This was really good! I fly through this series because I think it’s really easy to understand and follow along. I loooove Darius and Nara. Their relationship is probably one of my favourites and I love how protective his is.

I did tear up during this because why did Rina have to go and do us dirty like that 😭.

I do think the ending was really rushed though. I was really hoping to see more and it was over very quickly

A World of Ruins is a breathtaking and emotional conclusion to a series that has captured my heart. Watching the characters I've grown to love finally get their happy ending filled me with such joy, even though it also brought a bittersweet sadness because I didn’t want to say goodbye.

While the ending felt a bit rushed, with so much happening quickly and the final battle squeezed into just one chapter, it didn't take away from the magic of the story. Getting inside Darius’s mind was incredible. His fierce determination to protect the love of his life made my heart swell. We always knew he would go to any lengths for her, but seeing it through his eyes made my heart ache in the best way.

Their love is so pure and powerful—it’s truly something to behold. They are my Roman Empire, a love story I will carry with me forever.

As I turned the last page, I felt a wave of sadness wash over me. I’m going to miss this world and these characters so much. Yet, there’s a glimmer of hope in me that we might one day return to their story, maybe even see the little ones Darius dreamed about!

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I had to take breaks because it was so intense, breaking my heart and healing it all at once. A World of Ruins played with my emotions like no other, and it’s a story that will stay with me for a long, long time. This book isn’t just a story; it’s an experience I won’t ever forget.

A huge thank you to Areen from Wildfire Books for sending me an ARC. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

*There are no specific spoilers in this review, I tried to be as vague as possible*

Let me start with I really like the author of these books. The first two in this series I was in love with, but this finale…I was disappointed. I was absolutely ensnared until halfway through the book, when it felt like everything was coming together and there was some beautiful, satisfying ending in sight. Except, I was halfway through the book so there was no way this ending was near, and sadly this is where my review comes into play.

I feel like this book was rushed, plot points were being thrown from all directions, and I was getting whiplash from the amount of “okay they saved the world” to “ actually there’s ANOTHER problem so hold your horses cause they aren’t done yet.” All the sub-plot points near the end felt like loose ends the author kept forgetting to tie up so she just threw them in there, leaving me really confused and honestly wishing the book ended 200 pages ago.

I still adore this series and re-read the first two books all the time, but this finale just didn’t quite do it for me.

Darius's capture has Nara aching for his return from the moment she awakens in Aeris. Surrounded by both familiar and stranger, getting Darius back is priority number one. Fighting their new hosts, the bond between Darius and his captor, and Nara's own self doubt, getting Darius back proves to be,ugh trickier than Nara would like. Darius deserves a rescue. But will he return the same Darius who was taken? Will he be on the same side? Has his feelings for Nara changed just when they were about to figure things out? The Isle of Elements is still deteriorating. Aurum is in power. The world is crumbling. The people are against them. Saving Everfell is turning to be a bigger challenge than they originally thought. With a final battle looming and a death of an inner circle member fresh on her mind, Nara will do everything in her power to win. But will it be enough to save their world?

These characters. This story. The banter! I'm in love. The dragons are amazing. The bonds leave nothing to be desired. This book had me angry, laughing, and crying. I'm so glad the story is wrapped up but I would have liked a little more in the epilogue. Epilogues don't have to be just one chapter and it seems like it was very vague and just left me wanting a little more.

I'm still crying! This book made me feel stressed and anxious for most of it, especially the last 10 chapters! I was done with everything and wanted it to end because my heart could not take any more heartbreak!

I think when it comes to the enjoyment of this book, it was very much a mix of everything happening all at once or nothing is happening. Some parts were interesting and had me on the edge of my seat, and with some chapters, I was counting pages.

When it comes to our main characters, Nara and Darius, I can't but love them! Especially Darius!!! He stole my heart, and I believed his love for Nara without his POV. They were great together, and I'm happy that they finally have a happy ending.

I'm also hoping that there would be some sort of novel or standalone or a series about Arliyana? Because I feel like we were given some interesting information and nothing happened...? And I feel like not everything has been resolved, so I would hope for some sort of continuation!!!

DNF.
From book 2 I have felt such a disconnect from these characters, and just not really caring for the plot but I decided to try to give book 3 a shot thinking surely things would be more fast paced and we would have answers and get some where with these characters but 200 pages in and it felt like nothing was really happening and it seemed impossible to me for this to be the final book without majorly rushing that ending.

And while I say I wanted the pace to pick up, I do think there were elements seemingly important to the progression of the plot that was not being explored or answered. It became evident at 200 pages in that they would not be given their due and would just magically be all good and then the plot would conclude. It just was not a series for me which is super disappointing as I really enjoyed book 1.

“You deserve it all, Nara, and I will do everything to ensure you have it, because the day you don’t smile, I will know I have not done my job right. I dream of your smile, of that laugh that comes out of you when you feel free. I don’t ever want to stop hearing it, and if that day ever comes, I will rip worlds apart just to hear it again.”

This wasn’t as good as the first two. Felt a bit rushed. I love warrior tibith though. Picturing him with his leaf armor and a little knife. Cute.
Had a bittersweet ending. How they defeated the villain seemed very quick for how much of a build up there was. But it was entertaining nonetheless.

This series will forever hold a special place in my heart. This booked absolutely wrecked me, i’ve only ever cried twice whilst reading, this book included. I had to put the book down and just breathe, i could barely read the words through the tears, if you’ve read the book you know what scene i’m talking about. This author knew how to play my emotions and i’m not even complaining. I loved every character, especially Sarilyn seeing how she grew as a character. I loved the ending and i’m desperately wanting a book about Kirian, since there were potential hints. Love love loveee this author, honestly one of the best books i’ve read in a while :)

Perhaps the best of the series. It’s tough to leave the characters who have grown in you behind. It’s even tougher to lose characters that have been a part of the series since the very beginning.

Darius and Nara are the classic romance story. Darius will do anything for Nara. She is his saving Grace who brings him back from the black depths. And while Nara still makes reckless decisions, Darius backs her on them.

The supporting characters are some of my favorites. Really, anyone who doesn’t appreciate Tibith is no friend of mine. HEAs all around, except for the ones we mourn.

It was a good book to end the series!

Though I will say the whole thing was rushed 😕
The amount of plots that happened during this was INSANE, to think that Darius was captured at the start of this book is crazy.

I will say that some of the dialogue was a little cringey, especially during the war scene at the end, also why was it only a chapter long??

If I'm going to be honest I only rate this book 2.5 stars because of Nara and Darius ❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

It did feel rushed, but my main complaint is the way the Fallcrowns were handled. We saw the princesses like once and they got tossed aside. What about Aeron and Arlayna? Not to mention, Thallan remained King, sent half his army to aid Aurum and apparently he didn't take part of the final battle. Man got away with everything! Did the author forget about this or there will be another series around Arlayna? Because this can't be.

This conclusion to the series was good, but not amazing. I was expecting more… :(

Most of the plot was predictable and it wasn’t very convincing. It sounded like a lot of books I have already read. The last battle lasted only 20 pages, which made me feel like the ending was rushed.

I do love most of the characters, especially Darius and Tibith, they are so funny, and I will miss them. But I am not sure I would read this series again.

I absolutely loved the ending of this series! I felt so much while reading this book and never wanted to put it down. It has so much love between friends, family, and romance, it made the characters that much easier to love. I felt everything from giggling at sassy lines to crying at certain points and it gave everything I was looking for!

Holy crap. What a wild ride. So many throne of glass vibes… but there are dragons. I sobbed just like I did with Manon and the 13. Aurum and Maeve would’ve made the perfect couple to rot in hell together. 🤬 Darius is 🔥 and every time he calls her Goldie I melted. This series was amazing and this was the perfect ending even though there was some 💔.

Wow! I couldnt not put this down!

When i started the first book, I struggled to get into it. It was a slow build but at the same time, it built the world beautifully. But since finishing book 1 I have DEVOURED books 2 and 3. So many ups and downs. So many twits and turns!

Really really enjoyed it

This was amazing - and a beautiful conclusion! The only thing that really didn’t stick well with me was the fact that Nara literally says: “I’m so used to him being the one there to protect me”. Now this might seem harmless, but I just felt that these words almost enforced those stereotypes that men have to be the protectors - so I just didn’t like that. x

Overall I found this series okay. Another book/series that was hyped up online but I found the last book pretty average. It was a very easy to read series with some classic romatasy tropes and plot lines. I do hope this author continues writing and maybe try more complex/unique ideas since she is great at writing and character development!

This is like a high 2 and a low 3. I feel like the author tried to cram too many things into this book and was tripping over ideas/ words at the end bc she felt like she had to just finish the story.

I opened this book in August and did not finish reading it until February. For the last book in a series that I started out loving, I figured I would be excited to read it and see where these characters ended up. I could not have been more wrong.

Darius and Nara are separated. Darius is living in captivity under Aurum and experiencing a host of miseries. While trying to navigate politics, Nara is determined to get Darius back from the clutches of the enemy. As Aurum's power continues to grow, the final tallies are totaled, and the final winner will be decided.

This book should have been split up because too much shit was happening. The action packed and decisional moments happen so quick and so much of the book felt trivial and it dragged. While I love a memory loss trope, this one just pissed me off for some reason because it never felt like there were real stakes or any doubt as to whether Darius would come back to his old self. The mythology and lore of this book could have been so cool, and it was building up so much, but it was over so fast, and I don't think it reached its full potential.

While I love these characters and this world, I don't think that this conclusion delivered, and I was disappointed. I would have rather lived in mystery for the rest of my life.

Nothing groundbreaking in the romatasy trope genre but I really liked the world and characters the au tbh or created. Tibith makes the trilogy worth reading even when the plot or dialogue got cliché. Still enjoyed all 3 books, wouldn’t re read but would recommend all get 3.5 stars

4,5 ⭐ What do you mean there's no more books in this series 😭😭 Damn! I need a novella with the trios adventure and Freya's wedding. Oh and I can't even believe the hot brother died because of a stupid thing. Fucking Aurum.
