

Thomas is and has always been attracted to Patricia, he's just more concerned with the Age difference. It's his time to step up as the man of the family. He needs a Bride and in this Season he needs to take one. Only problem is his heart wants what his mind won't allow. The jealousy of seeing Patricia dance with others takes it toll & he no longer can hold back his true feelings. There's only one problem. Freak accidents keep happening in he manor and doors that should be lucked keep miraculously become unlocked. There's a traitor among the guests and Thomas is determined to protect his family and the woman he loves.

Oh the anticipation of this story was absolutely worth the wait. I am not the biggest Historical Romance fan but Helen writes Historical Romance Gold! She grabs my attention and keeps my interest fully focused on her world she built for us.

5 sensational stars!

The Perils of Patricia

As a fan of The Sex and the Season Series, which includes 4 books, I was personally eagerly awaiting this book! And it did not disappoint! We were introduced briefly to Patricia and Thomas in previous books as they are family of other characters in earlier books. I loved this storyline where not only are they having balls and parties of the season, but there is an underlying mystery to be solved which cumulatively comes to a conclusion by the end of the book. Do Thomas and Patricia get there happily ever after? And what of Portia and her suitors? Throughout the entire book there is a separate storyline running in the form of a sexy printed version of a newspaper type of thing that gets put out weekly and is so risqué that it has to be read in secret. I loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thomas and Tricia are quite the sizzling couple. Thomas has inherited his earldom, but is suspicious of his father's death. His initial meeting with Tricia, several years his junior throws him into a tizzy. With a mystery to solve, a new Earldom to run, keeping off the pressure of matchmaking mama's, and fighting his snowballing attraction to Tricia, Thomas has a lot on his plate. With Tricia's stalwart insistence that they are a good match, and her support, things come to a harrowing but satisfying end.

This book was steamy, there is a parallel storyline from a series of sexy pamphlets too, so you get twice the steam. The narration was great, Allie Rose did a fab job.

Patricia has been in love with Thomas since she first saw him 4 years ago, when she was only 15. Back then she was the daughter of a tennant farmer. Now she is a lady of the peerage about to start her first season. However she finds herself in peril more often than any young lady should.
Thomas is the new Earl of Ashford after his fathers untimely death, a mystery Thomas is determined to solve and could prove deadly. He sees Lady Patricia and instantly feels an attraction to her, but after he saves her from falling to her death things heat up between them. He would marry her as duty demands but Patricia is determined on a love match. Will Thomas realise he loves Patricia before it's too late?

Calling all Bridgerton Fans...

I was transported to a time in history that brings to life the Regency Era. I felt like I was right there with how explicit and meticulous the descriptions were conveyed in this story. Thomas Jameson inherited the title Earl of Ashford and was therefore dutybound to take a wife.

Lady Patricia Price-Adams has yearned after Thomas for years. Thomas is fascinated with Tricia, but he will not be forced into marriage. Several mishaps have occurred at the Estate that brings a mystery and intrigue element to this story. This was well worth the wait and definitely deserved 5 full stars.

Loved the narration of Allie Rose, who brings emotions, heat and wonderful characters to your ears

We met Patricia and Thomas in previous book. Thomas has inherited the title Earl of Ashford and now is dutybound to take a wife.
Lady Patricia has craved after Thomas for years who is thirteen years her old and also sister-in-law’s brother. Thomas has also had a fascination with Patricia, but he will not be forced into a marriage.
We have also mystery and intrigue, balls and parties of the season, and with a spicy age gap.

Better then Bridgerton
I can tell you how excited I was to hear Helen was writing this book.

Thomas had to step up as the head of the household. Secrets will unfold for him that he didn’t expect.
He had his eye on Patricia even though he was battling with what to do, he didn’t want her with anyone else.

Patricia was wanted Thomas from a young age and will do anything to ensure she gets him
She was not going yo settle for anything less then a love match.

I listened to the audiobook version, and I really enjoyed it. The spice was good and the characters are intriguing. I really enjoyed Tricia’s personality and the internal struggles the main characters face. I liked that there was a mystery to solve in there too. This was a fun read. If you want a spicy age gap historical piece, this could be for you. Thank you to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The long-awaited story of Patricia!!!

In this long-awaited last book of the Sex and the Season series, Patricia gets her HEA with Thomas. It is a beautiful story. There's a sexy story inside the story as well. It reminds me of Lady Alexandra's Lover, my favorite in the series. You will not be disappointed in this love story.

This was really well done for a Regency romance. Typically these are just light, fluffy, quick reads but this one was well-written too. This was my first Helen Hardt read and it won't be my last. If you love Regency era romance definitely recommend this series.

The audio read really fast so I am happy I got a copy of this from NetGalley!

Somewhat dissapointing!!!

Love Thomas's and Tricia's characters. I wish you would has spend more time on their relationship. However, you concentrated mostly on the mystery surrounding them. I wish you had written like in the previous.four stories of this series. Dissaponting!?!?

Greed in families as well as jealousy in staff are a bad mix. Patricia’s crush on Thomas forever was nearly reciprocal , but 13 years in age difference was a no no. But love is strong. A good, fun book. I loved Patricia as well as Lily
