Everybody Wins is a story about Oscar, Emmy, Hugo, and Tony and their pets. The beginning of the story has Oscar trying to get into a contest to win pizzas but does not have enough box tops to enter. Oscar then enlists his help of his friend Emmy to enter the contest. As the story progresses Oscar enlists help from his other friends Hugo and Tony to enter more contests and share the winnings between them all. During the story the author uses the pictures to demonstrate how to solve division problems. The pictures are used more to illustrate the environment more than the division problems. The division problems are shown in a window of every other page. The only thing I would change about this book is to make the illustrations show more of the division problems in groupings. A good lesson for using methods from this book is to get a group of people and have them win a bag of candy. Then have the students split the candy among them evenly to get the answer to their division problem.

Several friends enter contests and must decide how to divide the prizes amongst themselves. Ths book gives children ideas about what they can do with real life remainders (ex:cookies, toys, etc). This book would work well with second and third graders learning division.
