Anika is ready for her final trials but first she must stop the hailstorm of mischief a jealous rival has set free on the unsuspecting town in this charming and witchy paranormal fantasy.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of magical action and drama. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and draw the reader deeper into the story of these captivating characters.

Passion sizzles between Anika and hunky warlock lover, Drake as they have to pull out all the stops to put an end to the magical mischief wreaking havoc on the town. Spine tingling danger and exciting and believable battles full of magic take place throughout the story ensuring that the reader never gets bored. Of course, there is the added drama of having to decide what to do with the spiteful witch that caused the problems and I must say that I was quite impressed with the unique solution to such a troublemaker.

Unfortunately, the story is short because I was not ready for it to end, it was quite exciting from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read what happens next.

REVIEW
In this book we have Anika a witch and her boyfriend Drake who is a warlock but a good one who fights the dark ones. We also have Tamara who at one time was Anika’s best friend but one day while Anika is making up a potion of sorts Tamara decides to throw something into the batch and it makes the potion evil. It escapes and all hell breaks loose. Its up to Anika and Drake to stop it but will they be able to do so before anything seriously bad happens?

The author has given in this book many different varieties of paranormal creatures
We meet Faing who is Anika’s pet dragon , we meet werewolves who no one really knew were even in town. We also meet an Imp and then we have a fairy.
The book was hilarious in some spots and pretty suspenseful in other areas. I enjoyed it !!!

So if you want a quick cute read grab the book !!!

Anika longs for the day when she takes her final witch’s exam and can be free to leave the manor and use her magic at will without all the constant monitoring. While she is preparing her spell for her final her once friend turned enemy decides it’s a great time to pop in and cause mayhem. Tamara has a deep rooted hatred for all things Anika and is bound and determined to see her fail. She purposely ruins Anika’s spell and unleashes havoc on the town right below the manor. Drake is a warlock and Anika’s main squeeze. He fights against the Dark Ones and love Anika with all his being. When magic is let loose he along with her faithful pet dragon Faing help her to eradicate it. Along the way Anika meets some new friends. This is a wonderful tale of magic, love and the consequences of misusing one’s gifts. I cannot wait for the next installment!

This was such an entertaining book!! It's cute and whimsical. It had comedy and mystery. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. It's an amazing start to what I hope is going to be a series! Of course my favorite character was Ginger. Ginger is so funny and cheeky I couldn't get enough of her. I borrowed this book from amazon prime. After reading it I bought it. I had to have this book in my personal library. If you're looking for a whimsical paranormal romance this is the one you can't miss. I can't wait to read more from Lutz.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book. It was fast paced and full of action. I felt that she had taken the Paranormal Romance, something that I’ve read many times before and put her own unique spin on it. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys a paranormal romance without the erotic edge. My only complaint…I WANT MORE. I need more Drake and Anika!!

Wow can someone say a witch, her dragon, her sexy, chiseled, did I mention yummy warlock boyfriend and other supernatural.. oh yes all rolled into one awesome book. I so want a pet dragon please. This is an excellent kick your feet back and enjoy during your lunch break short story. I recommend this to any paranormal book lover. This can be read as a stand alone, but I personally cant wait to see what comes next for Anika and Drake. Not a dull moment in the book, it kept me entertained the whole read.

This story is about Anika Webb, she is a witch awaiting to "graduate" from Mystic Manor. She is anxious and is trying to do everything as she is supposed to, taking extra precautions to ensure safety. She is practicing a spell to perform in front of the High Priestess, if she succeeds and the spell in a success she will awarded. But Anika has an enemy that will do anything to see her fail. Anika finds herself having to fight some magic gone array. Luckily for her she has some help from her beefcake warlock boyfriend Drake. They try to get the magic under control... so they have some alone time for their selves. Will they succeed or will her enemy prevail?

favorite passages:

"You're an ungrateful lizard," she mumbled."
"Save you miss know-it-all lecture and warnings and shove them up your a**." (some might find the author's word choice offending.)
"Drake sneered with disgust; every inch of his skin crawled from her touch."
"I collect them like souvenirs; each mark, a reminder of the high cost of using magic."
"Score one for the chicken-sh** witch and her trusty broom." (some might find the author's word choice offending.)
"You better not, mosquito."
"You can tell him that I left that make and model of broom in my bat cave, right next to this doggy bowl."
"Fury blazed like an inferno in his eyes as he hunted the last of the magic."
"Hey! Lets us out of here before you squash us with your gross love-moves!"
"No wonder, you're my favorite pup of the litter."
"Wait your turn, beefcake."
"So what you're saying is that I am a snoop and a thief, who also has a Queen with a bunch of boogie men to answer to?"
"You have me, too, beefcake."

Passing her final exam was the most important thing to Anika at this point in her life. Passing it would mean she would be able to use magic without being supervised and along with that…freedom! The second important thing in Anika’s life was her hunky boyfriend Drake…the tall, dark and handsome…Oh… and well-built warlock who would do anything within his power to protect Anika from harm. With a great cast of characters from Faing, Anika’s trusty little Dragon to the High Priestess Skye along with Tamra, the once best friend turned jealous thorn in Anika’s side and Ginger…a fairy who joins Anika and Drake to find a spell that has run a stray. We also meet a pack of werewolves who befriend our little group and who give them safe passage through their Inn to continue on their way to chase the spell. Each character plays an important role in this fast paced…action filled story told by Ms. Lutz who spins such a great story in great detail. This is one of those stories that once you begin it you do not want it to end. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella and I am really hoping that this will be the beginning of a series. I would love to see what adventures the characters continue to get into and would gladly follow along on their journey and have many friends who I know once they read this story will be wanting more just as I do! Great job Ms. Lutz and Thank you for a a very entertaining story!

It's Anika's final exam. If she can pass this, then she will be free to use magic outside her coven. You see, Anika is a witch. Not only is she a witch, but she is a powerful one. While making her final enchantment, her former friend Tamra comes in and disrupts her. What Tamra does next is mean and vindictive. Just like her apparently. The bulk of the story is Anika and her man Drake attempting to clean up the results of the now botched enchantment.

This story is fast paced, witty and charming. I read it all in one sitting. I wanted more, I had all these questions popping into my head and could see a whole series developing. I LOVED IT!!!!! My faves are Ginger and Faing. Want to know who or what they are? Want to know what happens to Tamra? Then one click this story today. You will be glad you did.

Oh, by the way, is there any way to add more stars?? This book deserves a whole lot more than 5. I tried adding those lil star stickers, but all it did was cover my screen.

My first thought when I started to read Chasing Magic was that this book is way too short (only 70pgs) to be very good. Detail…description…to me, these things help make the book come to life. BUT: I was so wrong! There were absolutely no gaps! I was immediately stuck in Anika’s world of witches and warlocks and Tamra the spiteful ex best friend. Fae, Imps, Werewolves….they all make an appearance! Until Ginger (the fairy) joined the group, Faing (a dragon with special talents) was my favorite character.

Continuous surprises and shocking revelations. Bound to a demon, will Anika be able to stop the darkness unleashed by Tamra? Will she pass her final test and be a practicing witch without the supervision of the coven?
My favorite quote: “Score one for the chicken-shit witch and her trusty broom.”

Chasing Magic has it all! Gena D. Lutz has created an outrageously exciting world. I can’t wait to read more of Anika’s story. I would definitely recommend this amazing book to all fantasy lovers.

** Read as part of the Hearts Of Darkness Box Set **

Chasing Magic is a quick, sweet, delightful, and magical read.

We meet Anika a witch and her boyfriend Drake a warlock, who fights the witches and warlocks that have turned dark. The set up was nicely done and our story takes off on an adventure where Anika and Drake work together to control the bad magic that has gotten out. We are also treated to some hilarious spots, a verity of fun supernatural creatures and an adorable dragon, who’s Anika’s familiar.

Chasing Magic was a whirlwind of magical and charming characters. I enjoyed this spellbinding short story!

This is a great paranormal novella. Anika is a powerful witch who is ready to take her final witch’s exam. She has been studying hard because she is ready to live without being constantly monitored, plus she wants to spend some time with her sexy warlock lover, Drake. Anika is practicing for her final exam when her jealous ex-friend, Tamara seeks to sabotage her.
Tamara is jealous of Anika’s magic and wants Drake for herself. Tamara ruins Anika’s powerful spell she is practicing which unleashes a dark power over the city. It is up to Anika, with the help from Drake, her pet dragon Faing, and a fairy to stop this dark power before it is too late. Even thought this book is a novella, it is packed full of excitement. If you love a short, sweet, paranormal, with magic then you need to read this book.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I received a copy from the Author for an honest review.
That being said, I honestly, really enjoyed this book. Though it is short it is packed full of engaging characters and almost non stop (magic chasing) action. The main characters are Anika and Drake and along with Faing, Anika's dragon , they are tracking down the magic that escaped Anika while preparing for her final spell. The chase is on...... stop the magic, save the humans it touches, get back in time to for her final before the High Priestess and finally a litte alone time with her sweetie.
If you like witches and warlocks (and other paranormal beasties), I recommend this one.

Very good read! Gena never fails to amaze me with the stories that she writes. I haven't read a book of hers yet that I haven't LOVED.Faing is my absolute favorite character in this book. Drake is the kind of guy that women love to read about and Anika is just enough Bad-Ass to make her awesome. All in all a great read and a story that I will probably read over and over again. As always, I will be anxiously awaiting whatever comes next! I would recommend to anyone that loves light-hearted paranormal/romance books.

Gena D. Lutz has given us another fantastic story. It' a love story between Anika, a witch, and Drake, a warlock, and together they have to overcome an evil that was let loose. Has different supernaturals besides the witch and warlock. There is Anika's pet dragon-Faing who I just adored. Also have a fairy, werewolves and an imp. Even though this is a short story, be prepared for a grand adventure. The story pulls you in from the beginning to the end. I highly recommend it and you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

WOW!! Witches, dragons, brooms, a fairy, and a moment of werewolves what more do you need! Plus a great story that once I started I literally didn’t put down until it was done. The author tells a great story that I personally didn’t want to end, I love the characters and how they interact with each other. It’s a fun story that had me smiling for the whole book. I hope to read more about this group because I want to be part of their next adventure. A must read for those who love paranormal and just fun stories.

Delightful

I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. I love it when a story is action packed and fast paced. The characters were well developed and the world building detailed enough that I could picture it all in my mind. The plot was interesting with the good guys and the bad guys working to their respective agendas. Witches, warlocks, dragons, fairies, and demons all packed into one delightful story. I will be reading more books by this author.

Cute and fun loving!

High paced and full of action, I loved this story and would love to see it made into a full length novel! It was a great read but it only took me a little over an hour to read it and I was left wanting for more! NOT a bad thing in this case!

If you’re looking for a quick, fast, fun and great read than this is definitely the book for you! I’ll be looking forward to more books from Gena D. Lutz anxiously!

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the way Gena writes. She puts a lot of effort into the description of things - - makes you feel that you are right there taking part in the story. I also love how she keeps you on the edge of your seat with wondering what is going to happen next - yet the story doesn't really ever give itself away.
Definitely another one of those - - I can't stop reading this type book!!!!

A charming tale of magic gone awry. This is a sweet story of a witch, her warlock, her nifty broom, and what happened when magic is tampered with. Follow Anika around on a sweet journey as she tries to right her wayward magic and meet a few fun quirky friends along the way. You'll fall in love with Chasing Magic through the pages of this story, and wishing you had a bit of magic all your own!

One Magically Awesome Read!

I don’t even know where to start with this one! It was FANTASTIC! I love Gena’s writing and this book is a perfect reason why! Following an almost-full, able-to-use-magic-on-her-own, Witch named Anika as she prepares for her final exam is cool on its own. But add in Tamra, the “villain” who was once her best friend and is very bitter towards Anika. Of course Tamra meddles with Anika’s final exam and causes the magic to escape, leaving Anika to “catch & clean up” the escaped magic. Add in one smoking hot Warlock, Drake, one fully adjustable Dragon, Faing, and you get one awesome mixed cast of characters. The story focuses on Anika working with Drake & company to clean up the mess that Tamra made. There are so many elements in this book that I love but I would have to say that Faing and Ginger just gave the story that little extra something. There is just the right mix of humor, magic, romance, conflict and everything else that goes into a great story. I sincerely hope that this is the first book or a prequel to a new series by Gena! I love the world, characters and magical EVERYTHING that Gena has created here and it is definitely detailed and done well enough to support more stories. If you have read any books from Gena you will know & appreciate her talent for taking “typical” or “normal” paranormal elements and putting her own spin on them to make it all seem original and new. And what a true talent it is! All in its own write, I mean, right. My only problem with Gena’s books is that I don’t get much sleep when reading them as I cannot put them down! So if you enjoy being entertained, love light-hearted, fun, paranormal stories that have a hot guy, a good strong, talented female lead, and a host of other great characters, then this is the book for you!

This was my first witch book and I LOVE IT, I am HOOKED!!! I can't wait to get my hands on the next one so Miss Gena better get busy!!

I love the camaraderie and hotness between Anika and Drake...the fire and passion between them POPS off the pages at you. I can't even begin to explain how I feel about Faing; I love that this "little" Dragon can change from 6" to 10'..he is such a pain in the arse, yet you love him immediately. Ginger is SOOO much fun, I laughed so much, especially when she calls Drake "Beef Cake". This book is full of twists, turns, maham, laughter and some teary eyed situations.

I highly recommend this book, and as I said I can't wait for the next book to see what happens between Anika and Drake, between The Wolves and Anika and Drake, and the funny times to come with Faing and Ginger!!

Chasing Magic was a great, easy read. Anika is a very powerful witch who is creating a spell for her final exams. Cue her nemesis, who tries to disrupt things, the jealous little witch. Good fun follows as Anika and boyfriend, Drake a warlock, try to track down the spell gone awry. With great supporting characters, including her familiar and a very cheeky fairy, Anika and Drake try to save the town from the spell gone wild and get back in time to see if they can explain all this to the High Priestess. I must say, I thought this was part of a series the way it was written. It sounded like I was coming in in the middle of the story. Lots of good fun, and I really hope Gena continues these characters. I think it would make a great series. I would certainly buy the next one.

I really would like to see a full story with these characters. As i new to this author i hope she wants to take this story beyond this short novella.
