From the author of the best-selling lesbian rom-com 'Blurred Lines,' comes this new enemies-to-lovers standalone, packed with laughs, sizzle, and neighborly tension.
Returning to my hometown has never been part of the plan.
I’m just selling the family home and then hightailing it back to the city.
Everything should be okay as long as I don’t cross paths with childhood frenemy Cameron Maxwell. We haven’t seen each other for eighteen years, and I plan on keeping it that way, especially after she crushed my tiny ten-year-old heart.
I certainly won’t be spying on her through the window, indulging in boat rides with her, or planting a toe inside her ostentatious mansion. And I don’t care if Cameron’s trying to be my knight in shining armor or if she's the hottest thing since the Sun - she’s definitely not seeing me naked.
Unless, of course, it's by accident...
Someone pass the popcorn because things are about to get messy.
Olivia lives by the ocean with her partner and a crew of spirited pets who keep life interesting. She’s happiest near the beach or on a trail, loves wine nights with friends, and has a soft spot for truly terrible reality TV. She finds humor in almost everything, believes in the power of a good love story, and occasionally does nothing at all—with great enthusiasm.
3 stars. Soo the writing style of this book wasn’t my favorite, kind of reminded me of wattpad in a way… however it did make me laugh throughout, and I definitely enjoyed the spice ✨ Overall it was a light funny read (and I may have a crush on cameron).
Olivia Lucas’ books are always hilarious. You also feel for the two MCs who were best friends as little girls, who were torn apart by supposedly well-meaning adults, and now reunite. It’s a very satisfying romance, with a few ups and downs, lots of laughs and a rewarding HEA.
Really fun read. I really liked.both characters and was drawn by the tragedy each has endured throughout their lives. Enjoyed the story and the spice and how they brought lit one anothers.adorable nature. Give it a go!
3.5 rounded to 4. Enemies to lovers is always going to hit. Could feel the connection and chemistry between Cameron and Chloe. The desperation and tension was so well done. The plot was good but I didn’t feel like the book was particularly deep or impactful. A nice fluffy HEA type read
I really liked this book it was an easy read with lots of humor the only thing I didn’t like is that it had no epilogue. We always want to know the future outcome of the characters we come to love. Normally I scan the chapters in the introductions to see if there is an epilogue before I read a book. Sad it didn’t but was still a good book
If you are looking for a wonderful story you have found it. Excellent character development great dialogue & not chalked full of unnecessary inner monologue that some writers plague their stories with.
I love the way Ms. Lucas writes her romantic comedy novels. I find myself laughing out loud, and then all of a sudden devastated by a turn of events in the book.
I’m definitely going to follow her and find out when she’s publishing the next one.
Olivia Lucas has a sweet way to her storytelling. I read a few of her books and love her style. This book has memories, heartbreaks, sadness, flirty banter and love. Your two main characters, Chloe and Cameron grew up with complete different lives. Chloe is working two jobs with shrinking savings since she keeps trying to help her addicted mom. Cameron is living alone in the family home after discovering after her father’s death, the debt her left behind along with his illegal activities. What happens when both women are now faced with each other. Can they finally get along or are they in for one bumpy ride? A great story with humor and humility.
A great balance of romantic drama, emotional evolution, and humor. This book kept me hooked and invested in it's characters from start to finish. It's villains were very clearly villains and rather 2 dimensional, in a way that wasn't overly realistic. I'm not sure that was a bad thing, in a way it was refreshing not to have to sympathize with them. On the other hand a bit of humanity would have made a little more sense how our main characters got suckered into allowing them any space in their lives. It also would have made the one redemption arc feel more organic and acceptable. Overall, however, I felt this was a really entertaining read! I'll be following this author for sure.
This was a fun enemies to lovers story. I enjoyed Chloe and Cameron’s relationship changing as the backstory was revealed and they spent time with each other. Plus the pets!
I will say I think Chloe’s car was a bad influence — she got a lot more sane once that thing was out of the picture. And the Mafia guys were kind of cartoonish. But Lexi and Alice were good friends and Cameron’s mom turned out to have a bit of an arc, so on the whole the cast really contributed to the story. There were a number of funny moments too, like the ice cream gala and when Cameron’s mom dropped what she saw in the garden.
This was such a beautiful story! I enjoyed the characters, the story, and the caliber of the writing! This was well-written, and only one or two word choices broke my immersion. The characters were delightful and fleshed-out and I was invested in their struggles. My only complaint is that I felt the story was a little too... surface, meaning the story didn't feel terribly urgent leading up to the climax. In keeping with that flatness, the climax itself felt a bit... underwhelming. With that said, I still enjoyed this book! I would recommend it especially to someone who isn't sure if they like the genre of sapphic erotic romance yet.
This turned out to be an enjoyable book. I had my doubts at first. Then the story got to rolling along slowly. Chloe's character came into focus followed by her childhood enemy, Cameron. Their lives have been intertwined far more than they realized. You could say that this is a slow burn novel, but I'll have you know when these two ignite, it burns HOT!
2,5⭐️. I felt zero anticipation while reading this. It was predictable in every possible way. I got bored quickly but I couldn't let it go without finish it. The book was kinda funny at some points and the story was cute and easygoing but that is definitely not a reason for this book to stick in my mind for long. As soon as I start to read a new book this one is going to be automatically deleted from my memory once and for all.

Enjoyed this a lot. Great story, well plotted and written, even the mandatory break before the happy ever after was kept small and not a huge thing. Funny, thoughtful, loving, a really enjoyable read, which I needed SO much after some of the stuff I’ve been reading of late, this was a most welcome respite. Really enjoy Olivia’s works.
Yes there are a few tropes and some angst, good stuff and bad, and even the kitchen sink. BUT, I kept reading for the love and laughter. Enjoy the characters, they are worth it.
I enjoyed the lightheartedness of the characters and playfulness between the leads. Families healing together thru long lost love reconnecting. Highly recommended! Wholesome and hott storyline.
I loved this one. So very funny, the descriptions had me clearly visualizing every faux pas and laughing all over the screen. At last, a lesbian story with almost no angst. Where's book 2?
What’s going on? I seem to have stumbled into a mass of WTF books? Crime, mafia, rejection, it’s all go and all I want is a simply love story! My bad. Recommendations?
A cute romcom of childhoods friends who found each other again by romcom chance. Drama, cheesy lines and reconnecting the two now older women back together! Very slow burn until it isn’t!
This book will have you laughing, cringing, laughing some more while cheering on the two main characters. Childhood friends to forever, with a few dumps along the way.
