Subparheroes #13

Signed, I'm Yours!

Rate this book
I'm The Sinister Signature. New York City's biggest supervillain. And anything I sign is mine!

Including the hunky, happy-go-lucky SPAM agent with the bear-bod who catches me red-handed.

Jack "Happy" Lewis.

The man who can never turn his smile into a frown and who's way too excited to be tied to me for the foreseeable future. He drives me up the wall, but at least I've got a guy on the inside who can help me with my mission.

In my search for my missing family, SPAM, the mysterious agency that handles super-powered individuals, and Happy are my only recourse.

There is one problem however.

With Mr. Goody-Two-Shoes stuck by my side, I'm starting to feel...things and I don't like it. It gets worse when we have to pretend we're engaged.

The last thing I need right now is to fall head over heels and quit my search. Or give up my criminal empire and go over to the good side.

Ew. That's not me.

I'm a supervillain, damn it. I won't fall victim to Jack's charms.

No, I won't.

Signed, I'm Yours is a standalone paranormal romcom with a grumpy supervillain, an always-happy good guy literally stuck together on a case, a fake instant engagement, a very convenient bi-awakening, and only one bed.

Part of the multi-author Subparheroes MM romance series.

This story pulled me in due to the supervillian...Seojun...absolutely loved him. All his snark and fabulousness made this a fun read. He met his match with the sweet ol teddy bear Jack. They definitely were opposites but hey opposites attract. You can say their romance was instant but their journey to ever after had some challenges...not too angsty...a lot of laughs and sweet heated moments between the two. So many unique powers... a couple of mysteries to solve and of course we have SPAM making an appearance. All in all a fun read...a wonderful edition to the series and I highly recommend if you like snarky supervillains and cute romances.

Signed, I'm Yours! is part of the Subparheroes series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the rest of the series. This is Seojun a supervillain and Jack a SPAM agents story. This book was just to cute for words. I loved all the banter and fun these two brought. I loved all the side characters also. I would love to see more stories in this universe by Rhys Lawless. I would definitely recommend this book and series as 5 star reads.

It was cute, better than I expected if a but confusing at times. First one we get with a morally gray hero (villain?), and it made it all the more fun for it

This was a fun, entertaining, OTT, funny, endearing romantic comedy that had me cracking up throughout most of the book. Seojun, Jack, and the friends-family surrounding them take us on a thrilling ride. You never know what's gonna happen next! The way these two come together is crazy, the way they stay together is even crazier. Such an endearing, heart-warming look at blurred lines of good and bad, hero & villain, and those who love them through all of it.

Signed, I’m Yours! by Rhys Lawless is part of the Subparheroes series by various authors. It is a laugh out loud story of two men, one who thinks he is a super villain and the other who works for a law agency bringing villains in, who both have very unique powers that lead them to love. Seojun Bae, otherwise known as the Sinister Seomyeong, thinks he is a supervillain. His power is that when he signs his name, anything he says people believe and allow him to do whatever he wants. This has led him to get lots of money from billionaires and gives him a lavish lifestyle. He is looking for his mother and brother who vanished 4 years ago and he thinks that SPAM (Special Processing and Management) who monitors and manages people with super powers has taken them and hidden them away. This leads him to the SPAM offices where he wants to check their data base to see if he can find them. He “signs” his way in and finds himself in a small basement office with a computer that was left on. It belongs to Jack Lewis, a CREEP (Criminal Rites and Evil Egregious Perpetration) agent. Jack is always happy so he is able to work the brutal and bloody cases committed by the super powered without getting too grossed out and he is currently working on finding The Pulverizer who leaves a person dead and blown up. Unfortunately, he and his partner Bob have not been able to find any clues at the crime scene. When Jack questions Seojun about why he is in his office he gets lots of conflicting answers that he finds funny and cute, especially when Seojun keeps changing his answers and when he signs a paper it doesn’t do anything to him. Finally Seojun signs his name with a sharpie marker on Jack’s arm in an attempt to get him believe what he says and this leads to unanticipated consequences. They find that they are unable to be more than 6 feet apart or they feel horrible pain so they have to stay together. During this time they go to each other’s apartments, meet Jack’s friends who all have interesting superpowers, and lead to Seojun blurting out answers to questions telling everyone he and Jack are engaged and going to have an engagement party and they are shocked and wondering how all of this came about. In the meantime, Jack has figured out that Seojun isn’t the terrible villain he believes himself to be and Seojun gets mad every time Jack calls him out. Then Seojun has auditions for a sidekick (because, of course, every supervillain has a sidekick) and the people who show up have very “unique” powers. Luckily one of them, Paper Trail, suits him to a T because he can bury anything in paperwork that can’t be unraveled so he is hired. At their engagement party his friends and a bunch of villains who don’t like Seojun show up and this leads them on a chase that solves the mystery of the Pulverizer. It also leads to some hot love scenes between Seojun and Jack and they both realize they are falling in love. Seojun finally finds his mother and brother and that leads to some nasty revelations but brings closure. I really enjoyed this story. There is so much snark and trying to weasel a way out of lies that I was often laughing out loud. Seojun really thinks he is a bad guy but eventually sees that even though he takes from the rich he gives back to those that were hurt. Jack is always so happy and sees the good side of everything, especially Seojun, and discovers that even though he was hurt in the past Seojun is the real thing and the one for him. Their friends all have interesting super powers (again they had me laughing out loud, especially Brandon) and become the family that Seojun never really had and help them out when they need it. All the other villains and wannabe sidekicks are crazy and their antics are hilarious. And you can't forget Jack's cute little pet Shuga. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are looking for a light read that is very funny and includes supervillains that really aren’t, happy good guys, several mysteries to be solved, and two opposites who fall in love.

the story and characters were a total joy that it was an absolute pleasure reading this

Rating: 4.5🌈

Well, this was simply adorable. I absolutely adored Signed, I’m Yours! (Subpar Superhero story) By Rhys Lawless. One of the most enjoyable in this series.

The journey of Seojun, Mr Sinister, a not so very super villain, who wants to find the family he left behind in South Korea turns into a funny, heartfelt story about a man who instead finds love, respect, and a new found family when he never expected it.

Seojun, fabulous in Pink, meet the SPAM agent Jack “Happy” Lewis, signs Jack up for some internal secret investigation, that goes immediately rightfully wrong.

This wonderful story is so well written. The beautifully crafted characters have so much heart, including the many fabulous side characters, that it’s hard not to wish for more from this universe and gang of heroes.

Even the main villain of this piece is a man isn’t what you expect. Instead he’s poignant, the crimes also contain an unexpected twist.

Honestly, the story and characters were a total joy that it was an absolute pleasure reading this.

A winner for the series and as a whole for the author to the readers.

Signed, I’m Yours! by Rhys Lawless, part of the Subparheroes series, is a comedic and heartwarming tale of love and adventure set in a world where superpowers and quirky characters abound.

The story centers on Seojun Bae, aka the Sinister Seomyeong, who believes he’s a supervillain due to his unique ability: when he signs his name, people believe whatever he says. His primary goal is to find his missing mother and brother, whom he suspects were taken by the Special Processing and Management (SPAM) agency. During his attempt to infiltrate SPAM, Seojun encounters Jack Lewis, a cheerful agent with the Criminal Rites and Evil Egregious Perpetration (CREEP) division, who is investigating the brutal Pulverizer.

Their initial clash takes a bizarre turn when Seojun’s signing causes an unintended magical bond that forces them to stay within six feet of each other. This predicament leads to a series of comedic and romantic misadventures as they navigate their new, involuntary closeness. Jack’s optimistic and endearing nature helps him see past Seojun’s villainous façade, revealing Seojun’s true, more complex character. With a cast of eccentric characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and a blend of romance and mystery, Signed, I’m Yours! is a delightful read for those who enjoy light-hearted superhero tales with a touch of romance and plenty of humor.

Signed, I’m Yours is Rhys Lawless submission to the Subparheroes series . The author introduces CREEP (Criminal Rites and Evil Egregious Perpetration), an adjacent agency to SPAM. Jack Lewis' super power is positivity. A serial killer case doesn't phase him. But the cute super villain he catches breaking into his office just might. The Sinister Seomyeong, Seojun Bae's superpower is writing his name and having a person read it, gets him whatever he wants. When his power doesn't work on Jack, he writes on Jack's arm. This forms a psychic tether that doesn't let them be further than six feet apart.
Seojun is absolutely inept. Jack takes making rainbows from lemons to a ridiculous height. The book is hilarious. One of the bond's limits is that Jack can't tell anyone that he's under Seojun's control. It also seems to loosen their tongues. In a bad case of one upmanship, they go from pretend boyfriends to fiancés planning an engagement party. In under five minutes.
Subpar has been a great, fun series. And Lawless' book is the diamond on the crown. It's a wonderful world. With the sweetest characters. Jack's collected friend group is hilarious. And Jack and Seojun work well as a team and are smexy as heck.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

Signed, I'm Yours! is a mostly lighthearted take on super-powered mysteries. I say mostly because Jack is an investigator of gruesome crimes that are perpetrated by powered people. The few scenes surrounding his job and the Pulverizor felt out of place with how gross they were. Otherwise, Seojun is a silly person who claims to be a supervillain but is mostly trying to solve the disappearance of his only family members when he was younger. When Jack meets Mr. Sinister, he's torn for the first time between his duty to his job and getting to know the fascinating man in a fur coat who is awfully bad at lying.

The two points of view really help bring to life Jack and Seojun. It keeps Mr. Sinister from being a caricature. He's a person who's hurting. A person whose power is so strong they haven't totally gotten the hang of being a functioning person because he can just cheat. Jack is always looking on the bright side but that clearly has some down sides, as well. The side characters were cute and brought more depth to the world. Especially loved poor Kevin.

I really enjoyed this book. Seojun has been looking for his mother and brother for the past 4 years. He really believes that SPAM is the organization that has them. When he meets an agent, he signs a paper that makes the other agent think he is an inspector. After entering the building, he ends up at an unmanned computer. When Jack walks in and asks him what he was doing, Seojun kept giving different answers. When Jack gets signed on his arm with a sharpie, things changed. This is the start of the story with how they both worked together to find his family. Loved the interaction, chemistry and great world building. It would be awesome if there was a follow up to this story.

Seojun is a super villain with powers or at least he claims to be. Jack works for a secret organization known as SPAM for people with special powers. Seojun thinks the company is out to hurt his kind. With his type of power he can control people by signing his name & convincing them to do his bidding for a limited time. He convinces someone to take him to this organization because he thinks they took his family. Jack finds him & Sepjun signs his arm & it has a different then usual reaction then normal. They fall head over heels for each other while Jack decides to help him find his family. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review

Okay, Jack and Seojun were both slightly ridiculous—but I kind of loved them for it. Seojun swearing up and down that he was a big, bad supervillain when, in reality, he really wasn’t was just straight up hilarious. And Jack—oh, sweet Jack—he was adorable. Him literally always smiling in pretty much every single chapter and slowly driving Seojun crazy was definitely my favorite part of this book.
I really hated how so many people took advantage of his sheer kindness, but I'm super glad that Seojun kind of forced his way into Jack’s life—especially because they were definitely really cute together

Fantastic!

Fantastic story! I loved Seojun's subpar power. It's very unique and leads to some interesting situations. Jack's subpar power is that he always looks on the bright side of things. Which is perfect for his job as an investigator (CREEP, haha!) but not so much for his past relationships. When Seojun's power binds him to Jack, we discover how vulnerable Seojun really is. I loved his determination that he is a supervillain. This was a fun, fast paced story filled with humor, sass, and plenty of sexy times.

Best one of the series!

This is a cute and irreverent novella that’s superpower is to make you smile. Jack was such a wonderful teddy bear of a character, and our supervillain was a delightful breath of fresh air. I would totally be up for a sequel of them taking on The Musk. I’m just saying…. The following was my favorite quote from the book:

“Zeke is a teacher.”

“That’s not a superpower.”

“Then you clearly haven’t met teachers.”

This delightful book is a great addition to the Subparheroes series, about villains who really aren’t. Jack and Seojun are wonderful characters and made a great match. Their enemies to lovers story was full of quirky characters that made the story fun and intriguing as well as being irreverent and humorous. I loved every page and highly recommend it as a great read.

WOW.
I had the best time with these two (let’s just say it) nutjobs of characters. Seojung is convinced he is a supervillain (spoiler: he’s SO not) and accidentally binds himself to SPAM agent Jack “Happy” Lewis, whose superpower is always smiling and finding the best in every situation. Shenanigans ensue, both in and outside the bedroom and somehow a fake engagement is announced…
This book is crazy, irreverent, over the top and SO MUCH FUN to read!

This book was so good and so funny. Seojun tried so hard to be a villian. So hard. I loved Jack's power. And I loved Brandon's too. It was a needed balance for Jack. Anyway, Jack was exactly what Seojun needed. He was able to lift him up and help him in ways no one else could.

Their relationship moved really fast but it really worked for them. I loved it all. I loved all the epilogues. Read the post epilogue-epilogue. It's needed.

Great read by Rhys yet again!

Seojun &Jack

This was fun! Seojun was a character, determined to be the best supervillain, he sign his way through life gaining what he desires. When he’s convinced that SPAM disappeared his family, he goes all supervillainy on them and comes out of it with Jack as a fake fiancé. Jack, happy as could be, goes along with the ruse which is good since they can’t be apart. The side characters are great, the banter, hilarious. These two balance each other out in every way.

Rhys Lawless has been a favorite author of mine for quite some time, and this book is the reason why. The characters were perfect, the action was great and the storyline was amazing. SPAM has never been so much fun and CREEP was a new addition to the series that I loved! Highly Recommended

What a fun read in the subpar heroes universe! Seojun is a 'supervillan', well, at least in his own head that counts, right? Sure, he does bad things but only to those who deserve and can afford it. When he steals Jack a member of SPAM & CREEP, he starts to see the truth. Then maybe he does deserve loyal people on his side. These two are honestly just plain fun, and their friends are all fantastic. They have a banter that I wish more authors could pull off where it just works for them, and they make each other better in the long run. A great addition to this series.

Seojun & Jack

Seojun tries to be a supervillain but is kind of sweet. He meets Jack aka Happy who works for SPAM when he infiltrates the building Jack works in to try to find his family. They eventually find Seojun’s mum and brother but it’s not a happy reunion. Seojun and Jack find that their friends are their family.

I loved the book, reading how Seojun and Jack fall in love is sweet.
