I believe this is the authors first book. I could be wrong (correct me). Luca is the oldest son and next in line. The group is having trouble and a rat problem, so his father has a plan to marry him off to grow the family, and he meets Izzy, who he thinks is pure, innocent shelter. Everything is perfect on paper. Little did he know his soon to he wife wasn't really innocent, lol. She hid some parts and played the part. She knew how to handle herself, trained, and did some hacking on the side.
The wedding day was an eventful event. lol Izzy gift to her husband was awesome. I loved that she wanted to show him she could handle herself. The friendships she has with Luca younger brother Enzo were everything loved he was psycho but was nice towards her.
I'll be honest it's very insta and perfect. You wonder what the drama was going to be. And wow. What drama. My heart did hurt for Izzy when she was taken and found out who betrayed her and her husband. And it did hurt when they were going through drama.
I can't wait to see who's next.

I was bored while reading this book but decided to push through because I thought it would get better. But I'm so over the whole "I'm not like other girls" bullshit. STOP🤚🏻 We get that you're a pick me🙄 Like okay, I gave her the benefit of doubt the first because not everyone likes the color pink. But when she kept reiterating that "omg it's so pink! why does this shit have to be so girly???" it just annoyed me ngl😭 The writing didn't hook me, frankly speaking, despite the initial smut scene being decent. It just wasn't enough for me to continue reading and truth be told, it was boring me to tears lol🥱 Izzy's "badass" behavior felt a bit over the top for me (you expect me to believe that a single woman overpowered three men and kidnapped them? I was ready to let that go had it not been for the whole "I'm not like other girls" shit) and I didn't enjoy how frequently Luca kept comparing Izzy to his past fuck buddies like ION WANNA HEAR IT OKAY????? Also side note...but why can't I see the chapters in this book? So weird lol🤨

I just couldn’t stand how the fmc is all “I’m not like other mafia princesses” “I am strong and independent” her discourse is filled with it and the mmc is no different. He’s all bland and his thoughts are not serious enough. His thinking is filled with “I’m bad bc I’m in the mafia and I’m rough and I’m not expecting a virgin bc I’m rough” and then he sees her and he’s “oh he’s not skinny like other girls who eat salads” WTF what’s wrong with being skinny and eating salads?

I thought this book was supposed to be a re-edited?
The amount of grammer mistakes, spelling errors, wrong words used, laziness in choosing adjectives. Everything was 'fuck' and 'shit'
After all the 'I love you'and 'I trust you', he loses trust in her immediately when he sees some pictures and videos? Didn't even give her the benefit of the doubt.
His own brother believed her yet he didn't?
His distrust would have made more sense if the book was a slow burn. But it was Insta lust and Insta love.
The storyline wasn't bad. Just very lazily written. So that's why I'm giving it 2 ⭐

4-4.5 stars for Luca and Izzy!
So this was this authors debut book and it was so good!! I did catch a few typos but it didn’t bother me much or take away from the book.
I love mafia/arranged marriage books and I really enjoyed this one.
I absolutely loved both of these characters!! I loved how Izzy wasn’t a usual sheltered mafia princess but she was a badass who handled things on her own. I thought it was so funny that at their wedding Luca tells her this won’t be a love match and it’s only an arranged marriage and yet TWO days later this man is utterly and completely obsessed and in love with his wife. He definitely falls first. They were together very early on in the book it was like 20% and they were already like sleeping together and I was like well what’s going to happen the rest of the book if they are already so into each other?
Luca was so damn sweet. He was a marshmallow!! Izzy was his everything. He was so possessive, obsessive and protective (all of the ives) and I loved him for it. He was so good to her. I loved that even before he met her he was protective of her. He was like anyone who lays a hand on my wife dies and he was like it may be an arranged marriage but I will never cheat on her. I loved that so much!!
I will say that the first half of the book was kind of boring. There were way too many sex scenes and that’s my reason for not giving it 5 stars. But I still wanted to read it because I loved the characters so much. Once it hits 70% it’s like BAM! All the drama and I was like woah I wasn’t expecting it but it was angsty and I liked it!!!
My favorite character was Enzo. Omg I loved him so much. His relationship with Izzy was so freaking cute and even though he’s a stalker psycho he’s so adorable lol. I can’t wait for his book!!! I also loved Luca’s dad too and wouldn’t mind him having a book even if he is considered old. He’s such a great guy!! But it would be a dead ex trope so idk lol.
Anyway can’t wait for the rest of the series. Such a great job!!

This is now one of my favourite mafia romances.
I absolutely loved the characters in this, Izzy is so fierce, witty and resilient, Luca is a protective sweetheart, and Enzo was adorable as the annoying but loyal brother.
This is a dark mafia romance, there's lots of violence including torture, and you see the darkness of the world they live in, but it's also a highly emotional journey and story of love and growth.
An arranged marriage turns into a perfect pairing for these slightly unhinged psychos, and the spicy scenes were perfect.
If you like stabby FMC, protective MMC, action, twists, a touch of drama, a steamy slow burn but passionate romance, and some twisted violence - this is the book for you.
I can't wait to see Marco and Enzo's stories in the future!

I loved the characters and the mafia world setting. The world building was well described and written, and so are the other characters in the book. I did not expected the plot twist and I loved the ending. Izzy and Luca are so cute together. Also, the spice is 🫠🫠 . They’re perfect for each other.

Loved it! Izzy and Luca were both fun to read. It may have started out as an arranged marriage for business purposes but it ended with love. They’re both unhinged and perfect for eachother, well maybe she’s a little crazier than him 😂
I’m excited for Enzo’s book, he will probably be my favorite character in this series 😄

I give this book 3.5 stars. While at some points I was dying to see what happened next (mainly just the mafia aspect) I also realized that half the book is just smut. I don mind spice in a book but if it's every other chapter, it makes the book pointless. And not to mention the grammar and spelling. They were bad but I didn't really care because I still understood what was happening, although it is unprofessional. I think the only reason I sort of enjoyed this book is the fact that it had a lot of tropes I really like, such as arranged marriages, mafia, short chapters and I also liked the brothers. But I didn't really like Izzy because why is she acting like being a girl is so wrong? I do not support. There's also just not much depth, it's very surface level, not very memorable but if you're looking for a quick read, this book isn't too bad, but I wouldn't recommend to anyone who asked me for recs.

This is my first book by S. Wilson and I absolutely loved it from start to finish 😊 this story follows Luca and Isabella.
Both from mafia families Luca is based in New York and is the heir to his mafia family and Isabella from Chicago. With a war going on and Luca's men are dying his father sets up a deal with Isabella's father in an arranged marriage between the pair. Luca really doesn't want to get married but agrees to it for the sake of his family.
Isabella's mother died when she was 11 and her father has changed since then often reminding her that she should have been a boy and it's her fault her mother died. He's horrible to her so the idea of an arranged marriage is a chance for her to get away from her father while hoping her future husband is a good man. On their wedding day Isabella decides to give Luca a wedding gift in the form of the rat that is selling Luca's family out.
I absolutely loved this story and the fact that the FMC isn't the normal type of mafia princess where she's shy and timid, she's instead crazy as much as Luca and honest to him when her father tries getting her to rat out Luca's family in order to have a one up so he can overrule their family to the point that he even gets her old bodyguard to kidnap her.
Luca is a told swoon even when he decides to give his wedding gift to the FMC in the form of the rats cut tongue in a jar and a bow made of the rats skin 🤣 can not wait to read the next book 😊

Luca knew he had to do his duty to his family and agree to the arranged marriage. He was sure of one thing he wasn’t going to pamper to the mafia princesses needs. More surprised that Luca hadn’t met his wife until the wedding day, he’s surprised when she has a wedding gift for him. Lucas soon realises everything he thought about his wife was wrong and he knows she’s not a princess but a queen.
Izzy never believed in the happily ever after but she’s starting to wonder if she can actually have it with Lucas. Until everything she thought becomes a lie, Lucas was the one person she thought she could depend on and he lets her down. Can he make her realise that he truly does love her and will never make the same mistake again.

I originally wasn’t going to read this book and was going to skip to the second book book. But after reading the first chapter of book 2 I got a sneak peek into this story and knew I needed to read it.

Автор цепляет не мафиозной темой (хотя она и есть), а тем, как раскрыты чувства. Это не просто "мафия и страсти",а история о том, насколько сильно человек может любить. Для меня Лука Романо — настоящий грин-флаг.(хотя были моменты когда раздражал )
Да, 42-я глава просто уничтожила меня, а некоторые последующие — добили окончательно. Но финал оказался хорошим, и это радует.🤗

S.Wilson is a new author to me, but when I saw the tropes that would be in this book, I RAN to sign up for the ARC. Marriage of convenience and mafia.. what more could a girl ask for?! I loved the FMC in this book! Izzy is a secret badass who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself! Honestly, probably one of the strongest FMC I have read in a romance book in a very long time! Luca is an amazing MMC that is secretly a cinnamon roll in my opinion who loves deeply and will die protecting his family. This book is truly amazing and is a book everyone needs in their life if they love mafia, touch her and die, possessive MMC, and marriage of convenience!

MMC gives "touch her and die" as well as "i will give you the match to watch you burn the world down" vibes.
The only thing I didn't like was the minor misscommunication trope/even though he was 'obsessed ' with her, he never bothered to get to know her on more than a surface level.

It wasn't bad. Too cute of a hero for my taste, and very fast paced plot development. But I liked the heroine. Predictable events in places. I'm more interested in the brothers' stories. I will continue reading the rest of the books.

Such a good book, I've never read mafia romance before and this was amazing. A strong female character too, as well as a man who will protect her at all costs. Loved it and couldn't put it down!
