This book was okay. There was not much I would consider paranormal in this book. There are flashback scenes throughout that gave more back story to the MMC. The world the majority of the book takes place in was pretty basic without much detail, making it hard to get into this story. The ending also seemed rushed and given to us for the happy ever after. It has potential but not fully there for me.

I want to start off by saying I was happy to get approved for an ARC of this book. Now I will share my honest review.

So this started off a little rocky for me, it's been a while since I read a book strictly in the males POV and no romance. So I kept going and by the end I felt better about it.

This is a modern day Dante's Inferno story. Touched base on a lot of issues involving race, sex, and ethics. Some traits of the main character bothered me, but he got better as the story progressed. I gave it a three because a good bit of it wasn't predictable and I like when a book can keep me guessing. All in all it was a good book, just not my normal read and I most likely won't reread it.
