Nino Bellamy has spent his entire life chasing women while avoiding the four-letter word that has never shown him its value. He has always found solace between a woman’s legs, as opposed to the muscle in her chest, upholding the motto pleasure over pain and fulfillment over heartache. His methods have always worked in his favor for the entirety of his life until he crossed paths with her one night.
Ariana Whitfield has been praying for God to remove the dead weight in her life, her current relationship being the bulk of it all. When she finally gets the freedom she’s been seeking, she goes on a mission to get her life back. A night out meant to celebrate her single status leads her to an initial encounter with none other than Nino.
Met with a man with an ego the size of Texas and the sexiness to match, she decides to test the waters, but she gets more than she bargained for. Will Nino discover that giving love a chance can have eternal benefits, or is he too stuck in his ways? Can Ariana give in to this new connection, or will fear of failure loom over her? Find out within the pages of this Contemporary Romance, When Love Calls His Name.
Author’s Nino Bellamy is the brother of Caine Bellamy from Forever After All. If you want a first glimpse of who he is, read that book before reading this one. However, this is a standalone, and it isn’t necessary, but it will give you a better understanding of Nino's mindset.
The read was a whole vibe, you hear me. 😍 We begin with Ariana tiptoeing through life, and dodging the fists of her handsy boyfriend, Jamison. She begged and prayed for a way out of this sham of a relationship, and she finally got her wish. After she was released from hell, Ariana was a whole new woman! She would never allow herself to be in a situation like that again. While getting her life together, tragedy strikes.
Mr. Nino Bellamy! This man is wild as hell, and lives for the foolery! He is hysterical. Does and says the most outlandish ish, that all his family can do is shake their heads! He loves women for what they provide for him. The thought of the word "love" makes him break out into hives. All he wants to do is smash and dash. After bumping into a woman a few times, and she plays him to the left, he is intrigued and wants to know who she is.
When Ariana is in a jam, and needs rescuing, who comes to her aid? You got it, Mr. Nino, or Mr. to the left to the left! 😂 What does Nino do? Offers her shelter and safety until she can figure out her next steps. Hmmmm...... Not Mr. Playboy doing a good deed. While Ariana is in his house, he begins to feel things, and believes he needs to seek medical attention. These two learn a lot about the other during this time, and the chemistry is hot! 🔥The lust is coming forth hard and fast, whatever will they do? Well..... Ariana gives Nino a goodbye gift and walked smooth out his house. The way I hollered! Got this man pouting, calling his momma and ish! 😂
I love to see a ladies' man, succumb to the love of the right woman. Ari was that for Nino, and he did a complete 180 for her! It was beautiful to see him embrace love and intimacy, when he didn't believe he was capable of doing so. This read was full of laughs, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍🏾👍🏾
Yes, you should read this story. If nothing else, the humorous parts were really good. The instant bond between Ariana and Nino sparked from their first encounter. The next three meetings including the rescue had me reeling with anticipation. Nino's sense of humor and his emotional response to Ariana made me like this crazy man even more. You will enjoy this story, I promise.
It took some time for Nino to grow on me. He was very mannish and unlikable for a while. Ariana deserved to find love after dealing with her ex. Nino and Ariana were good together.
I rounded up to three because I listened to the audio version and Ember Bell has to be stopped.
Besides that, the conversation parts were a little off for me. I have never met anyone that talks the way Nino does. I think the author was trying to make him funny but instead it came off as corny, immature and at times, inappropriate.
Ariana was in a whole domestic abuse situation. Jamison tried to set her on fire, and we just glossed over that?? That made absolutely no sense. The time jumps were a lot. She ran to her uncle because Nino said he was afraid of love but not when Jamison beat her and set her house on fire? They actually still don't know.
Since I was able to finish it, 2.5 Stars, rounded to 3 because if I had read it instead of listened, I may have actually liked it a bit more.
3.25⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️Nino is a fool point-blank. I cannot take this book seriously because he just didn’t take anything for real. I can’t say that I like this book better than the first book. It flowed well, and you could feel the chemistry between the two main characters. The only thing I didn’t like was their break-up because it didn’t make sense to me.
Well, Nino didn’t disappoint with his antics. Ariana is with the ****** too. There are some seriously funny moments. You will laugh out loud. However, what’s not funny is domestic violence. The way it was glossed over repeatedly had me wanting to not finish this book. That topic could’ve/should’ve been left out altogether if its conclusion was going to be handled like that! I can’t give this more than 3 stars out of respect for all of the women who have survived domestic violence and those who didn’t.
What a ride it was to go on this journey with Nino & Ariana. It was so fun & entertaining. I never knew what would fly out of Nino’s mouth next, I’m still a bit dizzy from trying to keep up with him. lol.
I love Ariana, for always standing on business. & I appreciate Nino for showing & proving he’d always stand on it with her. He was silly as hell, but one thing he did NOT play about was Ari. Their spice & chemistry was *chef’s kiss*. Nino had a big EGO & knew how to use it.
I loved hearing from Caine, Jashae + the kids as well as Pops & Ma (I loved the intimate moments between Her & Nino). & the small pop up from Phylea.
*slight spoilers below*
I suppose Jamison got what he deserved. “Shout out to the Big Homie” lol I really couldn’t stand him for putting his hands on Ari. Then him taunting her at that wedding after trying to kill her. I suppose I just wanted a first person account of the Karma he faced. Like Nino POV of actually whooping his ass. Cuz I was mad all over again after finding out he caused Ari’s miscarriage.
Also, I was anticipating a resolution about Ari getting answers about her bio parents from Uncle Marquise. It seemed important to her when she brought it up early on, but then we never circled back. & we also never met Uncle’s girlfriend. Lol
Those are my only 2/3 of a complaint. I enjoyed literally everything else over all.
Nino was NEVER falling in love, EVER! All it took was one look at Ariana and all the never evers went flying out the nearest window. Ariana wasn't about to fall victim to another ain't ish man, because her ex Jamison definitely took the cake. So every encounter with Nino was a curbing. That's until he rescued her, literally...like from her house burning around her. Not wanting to involve her friends or family she agrees to stay with Nino until her house can be repaired from suspected arson. Multiple encounters and cohabitation leads Nino to believe Big Homie sent the one. When she ultimately treats him like he's treated every woman before her he has a "Marcus Moment." You know where in Boomerang Jacqueline leaves Marcus with the sheet up to his neck...yeah that! She has this man searching for her in daylight with a flashlight and down bad. Eventually he breaks her down and locks her down fa sho, fa sho! Pops, Caine, and now Nino have their HEAS.😍
The emotional rollercoaster wasn't too bad, but the hilarity of just about everything flowing from Nino's mouth had me really cackling. My son even side eyed me at one point. I've read several Riley Baxter books, and I tell you sis does not miss. She gives you love, depth, individual relationships with God, and growth. I'm a little addicted to her stories at this point. Happy Reading Y'all!💋
I couldn't wait to read Nino's story! The way he dogged hit brother Caine about falling in love with one woman and settling down. I just knew he was going to get the wind knocked out of him when he met the woman of his dreams. And wow did he ever! First I have to say this book was fire!! 🔥🔥 I laughed so much I had tears coming out of my eyes. 😂😂 Nino is too funny and quick with a response. But when he met Ariana it was a done deal. The playa met his match! The chemistry and connection between Nino and Ariana were everything I look for in a story. Their story had some bumps and twists. But it also had some beautiful and amazing moments as well. I think my favorite parts of the book were the.... nope. No spoilers! You'll just have to read the book. Trust and believe you won't be disappointed. Author Riley Baxter did that with Nino's story. Definitely a must-read!!
I read the first book in this series over a year ago but I don’t remember anything about it. And I guess this book fits right on in because in a few weeks I probably won’t remember what happened in it unless I read my review. I was bored for majority of the book.
Don’t get me wrong though. There were a few cute moments, like the prologue. I was confused af at first thinking “isn’t that the author’s name?”, but I caught onto the bit lol. I also thought Nino and Ariana were cute together.
And even though I thought Nino and Ariana were cute, I still got bored reading this book. It’s like after they got together, I found myself starting to check out. Maybe it’s because I didn’t like Nino as much as I thought I would?
On the comedy/humor spectrum, Nino’s jokes lean towards immature, which isn’t a style of comedy I enjoy. His jokes come off as “let me just say some wild shit” instead of just being naturally funny. However, a few of his jokes/comments did make me laugh.
When I was reading about Nino in Caine's book, Forever After All, I knew I had to ask Ms. Riley if Nino was getting a book. I'm so glad she listened to her readers and let Nino have his own story. I knew that Nino was going to be with the shenanigans and he did not disappoint. When he first met Ariana, he tried to deny his feelings but he couldn't get her off of his mind. Subsequent run-ins with her only increased the feelings he had for her. When Ariana faced hardship, Nino stepped up and helped her out. Being around Ariana so much, his feelings for her deepened and Ariana started feeling him as well. Needless to say, once they gave into their passion, there was so much heat between them. There were so many laugh out loud moments in this book; game night, the visits to the doctor, the names Nino gave Ariana, etc. Ariana was Nino's match in every way. She had a slick mouth just like he did and I was there for it. I just loved the way he cherished her and expressed his love for her once he was all in. I was glad that Jamison got what was coming to him on all levels. I was not disappointed at all by this book. It was soooo good from beginning to end.
"When Love Calls His Name" by Riley Baxter is a delightful and easy read. I absolutely love stories where the alpha male gets knocked off his pedestal, and Ariana does NOT disappoint
This sassy heroine quickly puts Nino in his place, shattering his "never fall in love" facade. She's not afraid to challenge him and stand up for herself, making him work for her love. Honestly, it's pure fun watching him squirm.
The chemistry between Nino and Ariana is undeniable. Their banter is hilarious, and Nino's overprotectiveness is seriously swoon-worthy. I couldn't help but root for them throughout the entire story.
If you're looking for a heartwarming romance with a strong female lead and a touch of humor, this book is a must-read!
I LOVED THIS SOOOO MUCH!!!…This was such a beautiful and funny love story!!!… I love how Ariana matches Nino’s energy on every turn and left him with so many misunderstandings about what it was like to be on the receiving end of his own shenanigans!!!… I love the growth in Ariana growth from the toxic relationship she was in previously, versus the one she has with Nino!!!…It goes to show that sometimes ppl hide insides themselves to plz ppl that are not deserving of you at all!!!… This has been a journey for all three men, daddy and his 2 sons and they made it down the aisle with each other’s love and humor!!!… Nunu was a whole clown and I love how he looked to his mother for advice, truth and encouragement!!!…
The author said in the beginning that Nino was her favorite of the Bellamy brothers & I would definitely have to agree because the way Nino was hard pressed about not finding love & always clowning his brother & dad but as soon as he met Ariana he was ready to turn in his player card was insane. Like this man ran into a burning building to save her & he didn’t even know her name let alone had sniffed her treasure 😂 To see his growth & his journey was really good. He went from being an all time player to being a one woman man effortlessly. I love Nino he’s definitely made it on my top book boyfriends list.
I lost my uncle two weeks ago and today was his home going. I started this book at 4 am today to call my nerves for the events of today. I read this book and cried laughing until it was time to leave for the funeral. I survived the funeral and the repass at his son's home, came home and finished reading. I absolutely loved this book. Nino was a complete fool and I loved everything second of his story. Reading is my escape from my real world. Thank you for writing this book so that I could better deal with my emotions and tell my uncle goodbye.
I so enjoyed Nino’s antics in the first Bellamy brothers book. I just knew this book would be awesome. And it didn’t disappoint. Nino an Ariana were a great match. Both have hot personalities. I loved all they went through with each other to get to that happy place. Nino sometimes made you wonder if he road that special yellow bus. But again he did not disappoint. The things said by different friends an family had me laughing while listening to this book at work. Thanks for a great experience. This was a terrific read.
Ariana and Nino are a great match made in nirvana heaven. The way they talk shyt to each other but knowing they have each other's backs is beautiful. Nino is Nino, the most shyt talker that is without the first filter. I love the laughter he brings to any situation and how he's real through and through. Ariana unapologetically loves all sides of him even his ignorance gene. I'm glad love called Nino's name because he finally experiences love and happiness on a new level.
This was such an amazing book. Nino met his match with Ariana. She gave as good as she received with her clapbacks to his foolishness. I loved how Nino embraced the love that he had for Ariana and I knew it would take a special woman to get him to settle down and change his ways. Nino and Ariana were cute together and I loved their banter and chemistry. I would definitely suggest this book.
It was so good to read about Nino falling in love just as har as he fought against love he fought just as harder to keep it because Ariana put it on him but also she just give into him so easily in the beginning I love secondary characters but I wanted a little more on uncle Marquise and her parents but please find Dallas some love cause I know Nino will have jokes for days
Nino & Arianna! From their first interaction together, I was intrigued! Nino is a determined bachelor. Women only serve one purpose in his life, and it's not love. It was cute to watch him resistantly walk towards love with Arianna. Arianna, after suffering abuse from her last relationship, was not looking for another entanglement. Somehow, Nino's rough exterior and Arianna's take back nature comes together for a not sweet but sweet love story.!
Now brother number two was standing firm on what he said that he was always never falling in love but as fate came it came in strong. When Nino met Arie the fight became harder because she wasn't like all the other females as well as not allowing him to treat her the certain way. The Bellamy men found there one true love and it changed them for the better another good read.
This book was funny and I loved it. I must say that it took me a while to like Nino. He grew on me but I just couldn’t get past his body count. That’s my issue and I acknowledge it. I did love his growth into the man Ariana wanted and needed and into the man he was running from. This is a book that makes you think about how life and things that happen in life affects a person.
Riley Baxter is a go to author for me! She never disappoints.
Black love is a breathtaking journey, and I was completely captivated by Nino's quest for forever! Arianna was the perfect match for him, and throughout the pages, their evolution as a couple is nothing short of inspiring. It's amazing to witness how, when you find "the one," everything seamlessly comes together. The chemistry between them sparks joy and excitement, making every moment an adventure in love!
Nino was everything that I thought he was going to be in this book. He was still unhinged and ridiculous in this book. I loved how Arianna calmed him down as much as he could be. Arianna had Sky Daddy on speed dial. When she prayed, he was moving things for her. She even had Nino trying his hand at it. You have to be specific when you request things. You may end up with a psycho with mommy issues who doesn’t play about you.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this love connection between Nino and Arianna. Nino was a playa playa and it was great seeing Arianna bring him literally to his knees. He did a complete160. That ex boyfriend got exactly what he deserved. I bet he'll think twice before abusing another woman. This series has it all: love, laughter and sadness but I'm here for all of it.
If I could give this book 50 stars, I would Nino is hilarious. He is just so raw. Nino tried to fight his attraction for Ariana, As we can tell, he failed, and I'll continue to pray for Ariana 😂. When Ariana needed a hero, Nino was on it. I love their story. I think they are so cute together. I wish the Bellamy's had more children 🥰.
Nico was not looking for love but man did he find it😀 Ariana was not looking for a relationship cause she had just gotten out of a abusive situation but who brings them together Big Homie 😀, she wants to have the whole marriage thing but Nico didn't but guess who had a different p!an Big Homie
Nino, Nino, Nino fell hard!!! Omg! The comedy of Nino made his resistance hilarious!!! I loved this book as much as the first book .The parents of Nino, were too funny! Ariana met her match with Nino; their relationship was sealed from the gate... They didn't know it! The love he poured into fatherhood -Priceless!!!
This book was AMAZING!!! I read the 1st book and was hoping you gave us Nino’s story, I’m SOOO HAPPY YOU DID!!! This story was EVERYTHING I needed in my spirit, laugh, love, happiness, joy & drama!! Thank you again for sharing these wonderful men & women with us!! BBK CREATION - TIKTOK
