PLOT: Trent is a hitman who is just trying to do his job. His newest target, Morgan, doesn't seem like she should be one. She's just a college influencer whose dad manages her. Trent trusts his gut and gets closer to Morgan and soon finds out things are not as they seem.

THOUGHTS: I liked it, but I didn't love it. I was incredibly bored during some moments.

I knew as soon as I began this book it was going to be amazing and it really was I was hooked right from the start. This book is a age gap romance, romantic suspense, friends to lovers romance with stalker vibes that is a must read.

Trent is a hit man that always follows his instincts and when his mission is to take out a potential target he just knows, he knows that something isn't right.
Morgan is a student who is also an extremely popular social media influencer that doesn't seem to see any of this around her or what Trent is doing to keep her safe


I absolutely loved this story line it was so captivating and I freaking loved these characters they were really great to connect with and the chemistry these guys have was amazing. I loved seeing how protective Trent is over Morgan and I loved that he doesn't care because all he knows that he must do is keep her safe.
This is a quick read with insta love and spicy but also tender moments that I loved. I couldn't out this book down and read it in one day.I absolutely absolutely love how this author writes and she always pulls me inside the world right until the very end. I highly recommend this book.

If you are looking for a fast-paced romance where the MMC (Trent) is a hitman and the FMC (Morgan) is his target, then you 100% need to give this book a try!

I could not put this book down. The writing was easy to follow, the characters were likeable, the plot was entertaining, and the two main characters had an amazing relationship.

This is an age-gap and friends-to-lovers romance so not only was Trent mature, but he was the sweetest guy. It was really nice to read about a guy who knows how to act like a gentleman and not just a complete ass. HOWEVER, did Trent eliminate/fight anyone who harmed her? Yes. Did Trent know how to get down and dirty in the bedroom? 100% Yes! So while Trent acted like he would never hurt a fly while he was with Morgan, he also never hesitated to protect her when she needed him 😍

Overall, this was a great fast-paced romance that I highly recommend! Please check trigger warnings as some topics discussed in this book are not suitable for everyone. Thank you Literally Yours PR and C. Hallman for the ARC 🫶

This is a relatively short, fast paced, easy to read, romantic suspense, age gap, stalker romance. While the age gap is there, it isn’t really a major factor in this story. I also didn’t really get a true stalker romance vibe from this one. Morgan, the FMC, is supposed to be the target of a hit by Trent, the MMC. Instead, Trent ends up trying to prove the innocence of his target and take down the real bad guys. While this one is fast paced and the relationship between the main characters heats up quickly, the story didn’t feel rushed. I also thought the characters were likable and relatable. Trent is jealous and possessive but overall wants to protect Morgan which he does time and time again. Morgan wants to be free to make her own decisions and have a clear sense of direction and home. In the end, Trent becomes the new home that Morgan wants and Morgan gives Trent a renewed purpose. The plot is entertaining and easy to follow but does have some dark subject matter at times so be sure to read the trigger warnings. While I liked this story, I didn’t love it but I DID love this quote: “You always hear about heartbreak and how to get over it, but no one ever talks about the heartbreak that comes from something that may never come to be. There’s no advice on what to do with the life you think you could’ve had with someone who never comes to fruition when you’re forced to continue with your life as if this person hasn’t forever changed it.” Thankfully, Morgan and Trent did get an emotional and satisfying HEA to their story making this a solid read in my book.

He is assigned to eliminate Morgan Thomson a 19 year old college freshman only something feels off after he begins watching her. Soon he request a verification on her alleged involvement in a potential bomb threat. He soon realized there's more here than meets the eye. He knows he shouldn't get close to a mark but he needs information so he pretends to be a new student on campus where they end up literally bumping into each other. They form more than a friendship when they become involved and he vows to protect her no matter the consequences.
Buckle up for a story that starts with a hitman turned protector that intertwines danger, romance, some overstepping frat boys, an overbearing father, human trafficking and kidnapping all rolled into one thrilling ride.

I found the plot to FORBIDDEN TARGET to be freshingly different angle on an influencer character and an assassin. The age gap isn’t immediately apparent, but as the story progresses, the 13 year difference is obvious.

There are some eyebrow raising romantic encounters and page turning suspense, so I really enjoyed the book.

Where it fell short for me was the chemistry between the characters. I liked the tension of knowing more, a good start that introduced the book. After all, how many books open up to disclose that the main character is a threat.

Trent is a thirty-two year old former CIA turn hitman for working for The Hotel, a shadow government organization. He was contracted to do a hit on nineteen Morgan Thomson, a college student and Instagram influencer. He was told that she was a terrorist who was planning on bombing the school. However, as Trent lie perched up on an apartment building scoping out Morgan at the university campus there's a dread in his stomach that something was off. She didn't look like the usual targets that he was sent to eliminate. There was nothing about her that raised any red flags in his mind or screamed danger. When he was given the assignment he thought that he was going after a disturbed outcast looking to hurt innocent students. He didn't expected to see a blond bombshell who looked like she she'd hurt a fly. The more time he spent looking through his scope of his gun on her he thought to himself that it had to be a mistake. He's typically good at reading people, but nothing about her showcase that she's the threat. The more he looks at her something foreign stir in his chest, he wants to protect her. He doesn't want to kill an innocent person so he calls The Hotel and tells them his theory and asks for more intel before he does the hit.
However, in the mean time while he waits for them to get back to him he decides to get a little closer to her. He decided to pose a new college student who transferred from a community college and studing criminal justice. He bumped into her accidentally and starts up a conversation. He asks her for coffee and went but before she leaves he gives her his number. He trails her home and noticed an odd interaction between her and her dad which was puzzling to him. Morgan dad is overbearing and also her manager over her Instagram account and handles every deal. He treats her more like a handler more than father. The more time that he spends with her and learn about her and her habits there's nothing about her that screams a terrorist. He realize that there are something bigger at play and everything is not what it seems. One day after a date Morgan had car troubles and Trent gave her a ride home. Her dad was waiting at the door for her to hurry up and get on line. He had even picked out her dress. Morgan wanted to spend more time with Trent and lied about her tripod being broken so that he could come to her room.
As she go through her routine advertising the products Trent notice something. He notice that she was unknowingly doing black market advertising in her Instagram lives. Because she was reading from a script that her father gave her. Base on the script was advertising human trafficking. He took a look at the website and although everything seems on the up. She kept on saying the same thing in the live and he remembered from his CIA days that it were codes and cherry were for virgins for human trafficers. He realized that she was advertising five virgins which only lasted twenty-four hours based on the lipstick Cherrypop. Morgan dad had put her in danger. When he confronts her dad and asks him who's BMF Cosmetics and who he gets his deal from he could tell that her father is guilty and knows what's going on. Trent is a breath of fresh air to everything that's going on in her life and people who always want something from her. The line between pretend and reality blur and Trent took the virginity of his target.
Morgan and her dad was held captive in their home by mask man and her dad was beaten. But Trent came in and save them and killing the guys. Morgan was unknowingly working for The Chernakov Bratva doing human trafficking through advertisment and advertising dates, the amount of females, virgins, and the time for auctions. The Chernakov Bratva are competitors with The Rosario Family and had taken over the whole area with their business. They put out a hit on Morgan after Trent had a change of heart after see gut tells him that Morgan was innocent. The Rosario's had even frame her about the bombing by stealing her credit card and hacking into her email and leaving a paper trail to make her look guilty. However, after Trent failed to go through with the hit they send some other assassin to go through with the job.
Trent was reassign and told to end things with his target and to stay away by his employer and that they would take things from there with auction to bring down Cristian Rosario. He tells Morgan that he was reassign and that he was leaving but she didn't take the news well. She decided to go to a frat party to get drunk and to forget about Trent. But things didn't work out as she would like to as she groped by Brody and he was going to take her in his room against her will. She was flabbergasted when Trent showed all jealousy and threatening kill Brody. He told Brody that no one touches what belong to him because she was his. He realized that he can't stay away from her no matter how hard he tries. When Trent went to take down Cristian at the auction Morgan got kidnapped and entered in the auction with the girls to be shipped internationally because he had broke up his other auction. When Trent goes to rescue her what ensue is chaos and mayhem as he and his team kill Cristian and his guys and rescued Morgan and the other girls. Cristian framed Morgan and put out the hit as a revenge against her father who wouldn't do business with him. After saving her Trent finally realized that he had fallen in love with her and couldn't be away from her. He quit his job as an assassin and decided to work inside The Hotel and he and Morgan would live on the property to keep her safe from his enemies. This was a swoon-worthy story and another absorbing addicting and unputdownable read from C. Hallman.

Trent, (our MMC) is a thirty two year old, handsome and muscular sniper, who had his mark.. Morgan Thomson (our MFC) is supposedly a terrorist to take out. Morgan is an innocent nineteen year old freshman. Blue eyed, blond bombshell that deffinatly does not fit the characteristics of a terrorist that “The Hotel”(a shadow government agency) says she is.
It just didn’t feel right so he goes undercover as a student at her college to check her out further.
Turns out the Chernakov Bratva
Was behind setting the hit in place. The words she read, given to her by her father was Code for Human Trafficking.
Rosario Family, an Italian was involved too.
In the process of figuring out who’s involved and how to handle it all, Trent pulls himself back from Morgan emotionally and physically. He had over stepped the rules from day one on what a mark was supposed to be to him. He got too close and involved and things happened between the two of them. Its hurts Morgan deeply because it was her first and she was very confused.
When he gets reassigned to another job and tells her the jobs done there without mentioning anything about the two of them..
She decides to go to a frat party to try and forget him. He hears it on the bug he had originally put on her and shows up to the party. Turns out, other guys don’t touch what’s HIS! Kinda funny but way sexy what goes down there!😛
This was my perfect book! Had Morgan, our innocent but fiery MFC. And Trent our MMC who could not let go of his “mark”. Him being the over protective alpha male towards her. Ohh this book is full of suspense, drama, excitement, spiciness and so much more.
A highly suggested read. C Hallman at her best!!🥰👍🏻.

This book was so good! I was eating up every page! Trent was seriously everything I enjoy in a book boyfriend plus some right from the beginning. This book had such great world building and amazing suspense! This had good plot and spice. I truly just loved this!

Trent was a hitman hired to do a job and when he feels with his gut something is wrong with this hit. He decides they need to look further into it because this girl just can’t be who they are looking for. Morgan is a popular influencer just promoting products she doesn’t really know much about. Her dad controls her socials for her. She also is a full time college student. When Morgan meets Trent, the chemistry is just perfect. Dangerous things happen but they trust each other.

Morgan is just an innocent 19-year-old college student. Or is she not?
Someone believes she is a threat. Trent works for The Hotel and Morgan is meant to be his target. A line is crossed when he has a gut feeling that something isn't right and he needs more information before following his orders to take her out. Morgan seems like a typical young adult but what she goes through is anything but typical. There's more to her dad than meets the eye. One would think that you could trust your dad to watch your back and protect you more than anyone else in your life not put your life in danger.
Trent has the nickname of "Lone Wolf" at work and we've seen him just a little bit before in previous books about an organization that worked within a place called the Hotel in books called Hotel Manager and Decision Maker by this author. We see Trent realizing that he sometimes needs to work with others in this story and....that he has a heart. When he gets a feeling that something just isn't right he goes with his gut and looks into the situation more. Ultimately he saves more than just his humanity.

This is a great suspenseful love story with mystery and lots of action and danger. I enjoyed this and highly recommend it! No need to read the other books I mentioned as this is a standalone HEA but I highly recommend the others as well.

An age gap, stalker romance when a hitman for a shadowy government organisation fell for his target. On the surface nineteen-year-old Morgan is just a typical student, with a side gig as an influencer on social media. Assassin Trent was suspicious right from the start, not believing Morgan to be guilty of the crime she was accused of so he ‘accidentally bumped into her to get closer and possibly discover the truth. However, the more he learns the more his instincts tell him that something isn’t quite right, and Morgan was unwittingly involved in something dark.

This was a fast paced, quick read that ties into the world of the Hotel Manager and the Decision Maker - books also written by this author. The overall story was well written with a great flow to it and enough twists and turns in the plot that kept me so engrossed I ended up reading Forbidden Target in a couple of hours. There was obvious chemistry between the hero and heroine despite their differences - Trent was thirty-two but obviously looked younger if he passed for a college student ten years younger while Morgan did come across as being slightly naïve but I think that appealed to Trent’s overprotective nature considering he wanted to ‘unalive’ anyone who looked at his woman although on one instance he came up with a less final but more spicy punishment for someone who dared to touch what was his.

Wow! I loved this book. It’s easy to read and has wonderful characters. Great world building and addictive and suspenseful plot. Bonus-we see Natalie from The Hotel Manager from time to time.

Trent is a hired man to eliminate people. Not just any people, the bad ones. The Hitman. Morgan Thomson is his target. After a few hours of surveillance he finds his contract to be strange. The girl loooks like she wouldn’t hurt a fly, let alone plan a terroristic attack. So he decides to get to know her better, to get to the bottom of the things.

Morgan is a popular Instagram princess and town’s famous girl. She’s sweet and kind. And would never hurt anyone purposefully. When she meets Trent sparks fly. Their chemistry is off the charts. They need to overcome very dangerous and scary situations to be able to be together, even though it seems impossible.

Overall I loved reading this book and can’t wait to read the rest of this series. If you’re in the mood for age gap, hitman/stalker romance, then I highly recommend reading this book.

Anything by C. Hallman is almost guaranteed to be a great read, so I knew I was going to enjoy this story too! and Ms Hallman did not fail to deliver! I basically devoured the book as soon as I could!

This was a good, relatively quick, fast paced read.

This book is a great example of ‘boy meets girl’ then ‘boy wants girl’ to ‘boy obsessed with girl’ to ‘touch her & die’.
From the moment Trent lays eyes on Morgan he likes her. And is soon very quickly obsessed with Morgan.
Trent’s job changes the moment he lays eyes on Morgan. What was supposed to be a ‘hit’ to end Morgan’s life metamorphoses into protecting & saving Morgan’s life.

I love that Trent got his own storyline! We first met Trent in ‘The Hotel Manager’ & again in ‘The Decision Maker’ as a minor character.
Although you don’t need to read any previous books to enjoy this story. This can be read as a standalone.

4.5 stars! Happily surprised!

Forbidden Target is part of the Forbidden Dreams Series of standalones, a kind of 'stalker' romance with Trent and Mirgan ax protagonusts.

I'll say I was hapilly surprised because, one, after turning some pages I saw that it was set in C. Hallman's The Hotel world, and second, I was totally not expecting the story and that is why I say it is kind of and not a 'traditional' stalker romance.

I actually found it to be the best plot in The Hotel Series, energetic, suspenseful, tension filled with great plot twists regarding the threat, the perpretators, the method, the suspicions and the involment.

I don't want to give much away, so I'll just say that I absolutely loved Trent and Morgan's connection and resulting relationship even though intentions weren't discolsed and there were upterior motives, but the ultimate goal completely saved the behavior, specially after Trent's trained eye saw that things weren't adding.

It is a simple but well executed concept and I don't have the minimal doubt readers are gonna love these two!

What can I say about this book? I'm absolutely in love with this book. It's in the same universe as the "Hotel Manager", but reading the other novels in this universe is not necessary to enjoy this book. Trent is not just a hitm@n that follows orders without a second thought. He's smart and has a great intuition which leads him to dig deeper into his newly assigned job. Morgan is the target. Someone has targeted Morgan saying she is planning an attack. Morgan is a normal college student that has an immense following on social media platforms. See why Trent feels like there is something off when he's studying Morgan. Something isn't right and behind the friendly face that Morgan plasters in front her followers and friends, she is overwhelmed and unhappy feeling more like a product than a person. Trent infiltrates her life and as the deeper he gets, more questions appear. Why is Morgan the target of this hit? The book delves deeper into the mystery and it is a must read.

This story is set in the world of The Hotel Manager, and our MMC, Trent, is a hitman for the secret government organization. He's watching his target, our FMC, Morgan, but she looks like an average college freshman taking selfies with friends and posting on social media. She's not looking around to see if she's being followed which creates doubts on whether a mistake was made. While Natalie (From the author's The Decision Maker) is checking things further, Trent decides to get close to see if Morgan shows any signs face to face. The more time he spends learning her habits, the more he believes something bigger is happening that involves the innocent Morgan and her father. Good suspense buildup to the finish!
There's not a lot of character development in this relatively short story, but we get to see the softer side of Trent, the Lone Wolf. 3.5 stars.

I absolutely loved this story. If you’ve read Decision Maker, you will know who Trent is. He is known as the Lone Wolf because he likes to work alone. He is The Hotel’s a$$a$$in and is very good at his job. His next target is Morgan, but something doesn’t sit right with him. He decides to follow his gut and get more information about her. This is an age gap, new friends to lovers read. There is suspense, drama, secrets, lies, revelations, twists and steam. These two have an instant connection with each other and their chemistry is off the charts hot.🥵 Is his gut right about Morgan and can he prove that he’s right before something happens? I was hooked from the beginning to the very end. I had a hard time putting it down because I needed to know what would happen next.

Her hitman, her stalker, her savior

Well this romance took quite a few turns and an HEA as questionable, but they made it. A little TW there is human trafficking in this book so be aware if that is an issue for you.

Trent and Morgan made an interesting but fitting couple. She’s his target, he’s supposed to take her out. But he questions the motives and uncovers quite the conspiracy. Can he keep her safe and find out who’s behind everything? There is on page steam throughout the book including a scene that shows someone else what they’re missing after touching what belongs to Trent. Pretty hot stuff. I wasn’t sure how this book was going to end but overall I was happy with where they ended up. An epilogue in the future would have been awesome but still a good ending.

Morgan is living on borrowed time, but she’s so innocent she doesn’t have a clue that someone wants her dead. Trent’s assignment isn’t unusual, his target is giving him doubts Ty though. The chemistry between them is undeniable and a really bad idea. There’s danger, lots of action, and intense energy that complicates everything.

C Hallman is so dang talented: her characters are relatable, sexy, and their stories are always very interesting. Morgan and Trent have some deliciously dirty, steamy, and erotic scenes that are sweetly touching. Trent is patient and caring, Morgan is beautifully responsive, and together they’re dynamite! I enjoyed reading their story and visiting the Hotel again!.

This is the story about Trent who is a hitman and his target is a very beautiful cheerful all smiley type girl Margot. Trent is going with his gut and look into more about the target and couldn't help but fall in love with the cute sunshine

Hitman Trent delves deeper when his target is not what she is purported to be by the intelligence provided to him. Morgan is a young woman, a 19 year old college student that is very much under the thumb of her overbearing dad/manager. Trent pretends to be something he is very much not so he can get closer to her--extremely close to her—until he blows his cover and terribly hurts her more than once. I really like her calling him out on his pursuit of her and reminding him of reality versus what he built in his head.

When Trent stays his mission to take out his mark, its for a good reason - the facts in the file was given just didn’t add up to what he was seeing right before his eyes. In fact, following his gut leads to uncovering a whole ball of wax he was not prepared to delve into, but when it becomes clear Morgan’s life is in danger, he does what he need to do to keep her safe and figure out what really is going on behind her semblance of a perfect college student’s life. Exciting read, and now I have some background to another installment to The Hotel series I had read previously.

Protecting the target! This is about Trent and Morgan. He is an assassin, and his next job is to take a terrorist, Morgan (based on the notes provided) well Lucky for Morgan, he observed her before pulling the trigger and realized that she couldn't kill a fly, much less bomb a school. The unfortunate part is that while the office looked into this, someone else put another target on her, and now he needed to protect her. She is much younger than him but is mature for her age and loves what she sees in Trent. This story has some action as human trafficking is involved, and Trent is determined to end it.

Hitman Romance

Trent is a Hitman and he has a new assignment. The only problem is that his next hit is not what he expected. Morgan is way too innocent to be on his hit-list and he decides to figure out why. While doing so, the attraction between the two builds and soon enough Morgan has a protector instead of a Hitman.

I really enjoyed this story. The plot was good and of course steamy. Check trigger warnings since there is some content that isn’t for everyone. Overall, very good and enjoyable.

I just finished ForbiddenTarget by author
C. Hallman. If you want a great read full of drama, suspense, action, and nice scenes😊. This is a book for you. The author was fluid and had me zigzagging, with twists and a plot I did not see coming 😳 The world build was vivid, along with the characters. I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. I hope you read this and enjoy it as much as I did! I am looking forward to reading more of your work C. Hallman, you hit it right out the ball park!

Forbidden Target is the 3rd book in the Forbidden Dreams series and it follows Hitman - Trent. When his assignment to take out Morgan doesn't go to plan and he becomes entangled in her life getting much more than they bargained for. Even though there was an obvious age gap between them I didn't focus on that much. Just their relationship together which kept me engaged all the way through this book. A good, quick read.
