A missing boy

Another awful death. I hate those. They all are but this one was tough on me. Alexis continues to annoy me and I do believe Mitch is getting a little tired of her too. But then he's not. It was,a crash book. I do lobe this author and I will continue reading it. She is getting closer and closer to.finding the killer. Oh wait.maybe.its him getting closer and closer to.her??? Hmmm...

Immediately I was pulled back into the continuation of the killer and Alexis story as I flip the pages my heart rate rockets up looking through the eyes of the killer. When Benji disappears Alexis is on his case worrying the killer who took and murdered her sister was at it again and she prays she'll find him before it's to late. There's a huge surprise waiting for you @ the end.

FOREST OF LIES is the fourth instalment in Kate Gable’s contemporary, adult ALEXIS FORREST FBI MYSTERY THRILLER series focusing on thirty year old, FBI Agent/ forensic psychologist Alexis Forrest.

SOME BACKGROUND: Twenty years earlier, Alexis’ older sister Maddie was abducted and murdered, destroying the Forrest family in the process. With her return to Broken Hill to investigate a series of similar abductions, Alexis will reconnect with family, and the man who once held her heart.

Told from dual first person perspective (Alexis Forrest / Killer) and third person (Peter) FOREST OF LIES follows two paths: the ongoing search for a serial killer, and the disappearance of a fourteen year old boy. Alexis Forrest is on leave from the FBI as she endeavors to help the Broken Hill police in the wake of a potential serial killer but as Alexis continues to investigate a decades old series of disappearances and murders, the small town Broken Hill is not immune to the smaller but no less heart breaking cases of kidnappings and murder. When a fourteen year old boy goes missing, his parents’ separation and divorce take center stage but as Alexis digs deeper, help from an unlikely source points the finger at an unlikely suspect.

Meanwhile, the serial killer continues to taunt our story line heroine, leaving personal messages and threats involving family and friends. Refusing to give up, Alexis and her boyfriend Mitch journey to where it all may have started, discovering a killer’s reputation goes back decades and years.

FOREST OF LIES is a story of family and betrayal, madness and murder, obsession and delusion. The fast paced premise is suspenseful and dramatic; the characters are determined and dynamic; the romance continues in the face of threats against our story line couple.

Another fantastic edge of your seat thriller that has our protagonist, FBI agent Alexis vowing to find the serial killer who killer her sister Maddie. But besides dealing with that, it seems the serial killer is always one step ahead of Alexis and is leaving her notes about going after her family. Ultimately, he wants to get Alexis so he continues his games with her. When Police Captain, Felch's nephew goes missing, he is told to stand down, but he trusts Alexis to help find him, she and her partner fear it might be the serial killer again so time is of the essence. With so much Alexis has to deal with, her boyfriend, Mitch and their relationship and the safety of her parents. When her father's place is on fire and he is missing, the serial killer is getting closer. He seems to know more about Alexis than anyone else. once you start this book in the series, you are hooked from the very beginning and can't put it down! Get ready for a surprise ending! I can't wait to see what happens next and if she will finally put the killer down. I highly recommend this series and this book is a fantastic addition with so many twists and turns. Can she find Captain Felch's missing nephew before it's too late? Can she find her missing father? Was the fire of her father's place the work of the serial killer? You must read this book. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

This is the fourth book in the Alexis Forrest FBI Mystery Thriller series. Alexis is still in Broken Hill as the FBI has not assigned her to a new location yet. Alexis is still an emotional prisoner of her sister's death. She can't move past her obsession with catching the serial killer. The killer has the same obsession with Alexis as she has with him. Problem is, he knows far more about her than she does about him. He is fascinated with her as her sister was his biggest challenge, so he thinks Alexis will be even more huge challenge.

The killer is bored so has decided to up his game. He threatens Alexis' loved ones. Alexis isn't learning much from her past mistakes so keeps doing things that not only put her in danger, but cause issues in her relationship with Mitch. She promises to let him know when she goes somewhere, but never follows through. I don't know that she will ever think beyond what she wants. Mitch, once again, gave her a pass after this most recent fallout. She seems to always be pushing him away which frustrates me.

In the middle of all this personal chaos, Captain Felch's nephew disappears and Alexis is asked to help find him. Since it is a family member, the case is off-limits to Felch, but he trusts Alexis. Can Alexis keep her head in the game to find the nephew while still dealing with her family issues and boyfriend issues due to the constant threat of the killer hanging over her head? As the suspense grows, all we can do is go along for the ride....an exciting, roller coaster of drama and suspense. Enjoy!

Forest of Lies is Book 4 of Kate Gable’s exceptional series which continues the relationship between Alexis, the FBI agent and criminal psychologist, and Mitch, book store owner and her boyfriend, who find their lives in danger due to the serial killer, Tyler, who was responsible for the death of Alexia’s older sister. The parents of Alexis find they are also targets of Tyler. Furthermore, Alexis is asked by Police Captain Felch to help search for another missing child, Pete, who is his fourteen year old nephew. This book starts with mystery, suspense and danger and never slows down until the final page. Prepare yourself for an emotional journey while reading this book which ends in a cliffhanger. The next book in the series is Forest of Obsession.

The suspense is killing me. Each time I read a new book in this series I feel like Alexis gets closer to finding the killer and yet other things in life get in the way. Because life does go on, there are always interruptions; other cases, problems within her family and trying to juggle her choices. Alexis is also waiting to find out where she will be located. She wants to remain in Broken Hill to see where her relationship will go but she also wants to work. Her work is her life. Mitch seems to be supportive but he worries about her. When the killer begins taunting her, stating he is watching her, Mitch becomes even more stressed. This author does a great job of keeping the story carrying over to each new book. Plus there is the added story within the novel of a case Alexis needs to work on that keeps the reader occupied while trying to figure out when Tyler will strike next.

Yet again I just wanted to keep reading. FBI Agent Alexis Forrest is back in her hometown of Broken Hill where her sister went missing as a child and was murdered. It has come to light that the wrong person was imprisoned and further crimes have occurred. This book focuses on a well behaved 14 year old boy who goes missing and Alexis is asked to help with the case. Her rekindled relationship with a former boyfriend Mitch continues to flourish. We are left waiting for the next book to see if Alexis can find the serial killer.

This series is getting more exciting, and mysterious, I love Alexis and Mitch, they make a great couple, and he understands her job.

The net is closing in on the serial killer it's only a matter of time before he makes a mistake, he is watching Alexis and sending her notes but his time will come.

Even with all this going on Alexis still makes time to find out what happened to the captain's nephew and work out who had done it

I can't wait for the next book.

This is the fourth book in the Alexis Forrest series. Alexis and Mitch’s relationship is growing stronger and being in Broken Hill gives Alexis time to look into her sister’s case too. Unexpectedly Captain Felch’s nephew goes missing and he asks Alexis to help him with the case. It’s hard for the Captain to sit back and let others take the lead, but he trusts Alexis with her FBI training to solve this case fast for him.

This series just gets better and better and pulls me in deeper and deeper. I love getting the bits from the POV of The Killer. To get into his thoughts, and where they take him. The story is also able to twist up my heart. I love Alexis, her strength, and everything that she's dealing with as the story progresses. Throw in the intense nail biting and I'm here, so ready for more!

Loved book 4, things are getting to a critical point for Alexis and her serial killer. While trying to find a fourteen year old boy that's missing and happens to be the chief's nephew Alexis is being taunted from the killer. Will they find the boy alive? Will the killer get her before she gets him?

I love the characters and the relationship with Mitch and Alexis. Although this book was great it was a bit slow for me. I'm still involved with the storyline and want a solution to Maddie's death.
I will definitely keep reading until this story ends.

Kate Gable has become one of my favorite authors.

Loved this book. The poor missing boy was sad. The serial killer portion is very creepy. To think someone is watching your every move but you never see them. It is hard to put these books down. You get sucked in. I love this series and look forward to the next book. Definitely a twist.
