This is a sparkling translation that at once takes me back to my own youth and also ahead to old age. The entirety of the book straddles dichotomies such as that one. It feels at once intimate and grand, like a whirlwind of a ride through life and death and beyond — and beyond the beyond. I am so grateful for this thoughtful translation, without which, I might have never known such a daring work existed.
