In 1947 something crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. Years later it found its way onto fast food menus. The government said it was safe. The aliens said it needed to be controlled. Andy Holstein said it was lunch.Andy Holstein's entire life has been a joke...he is just never the one who was laughing. Until recently, the only source of comfort in Andy's life has been fast food cheeseburgers. Now something inside Andy promises revenge, promises him everything he has ever wanted. All he has to do is keep eating cheeseburgers - keep feeding the pink slime.

Pink slime is a meat by-product used as a food additive to ground beef and beef-based processed meats
"It's not like they would let us eat something that wasn't safe."
When a lonely, overweight fast-food lover becomes an oozing pink blob capable of digesting the entire planet, it's up to a nerd, a G-man, and an alien to save the day. This is basically just gross, silly fun, but if you're looking for a great B movie type read for Spooktober . . . look no further.
You know that goop that they use as filler in fast food burgers? It’s called pink slime. Most people think they know what it is and where it comes from, but they’re dead wrong.
Andy Holstein gets very little pleasure out of life. He’s morbidly obese, works in a sporting goods store with people who constantly mock and berate him, and lives with his older sister, who is constantly trying to get him to live a healthier lifestyle. He’s only truly happy when he is at the local fast food joint stuffing his face. He realizes what those quadruple bacon cheeseburgers are doing to his appearance, but not what they’re doing to him on a genetic level. The schmutz that’s mixed in with the beef isn’t from this world, and it’s turning him into something horrific.
I loved reading this book. While it was definitely a horror/sci-fi novel, it was very funny at times. Goodhue gives us some great characters and makes it hard not to be empathetic toward Andy before he becomes a monster. I wasn’t expecting anything as poignant as, “It was the only place where Andy was allowed to be more than his appearance,” but Goodhue delivered.
Pink Slime is a fast-paced, funny, scary book that I had a lot of fun reading. If you’re like me and fell in love with horror watching the classics, you’ll appreciate the homage to The Blob. Even if you aren’t big on the black-and-whites, though, this is one to check out.
To start out, this book was glorious. Chock-full of humor, horror, and everything in between. So few books are able to make me actually laugh out loud, but this succeeded where so many have failed. Goodhue has delivered yet another fantastic look into a strange and twisted world. Fast food is not your friend. Stay away from the Stuff and fear The Blob. But read this book!!
I always wondered about that pink slime I heard was being pumped into the beef in fast food. This novella takes that and comes to the only normal conclusions. LOL Very fun and very very gross and nasty. Some good action and gross out fun. I had a good time reading this one and I think you will too, if that sort of stuff appeals to you like it does to me.
A new take on the blob, with black ops kinda and aliens and of course conspiracy. I liked it because it also had a kind of moral to it. And the ending was something I never expected.
This book hooked me from the start and never let me go. The amazing writing and imaginative theme make this book thrilling. I caught myself saying "That seems right" many times. If you like a thrilling combo of Sufi and morbid thus book is for you.
