I always believed that girls like me didn’t find happily-ever-afters. But despite my sordid past and personal demons, the Miami Hush Club promised to make my every fantasy a reality.
With a membership, they could gift me my dream job, dream car, dream house, and the perfect life for me and my little family. They easily sucked me into the madness and twisted me inside out, caging me until I didn’t know right from wrong.
The steep price of entry? My darkest secret.
There’s only one problem. Some secrets destroy. Some crush. Some fragment. Some even endanger the ones I love, and the one man I never imagined I would. Because some secrets, when shared, give power. And power is a dangerous thing. Especially when the one pulling my strings, playing god, has the terrifying means to destroy me.
And worst of all, after I’ve given my secret away, I find the only thing that’s left is my wrecked and tortured soul. But guess what? Nothing’s safe. The club can take that too.
If Michelle Warren had a spirit animal, it would be a tiger in a pink tutu, riding a Harley through a ring of fire. She lives in Chicago, dreams of California but hails from Baltimore. She has a slight obsession with travel, sunshine, Double Chocolate Milano cookies and writing novels. She didn’t travel the road to writer immediately. She spent over a decade as professional illustrator and designer. Her artistic creativity combined with her love of science fiction, paranormal and fantasy led her to write her first novel.
I just finished it moments ago and I am HOOKED. Episode One starts out with a bang and will leave you wanting more – good thing the next one will be out in one week!!!! This was such a PERFECT quick and fun read. It was HOT and I can tell it is going to be getting even hotter … I feel something scandalous and A LOT OF FUN coming! I am intrigued and cannot wait to read more! I love how this series is starting off and it will certainly be something for you to look forward to the next few Mondays as you get the next episode remaining in the series. It will be like watching one of your favorite shows each week.
Michelle Warren is definitely one of my favorite authors, I still cannot believe this is the same author that first captured me in her Young Adult fantasy world genre and then was able to switch gears with her recent New Adult Romance “HE + SHE” – which I LOVED and now this SPICY new series. Keep on writing Michelle….. in ANY genre, I will be reading it all!
Nik basically sold her soul to the devil but not before her psycho sister did. Interesting read and excited to see what happens next. BTW, thank you Michelle Warren for not making the wait time between books forever.
OMG what the hell! I love this....no I hate it.....oh hell I love it. It was a short read that draws you in. I did find myself wanting to strangle a couple of the characters but then again what good book doesn't draw on our emotions
I went into this story expecting to see a heroine sucked into a world of money, intrigue, and elitist types who were willing to do anything and anyone to get what they wanted...including give up their biggest and most damning secret. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, because well before Nic even finds out about the mysterious Miami Hush Club, we learn a bit about the twisted roads she’s taken in life. She’s a single mom to Hayden, a little boy stricken with cancer but on the road to recovery, and she’s a responsible, hard-working woman looking to make it in the world so she can provide better for her son. But oooh, that’s not all! Her past, which is tied to her self-absorbed, bitchy, but “still family” sister, and a man she’d much rather forget, is starting to bleed into her new life, just as she’s coming undone over a man who made her feel alive again.
There are so many tangled webs here, and I’m dying to see how they all unravel or uncoil or blow up! On one hand, I love the devoted mom in Nic, but then she’s got this inner vixen that comes out in force for the yummy Vega, and wow it’s hot!! Then there’s the club, which she’s jumped into with blinders on and could very well mean an end to so many things for her. Will she mess up and bring down the wrath of whoever is running the show? Will her ex come back to ruin everything she’s worked for? I for one can’t wait to find out!!
Quotes:
He turns as if he senses me watching him, and his glimmering gaze finds mine. I stare for a moment, locked in his sights, but as quickly as the connection is made, my play-it-safe warning signals win over, reining in my desire, and I glance away, looking at the floor. ~Loc 307
I stiffen, shocked for a moment that he sought me out, but then I smile, painfully aware that despite all the drinks, I’m still feeling conflicted. But mostly because he may somehow know what I’m thinking—I want to lick you all over. ~Loc 332
“I guess I should have separated you two earlier.” “Tell me about it.” I take another gulp of wine. “Your poor starved and shriveled vagina was probably clutching like a grabby hand, hungry for a meal. I’ll bet you devoured him like a sex buffet.” I purse my lips, withholding my response. Her assessment is truer than I would care to admit. ~Loc 625

This is a must read serial! HOT & SIZZLING Michelle Warren has you asking the question... What's your secert? The tempting cover matches the equally seductive inside. One click and prepare for a heat wave.
Not my usual read, but Warren could write a technical manual for installing software and I'd read it! Suspenseful! Interesting twists and turns. Well thought out plot. (Not for the faint of heart.)
Episode 1 was about introducing the audience to Nic and how life used to be like for her. With the help of Alex, Nic went back to her old ways quite fast. Let’s just say her old ways were quite hot, or naughty depending on how you look at it. Even with her sometimes naughty ways, I still liked Nic. She genuinely wanted to do right by her son plus everyone has flaws and a past. Given her past was a little more scandalous than most but I think her sister being more naughty than her made it seem not as bad. Now, Alex I cannot say the same thing about. The fact that she was so rude was just a little much at times but at least she seemed to care about Nic and her son. The introduction of the Miami Hush Club was quite intriguing and I definitely wanted to see more of that world and what it entailed. To me the introduction of the club was the best part because I love a good mystery. I actually thought that this part should have ended a chapter earlier. The place it did end on was good but I felt like it was more “omg I need the next part” a chapter earlier than where it did end.
I am absolutely loving serials right now!! I love the way they give you just a little and leave you wanting more, needing the next week to pass so you can have the next piece of the puzzle. Miami Hush Club does just this.
Volume One seems to set everything up. We get background information on the main character Nic, her past, present, and what she longs for for the future. It leaves you intrigued and having a ton of questions. You don't expect or understand what exactly is happening, but that's what makes it so good, the need to find out how everything will tie together and why it is happening.
I loved that this isn't something you could fathom happening to you and it's like you get to live out the story with the main character. I'm now left with needing the next installment to see where this crazy, shocking story takes us. The ending of this installment leaves you saying WHAT!!! And hoping the next week flies by. Can't wait to experience more of the Miami Hush Club.
I am totally intrigued and caught up in the spell of this series and I can't wait to see what will happen next. Would I give up my biggest and most important secret, for all my dreams? I would like to say no, but when you are tempted with everything who knows what you would do. This was an awesome mix of intrigue, sexiness, and a lot of mystery. I loved that cliffhanger and all the character relationships yet to be explored. Episode 2 can't come soon enough!
One thing I know is that Michelle creates wonderful covers. Another thing is that she writes beautiful prose, lovely characters and stories with mind-blowing turnarounds.
The last one is that I need this book badly and I hope to love it as much as I loved her other two stories.
This was an interesting book, and I’m still trying to figure out what is going on.
I somewhat like Nicolette. She seems to be trying to do right with her life, but she also appears to want to break out of it a bit. I absolutely despise her sister, Alex. (Ugh..)
We aren't given a ton to go on in episode one, so I’m excited to find out more about the Miami Hush Club!
Miami Hush Club is a dark serial that has a warning in the very beginning. That's right, it has a warning. Episode 1 is, naturally, the first in the series and it's written by Michelle Warren. She's the author of the Wander Dust trilogy and the new adult romance, He+She.
The first thing that came to my mind was the warning before the adventure begins. I was excited at what she could have in store for us. I love Michelle Warren's ease at writing. The story was easy to get into and the writing wasn't too simple to be boring or too intelligent. It felt . . . real. Yes, the writing felt real. I felt everything the main character was feeling and I loved it.
I was also a bit scared by it.
Not that anything too bad happens, at least not yet. However, I still feel the lingering dread that something more is about to happen. The prose and the secretive attributes to the club Nic enters into is reminiscent to Devil's Advocate. You know the movie. It stars Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. In the movie, a lawyer is hired by a huge firm and begins to realize that his boss is Satan.
Okay, so none of that happens in Episode 1 of Miami Hush Club, but I still had that underlying dread that the movie spurred in me. I have a feeling there's something otherworldly about this club. Especially, due to what and how Nic entered. Just what is her deepest secret? What is the club? Will she get out or be sucked into its dark world?
These are questions I am left with. It is both aggrivating and exciting. And of course, that only means I need to dive into Episode 2.
I will tell you now that this review will contain no spoilers and will contain no information from the plot. This book is so intense and mind-bending you need to go in with no prior information. I promise you it will make this book series experience totally worth it.
What a ride! This is a HOT new series that is full of mind-bending twists and turns with enough steam to light your kindle on fire. I have never read a book or series that this one. It's originality along with its suspenseful plot will have you begging for more until the very end.
This is the beginning of Nic and Vega's story... or is it? Nic is a single mom whose world is about to be turned upside down with one invitation to the most elite club in the world. Full of passion, desires, chances, opportunities, mystery, and the unexpected, the Miami Hush Club can make you dreams and fantasies come true. But with every want there is a price to pay.
Vega... super yummy! I love his dominant and alpha personality. Nic, I love her personality and take charge attitude but I sense that Nic is deep with scars to prove it. I cannot wait to know more about them and more specifically, her relationship with her sister, twisted as it may be.
4.5 Stars After leaving Miami 10 years ago from running a wildly successful escort service that folded after Nicolette found her sister Alex in bed with her boyfriend Casper, she needs to return this summer for a internship at Z news. Her dream job if she can get it. She just needs to keep the past where it is, in the past, she’s a mother now she needs to think about her son and their future.
Nic is the oldest one for the internship which means she needs to work harder, and there’s only one place at the end of the summer now not room for all three of the interns so it’s a competition is on between all three of them.
With Nic being offered entrance to a Elite Secret Society that helps make all your dreams come true from wealth, men, success. She has tough decisions ahead to fall back into her old life or get that story that could insure her career and the life she wants to give her son Hayden.
“What do you want me to say? I have a paranoia of anything miniature. Animals, kids donut holes, dicks-I don’t discriminate. I don’t trust the little bastards. Go big or go home.”
What’s not to love a story based out of Miami, SeXy men, with two crazy sisters Nicolette and Alex partying in Hottest clubs and bickering all the time. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in book 2.
Miami Hush Club exceeded every expectation that I had for it. Actually, it blew me away. From the blurb, there is not much to know about the book, but the covers completely drew me in. They are beautiful, artistic, and a little bit naughty, much like the books.
Michelle has done an amazing job with the story of sisters Nic and Alex. Nic is the nice girl with a naughty side, who took a ride with the devil and lost her way. She has paid her penance and is now looking for a better life for herself and her son. Alex is a queen bitch who does almost anything to undermine her sister. Bitter and ruthless, Alex is so easy to hate.
Miami Hush Club is original, sexy, and will leave you breathless. Each book in the serial is better than the next. There are major twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
*These books were given to me for a fair and honest review
So, I am really loving this "new" idea of a series of books or episodes. You get to read a little of the story, get hooked and then wait patiently (ehem...not really) for the next episode to come out in a week or so. This first episode of Miami Hush Club gives a lot of back story about Nic and why she is coming back to Miami after 10 years, along with an amazingly steamy scene in a dance club and a little bit of mystery too. Great read -- fun, sexy and fast! Ready for episode 2...now!
Nicolette has a young son who need lots of medical treatment. She is going back to Miami (where she was in the escort business) to work as an intern. She meets a mysterious club where if she gives up her darkest secret she may get everything she desires. What will she choose?
This book comes with a warning from the author so I recommend reading that before deciding if you want to read the book.
I have no clue what is happening but I like it so far!!! At 97 pages, I was able to finish in one night but there is no way I'm waiting for the post office to get the next episode. Glad to see episode two e-read is still free, will probably devour the entire series by the end of the week. This is a serial so you should be left with only questions at this point and shouldn't expect answers yet. Fast-paced, tightly written, and suspenseful, I'm excited to read more by this author.
The main thing that attracted me to this book was the title and then the awesome cover. I saw the book mentioned in a book club while I was actually searching for another book; I decided to download it and could not put it down. I really wonder what the other books will bring.....can't wait to start reading them!!
I didn't enjoy this book very much. The writing didn't capture me, and the characters didn't interest me. I think the plot was a bit intriguing, but honestly I felt the execution came across as... very melodramatic, and to me, that doesn't seem real. I think the sex scene wasn't bad, and I may or may not read the second book.
Life kept getting in the way so it took me a couple days to read this. Nicolette has had some serious life problems since college. I was a little confused about a few things but I'm sure it will be explained in later books. I'm intrigued so far to keep reading.
This book was ok but didn't grab my attention and I hate that! This has been on my list to read and I doubt I will read the rest..I just hate that. It was so predictable and I didn't feel the spark. I might go back and read the rest of the series.
