IMAGINE, 2 sets of twins… so 4 MEN who are obsessed with you and 1/2 wants to punish you for something they THINK you did and the other half wants to just have you in any way they can…LAWDDD, I was in for the ride of my life lmao🤣

Cooper & Colter are fvcking SCARY, and they’ll stop at nothing to avenge their sister. They’re convinced that Eva has something to do with her death and the sh!t they torment this girl with?! She had so many breakdowns in this and I felt for her but I was along for the ride😭

Liam and Mason see a spark in Eva as she starts to unravel, and the way they’re drawn together is FIRE! The care, love, and don’t get me started on the D9 culture because I was OBSESSED. If some man came up to me with a cane doing the iconic shoulder shimmy?! A puddle would appear below me💀🤣

The ending left me wanting more and I LITERALLY can’t wait😍

side note: the PATOIS?! My little ole island represented in a book?! SOBBING🥹🇯🇲

This was actually insane. Like INSANE.

DISTORTED OBSESSION ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Would recommend 👍🏻

First, I’d like to start off by saying that if I had gone into this book with the mindset that it was more of a spicy horror, I’d have rated her a little higher. Once I shifted my mindset to that idea halfway through, I flew through it. To me, it was literally like reading a spicy horror movie/slasher film.

What I loved:
▪️The uniqueness - This book is unlike any dark romances that I’ve ever read. It’s DARK, y’all, and just when you think you’ve reached the peak of darkness, it gets darker. You think you have an idea of how things are going to go, and then you get slapped in the face. And if you’re a good little “pain slut” like Eva, well, you take it, enjoy it, and go back for more. 🙂‍↕️
▪️The MULTI multi POV - I freaking love getting into each character’s head. And with this one? You get into the heads of even the less prominent characters. SPOILER: Getting to be the characters that are murdered was the coolest part. And that’s honestly what made me feel like I was watching a slasher film.
▪️ The mystery. I went in genuinely thinking this was going to be like any other dark bulky college romance, and I was so incredibly wrong. Trying to figure out who’s behind everything was such a fun ride, even though I’ve finished the book, and I’M STILL ON THAT DAMN RIDE, P.H. NIX
▪️ MM scenes. I just loooooove when boys like boys 🥰🥰🥰 Eva likes it too. 🤭
▪️ Mental health struggles properly represented. Anyone who has experienced self harm, self loathing, and depression could relate to our sweet Eva. She got way worse than she ever deserved. I’m looking forward to her self-discovery arc, one where she doesn’t need men to help her through it.

What I didn’t love:
▪️ Continuity. It was a little jumpy. I think some of it was because of just how many POVs we had, but I felt like some of the timeline ended up choppy, which often left me a little confused. It was like “oh look, now Liam is here, we love him. Wait, when did they get back from this place? Actually, where did everyone else go??” (And to that point, Liam, we really do love your adorable simp self 🫶🏻)
▪️ Sometimes it felt like we were trying to include too much into it. Love the cultural inclusivity along with the LGBTQ+ representation, but it felt forced sometimes.
▪️ On that same note, sometimes the bully aspect felt unnatural or forced too. Like the guys obviously actually DO all care about Eva. “But it doesn’t matter, she has to pay for what her family did.” But why though??

Overall, I enjoyed the hell out of this. The disclaimer that this was nothing like the Edgewood Academy Elites series was spot on, and I was thankful for that. Not because that series wasn’t good, but because it would have been so easy to follow that same route of storytelling. I did love seeing some of the characters popping in from the past though. 🥰

The CLIFFHANGER???? FREAKING BRUTAL. How DARE you, P.H. Nix!! Thank you. But HOW DARE YOU!

I will be reading the next one. Release her asap please. I mean, no pressure, but like, THIS IS GOING TO BE TORTURE.

I have legit no words. This book was exhilarating but also horrifying at the same time. It took dubcon to the point it may even be noncon and I’m very concerned for my mental health and everyone in that book. But don’t worry guys I’m fine but that may be some of the craziest shit I’ve ever read. Firstly this blurb is very discrete so basically the girl goes to a new school, and is targeted by two twin brothers who blame her for their sisters death, and also 2 more twin brothers who blame her family for their family’s downfall and they all want revenge. However this girl is depressed, maybe even schizophrenic, and self harms. So I’m gonna stress this again, this book is pretty much pitch black, please please please check triggers. The first half of the book is a little confusing. You keep switching PoVs but you don’t know all the characters too well yet so I was so confused, but it made sense once I got the hang of it, I’m too used to reading romance with only 2 POVs, sometimes just one. I liked it, it sets up the rest of the book, there’s a bit of smut, lots of evil plotting and lots of angst. Basically both pairs of twins want to mentally trap her and break her. And my gosh, the lengths they go to, especially Colton and Cooper, are so insane it’s honestly terrifying. This plot seems a little simple at the start but as you get deeper it’s so rich with so many layers. There were so many plot twists I was shocked by and you’ll realise that there’s a lot more to the story. Here’s my one little bit of confusion, Colton and Cooper want to break Eva for causing the suicide of their sister Farrah, but a lot of the reasons for why they think it’s Farrah is cut out and they mostly just talk about her brother, so their hate just seems not just irrational but very stupid. Like it makes them kind of look like idiots. They are insane though, that contract they make her sign… let’s just say it’s very demanding. But that last page, what should be a big reveal, came out of absolutely nowhere, ok like did he switch personalities in under 2 seconds? Anyways this was quite an interesting book and I give it a 3.5/5

What. A. Ride! The way I needed book two yesterday!! That cliffhanger had me shrieking and throwing my Kindle! But it's so worth the read, and I'll be desperately waiting for the next book!

So, for starters, check all those triggers because it is a heavy read. Dark, college, bully, with two sets of twin MMCs (I know, we're spoiled), and our beloved Eva Rose goes through all the things. The way that girl rises up again and again and again is just pure testament on how strong you can be.

The men in this book are after revenge, punishment, and retribution, and I can't wait for them to find out what they're actually after when everything comes to fruition.

There is a lot going on in this book, with many characters and points of view, but I really like how it meshed and you were able to get that depth into what they were feeling. The spice was fire and I'm honestly chomping at the bit to see what's going to go down in the next book, and it can't come soon enough!

Distorted Obsession by P.H. Nix

My heart is unwell, I fear I am obsessed with this book and I should run the other way but like Eva, red is obviously green for me 😏

I went into this book completely blind and *insert my infamous cat crying emoji here* I am UNWELL. I don’t remember the last time I was so invested in a book I finished in less than 48 hours. Distorted Obsession had everything, from mental health rep to bully romance and why choose 😩

This book took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, I actually cried cried. Not like a little tear, I mean like I balled my eyes out while my heart quite literally hurt 😭 I give infinity stars, 5 isn’t enough. PH Nix, you got me so messed up, respectfully 🙂‍↔️ thank you for writing this book, I really needed an FMC I can relate to mental health wise 🖤

Not me going “where’s the next page” because I know it’s not over and I’m already at the acknowledgments 😩 cannot wait for the next book!

my favorite MMC in order:

1. Liam
2. Coop
3. Colter & Mason (tied)

Something crazy is happening at groveton College and it all revolves around Eva rose Pierce. She's attending to attone for what she believes is her fault. Her best friend is gone and she blames herself for not being there. So do her friends twin brothers. They've made it their mission to destroy her for what she took from them. Then there's the Bradley twins, also bent on revenge for their family. They team up with the Jacobi boys and together they start to make Eva fall into their trap. The cliffhanger on this book is a doozie. This book is dark and twisted and the connection I feel to these characters is overwhelming. I feel their pain and frustration and can't help but fall in love with all of them. I'm trying to figure out who this mystery person could be and can't wait for book 2!

Eva Rose Pierce...what a beautiful broken soul she has. I absolutely love her and just want to wrap her up in a hug.

I can't wait to get more of these guys and Eva.

That cliffhanger.... I got literal chills & was left with my jaw dropped. 🖤💚🖤💚

P.H. Nix, you absolutely knocked this one out of the park. I can't wait for book 2!

Come for the sports... stay for the emotional damage, trauma, and shirtless psychopaths.

Okay, so I sat down with my Kindle, thinking, Oh cute, twins and a college romance? Maybe some football? Maybe a jersey number or two gets involved?

HAHA. Silly me.

By 10%, I was sweating.
By 50%, I was questioning my morals.
By 90%, I was frantically checking how many pages were left like I was on a deadline from Satan himself.
By the end? I was one emotionally wrecked feral gremlin screaming into the void, “WHERE IS BOOK TWO?!”

Let’s talk about this plot: We’ve got revenge, obsession, trauma, secrets, betrayal, mind games, and a whole Olympic team of hot, emotionally unavailable men that should probably be in therapy but instead, they’re in Eva’s orbit being unhinged in ways that deserve their own DSM-5 chapter. And let’s not even talk about the spice level, because ma’am. MA’AM THE ORGASM DENIAL AND THEN BAM!!!. 🔥 Someone check my Kindle for smoke damage.

Eva, our FMC? She’s been THROUGH it. She’s grieving, guilt-ridden, and yet still manages to dish it back to a whole pack of morally gray chaos goblins. Honestly, if I were her, I’d have just yeeted myself off Groveton’s nearest ledge in chapter 3. But not Eva. Nooo. She’s here for vengeance and growth and breaking and healing and maybe also getting tangled up with multiple dangerous men with smirks sharp enough to slice glass.

And these men? There are so many. Some are twins. Some are psycho. Some are both. And look, I am NOT saying I’d risk it all for these fictional red flags... but I’d consider it.

Also, if you came for a nice lil’ sports romance, you are in the wrong locker room, sweetie. This is varsity-level DARK. Like, check those trigger warnings and maybe have a therapy appointment lined up dark. But the mental health representation? Shockingly good. It’s real, raw, and not just trauma for shock value. P.H. Nix handled that part with care right before drop-kicking my heart off a cliff with THAT CLIFFHANGER.

Enemies to lovers? Nah, try: enemies to feral obsession with a side of possessive threats and broken furniture.

What we got:
📚 College setting
⚽ Sports? Technically yes.
💥 Bully romance dialed to 100
🔥 Spice levels: HELLFIRE WITH NO CHILL
🖤 Dark themes, serial unaliver energy, and enough emotional damage to last you through tax season
🤯 Plot twists that made me physically gasp
📴 Cliffhanger that made me consider throwing my Kindle into the void

I am now emotionally attached to this series, to Groveton College, and possibly to several men who are walking restraining orders. 10/10, would spiral again. Somebody get P.H. Nix on the phone I have questions, ma’am.

The book I forgot to read! I had to hunt this one down in my Kindle but it was so worth it!
I have read some really dark, really hateful books full of bullying and psychological manipulation but this one takes the cake.
Eva is a troubled, freshman in college in Texas. Her best friend apparently committed suicide 3 years ago and Eva blames herself. Her panic attacks are vicious, some times to the point of blacking out. This poor kid doesn't believe she should be alive and really doesn't want to live but she's living for her friend, Farrah. Her struggles and how she copes with them will absolutely break your heart. Please, please read the content warnings.
Farrah's twin brothers Colter and Cooper blame Eva and her brother for Farrah's death. And to get to Callum (Eva's brother) they are more than happy to go through Eva. These vicious, twisted "men" start a campaign of bullying and manipulation that is so horrible that I can't even give it a proper adjective.
Add in another set of twins, Liam and Mason who don't know Eva but have a grudge against Eva's father for "ruining" their father's business. These two decide to take their revenge out on Eva as well. and when they combine forces with Colter and Cooper, Eva's life becomes a train wreck.
This is entire book is a train wreck.....you know the kind you can't take your eyes off of?? Yeah, it's this book.
Fair warning....this book ends on a cliffhanger and it's doozy....I almost threw my Kindle.
I want so much for Eva....I want her happy; to get her own revenge; to learn to love herself again and to be surrounded by people who only love her and build her up. So I'm going to keep reading this trilogy with the very high hopes that she gets all she deserves.
P.H. Nix, you wrote and mind (you know what) and I could NOT put it down. Thank you for the ARC and for making me doubt my sanity! Thanks also, to The Author Agency for the ARC and for patiently waiting for me. I'll do better with the timing of the next one!

I love myself a good dark romance and I was completely and utterly obsessed with the 1st instalment of the Distorted Obsession trilogy, it was so freaking good!!!

We don’t just get 1 set of unhinged twin brothers in this one, we get 2.

The Jacobi twins, Cooper and Colter have just lost their younger sister, they believe the person to blame for that is her best friend Eva and they are dead set on getting their revenge.

But they’re not the only ones!

The Bradley twins, Mason and Liam discovered it was Eva’s dad’s company that ruined their families business and want to make them pay by using Eva in the worst possible way.

Both sets of twins join forces, doing some very dark and twisted things to Eva in order to torment her in the hope that she will break. They are angry, so very over the top, completely obsessed and are so determined in destroying her, it’s all they seem to be able to think about. But they don’t expect her to be so resilient and the undeniable chemistry between them all soon starts to have an effect on the revenge they seek.

The spice level we get in this is absolute perfection that’s for sure!

Eva has definitely gone through a lot, she’s grieving her friend, is full of guilt and believing she is to blame for her death, but is determined to live the life her friend never got to live, even if it breaks her.
The anxiety and depression Eva suffers throughout this story was covered in such a brilliant way that made it feel so raw, real and very relatable and it will have you completely hooked.

P.H. Nix does an excellent job at knowing exactly how to pull you in with this story, especially with all the unexpected twists that are thrown in along the way and that cliffhanger………WHAT?!!

I am in definite need of the next one of this trilogy very soon, as there are far too many questions I need answers to!

When I say I want dark romance, THIS is what I mean. When I say enemies to lovers, THIS is the energy I crave.

Distorted Obsession was unlike any dark romance I’ve read before—it was twisted, intense, and the perfect kind of spicy. I was hooked from the first page and completely absorbed in the gritty tension and emotional pull throughout.

One of my favorite elements was the multi-POV format. I almost always love a multi-POV, but this book took it that a step further by even including
background characters’” perspectives. It added depth and complexity to the world, which I appreciated. That said, with so many different characters, roommates, teammates, etc, it sometimes got a bit confusing to keep track of who was who. The inclusivity in the cast of characters was refreshing and important, though at times it felt a little forced. I loved the idea of a glossary, but with so much to remember, I occasionally found myself losing track of cultural references because I didn’t want to keep flipping back.

Genre wise, this felt a bit like a dark romance meets psychological thriller, and I loved that combination. I’d been nervous going in that bully college romance would lean too YA for my taste but this one definitely didn’t. It said dark bully collage romance, and it was’t wrong, nothing light and YA here.

What really stood out, beyond the spice and mystery, was how beautifully the book handled heavy themes like mental health, self-harm, and grief. These topics were represented with care and authenticity, which added another layer of impact to the story.

This was my first novel by P.H. Nix, and she has set the bar incredibly high for the next installment of the Groveton College Series as a whole. I cannot wait for the next book!

Thank you to P.H Nix and her team for providing this book for advanced review 🖤 All opinions are my own.

🖤 Distorted Obsession by P.H. Nix 🖤
ARC thanks to @theauthoragencypr + @phnixauthor

Okay… WHAT did I just read?! This book chewed me up, spit me out, and left me questioning my own sanity and I loved every twisted second of it.

Eva’s world is already falling apart when she lands at Groveton College, but things only get darker when two sets of twin brothers set their sights on her, blaming her and her family for tragedies that destroyed their lives. What starts as bullying quickly spirals into obsession, vengeance, and an unholy tangle of enemies-to-lovers intensity that is as addictive as it is horrifying.

This bully romance is pitch black, polyamorous, and dripping with chaos, mind games, and pain. The obsession is feral, the contract scenes had me gasping, and the psychological warfare?? Next. Level.

✨ Tropes & Triggers:
⚠️ Dark bully romance (check TWs!!!)
🖤 Why Choose / polyamorous
🔥 Enemies to lovers
🩸 Dubcon / power play
🖤 Obsession, vengeance, & trauma
🔥 Dark college setting

I binged this in under 48 hours because I literally could not stop turning the pages. The multiple POVs threw me at first, but once I got the hang of it I was HOOKED. I laughed, I cried (ugly cried), I panicked, and I may or may not have fallen in love with some of the most dangerous men I’ve ever read. 🥵

Favorite MMC ranking (don’t fight me on this 😏):
1️⃣ Liam
2️⃣ Coop
3️⃣ Colter + Mason (tie)

If you like your romances twisted, messy, and utterly addictive then welcome to Groveton. But seriously: CHECK the triggers. This one is pitch black.

I've been so excited to read this and I'm so happy to be a part of this ARC because wow. This was absolutely amazing. I loved that it brought to light mental health issues that a lot of people including myself deal with. Not everyone deals with it in a healthy manner, some wear masks and you don't see the pain they are in until it's too late. But don't ever take your anger or guilt out on someone that was battling their own demons, especially without finding the truth. I feel for Eva. I felt her pain and know her pain, losing your best friend can put you in a truly dark space. Not always making the smartest decisions but just ones that feel good for the moment, to help take the pain away even if for just a little while. I love a good Why Choose story, especially one this hot. I know Liam, Mason, Colter, and Cooper want revenge but they love her and you see that even before they admit it. They shouldn't want to take it out on her because it's not her fault but they see her as an easy target. They mess up though and hopefully don't lose her because eventually a plan like that, karma will work its magic. 🤞🏼 fingers crossed. This book will make you feel all types of feelings from anger towards the bullies who have no reason to hate her, to heat going straight to your core, to crying and wanting to throw the book/Kindle at the end. Because that cliffhanger was mean. I can't wait to read what happens in the next book I truly hope it comes out soon!! PH Nix you did an absolutely amazing job putting your all into this book. This is a must-read!!

I have so many questions!!! I genuinely thought I had worked this out until that second last revenge scene. That was brutal to read and it doesn’t let up for those last few chapters. This isn’t a tame bully romance and is a pretty full-on game of psychological warfare. There are moments where your heart will break for Eva Rose as she hits rock bottom only to realise it can get worse. I cannot wait to see her come back swinging.

There are a lot of toxic characters in this one. The mean girls are all vile but we don’t need to worry about them as the boys are so much worse. Liam is maybe the best of a bad bunch but I hate how they are all targeting Eva Rose for something she hasn’t done (even if she does have misplaced guilt, they are aiming at her as a way to get back at her dad and brother which just gives me the rage). None of them deserve her and the grovel better be good! I love Jade though (Nix writes amazing ride or die characters) and the volleyball girls have a great dynamic to even things out. It was a highlight seeing my favourites from Edgewood too although I’d love Ariah to make an appearance and put these twins in their place. Her and Jade would be a force to be reckoned with and Eva could use them in her corner after that explosive finale!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Holy shirtballs! This was a wild, wild ride. Eva's grief is devastating. Colt and Cooper are such villains from the get go. Dead set on revenge for their sister's death (tw: self unaliving/SH). They are out to destroy Eva but damn she is resilient yet oh so broken. The mental health representation was next level and relatable. I feel it was a pretty truthful representation of grief, anxiety and depression.

The ultimate destruction of Eva is all they think about until a side of them comes out that they didnt expect. Mason and Liam seem to be so sweet but they are also looking for revenge. All the MMCs are ott possessive, angry, and obsessed. Add in a murder and this is a twisty, emotional read... grab some kleenex in case.

The absolute toxicity of the relationships will hit you in the face. And when I say it was a rollercoaster of a ride, I mean ALL THE FEELS. The MMCs are very dark gray morally. I love the fact that the characters are multiracial/Multicultural. The glossary of the phrases used was sooo appreciated.

And it ends on a major cliffhanger so you've been warned. The spice was a 10 out of 5!! I mean with 4 OTT Morally Gray MMCs, how could it not be.

This is one for my why choose book besties who are looking for equal parts spice/plot. I promise you will not be disappointed!

OMG! THIS BOOK!

Destroyed in the best way possible. If you love dark romance, why choose, and obsessed MMC’s, I promise you will love this book!

Eva is an incredible FMC, and my heart is broken for her but also in complete awe of the strength of her character, despite all the things she is going through, i just want to hug her and keep her safe 😆.

The guys? Where to start with the guys?

The Jacobi brothers motivation is powerful, and I love that family is their main priority, and how stubborn they are in their quest for justice, even if it’s leading them to make some pretty questionable decisions. The Bradley brothers have motivating factors, but I love the undeniable chemistry between Liam & Eva and Mason & Eva from the moment they met.

The plot was excellently executed, leaving my on the edge of my seat, while clinging to every detail to make sure I didn’t miss anything, because I was one hundred percent hooked from the minute I opened the book.

Now…THAT ENDING! NO BUT WHATTTTTT?! I have no words! I am not okay. I may have (gently) thrown my kindle down on the table. Then convinced myself it couldn’t have ended like that….so I had to go back and check again …… how am I supposed to breatheeee?!!! I absolutely need more, and I’m already questioning whether it’s too soon to read it again 😆

Distorted Obsession
By PH Nix

So… let Me begin by saying that this is a very, VERY dark novel. This is not for the faint of heart or the easily triggered; please read the trigger and content warnings carefully and take heed. Now that the disclosure is over… Be still my beating, black little heart, swoon! This started with pain and ends in gut wrenching agony! Hot, sexy, twisted Reverse Harem at its best! Def NOT safe for work!

Eva is a strong, smart, sexy and undeniably broken heroine. She’s living a life she doesn’t feel she deserves to be living, atoning for sins there can never be enough penance for. Bullied and emotionally bettered on all fronts. Even through all of her trauma, she’s a force to be reckoned with.

Copper and Colt are Eva’s best friend’s identical twin brothers. They are equal parts depraved, gorgeous, sexy and dangerous. They’ve been waiting for Eva for a long time, but what they say about the best laid plans is true.

Liam and Mason are fraternal twins that breathe, walk and talk sex appeal. They’ve got class, style, depth and the broadest moral compass this side of the Mississippi. Eva is an obsession they cannot afford to get lost in.

Revenge, possessiveness, spying, scheming, twists, power and domination all meet in the most Machiavellian of ways. Returning to life outside of the hospital, Eva struggles with the loss of her best friend, who was the sister of Colt and Coop. Colt and Coop were left a letter that contained more details about what happened, or so they thought. While she passed years before, Eva receives that letter at the start of the story, before she begins school. There are details within it that lead her to blame herself, as do Colt and Coop. They have a plan to right that wrong. While she is at school, she meets another set of twins, Liam and Mason, who end up at the school after their family’s luck takes a turn; as it turns out, Eva’s family’s business is the reason for that, and the twins are also after revenge. What happens if they join forces in their quest against Eva? There are 2 sets of twins who want to see her demise, but they can’t help acting on their attraction. I am unsure of who they are all up against, and it’ll be interesting to see that develop. This is the start of a new trilogy and ends on a major cliffhanger: I need book 2 ASAP. This book has many dark moments and does not skirt around the mental health issues faced by these characters, so please be sure to check the trigger warnings first.

My first from this author, and in the beginning, I felt like I had missed something like it started in the middle, but I soon got on with this and got the story...

This is a dark, bully (sometimes tormentor) why choose romance.

We have Eva beautiful defeated, broken Eva who takes on everyone's pains and doesn't believe she deserves any good. She wants to pay for the sins of all those around her.

Cooper and Colt, while looking for retribution for their sister , and Mason and Liam looking for some payback against Eva family. They take their pound of flesh and more, they shatter her existence, and they destroy this girl trying to heal. She is the prey, and they want to play with their food first. I got so mad at these assholes.

Truth be told, I think the lot of them are defeated, damaged, and broken souls seeking something.

All I know is book 2. I better have these men begging, groveling, and seeing redemption for being so blinded by hatred.

That cliff hanger @authorphnix... I just know you are going to shock us with book 2...

PLEASE CHECK TRIGGERS, There is a lot, so check them.

Now......when I say this book is dark it's DARK..... please check triggers because this has so many and it's not for the faint of heart.

This is a dark college bully romance and it's a heavy read!! We get not one....not two MMCs we get two sets of twins yes you read that right two sets of twins!!!! These men are after revenge, retribution and punishment!!! They blame Eva for what happened with her best friend and so do her friends twin brothers.......they have made it their mission to destroy her and find out what she knows.....not only does she have them she also has the Bradley Twins after her too they are also hell bent on revenge for their family!!! So these two sets of twins team up and start to make Eva fall into their trap.

This is twisted and will test your limits believe me!!! It's dark but the connection you feel towards the MCs is very overwhelming from the get go....you are sucked in and this won't let you go. OMG that cliffhanger too!!!!! Why!!!??? Urgh the pain and frustration I felt when I got to that ending lol I'm surprised I have a kindle left lol. I can't wait for book two now!!!!

I absolutely love everything about this book! The fact that it kept me on my toes throughout the whole book, not knowing what was going to happen.
Eva is going through something very traumatic to her in the book where she is figuring out how to go on with her life. Struggling with something like survivor's guilt with missing her Sister/best friend and
battling her own mental health itself, harming tendencies. She turns to the most unexpected people that she thought she would turn to help her cope with the loss.
I'm so invested in all 5 characters to see what will come of their story. i think personally both sets of twins thought they were doing and what they should to avenge their families and in the process, they fixed some of their broken parts of themselves.

If PH Nix writes it, I read it.

Distorted Obsession takes place at Groveton College like the bangers Deviant Devotion & Lessons from the Depraved and like its counterparts it was also a banger! But wait, there’s more - because this one ends on a cliffhanger that was MASSIVE.

Okay, the deets.

This story follows Eva Pierce, daughter from the a wrath Edgewood family (iykyk) and her freshman year at college. With a dark past, loss of a loved one and mental health struggles she’s working hard to live for her love. But she didn’t account for two sets of twins that want to enact revenge for crimes her family committed. They plan to bully her (without her knowing) to break her down to nothing… but, well… twists happen!

Oh, and if you’re an Edgewood Academy fan/stan - the Heirs make several appearances!!

This one is SPICY and Dark. Please be sure to check your triggers, because there is some VERY heavy content.

So, what are you waiting for? Go read it!! Then slide into my DMs so we can yap about it!!

ARC Review: Distorted Obsession by P.H. Nix

Loved this book! Let’s just get this part out of the way first though. Sometimes it felt like context was missing and characters just magically knew things. Plot points and connections popped up out of seemingly nowhere. BUT I also haven’t read the other connected series, so the missing context might be on me. My bad, fam. [Adds Edgewood Academy Elite to TBR.]

That being said, even when I was a little lost I was still having fun! This book felt like a trippy ghost mystery wrapped in a bully college romance, sprinkled with hallucinations and psychological mind games. I spent half the time trying to figure out if what was happening was even real. I was legit arguing with myself.

There’s a mystery character, spicy tension, some absolute chaos goblins running around, and merrrrrderrrrrrrr! I’m a sucker for a good hidden killer character death POV. It gave old school slasher movie vibes in the best way, like some Sleepaway Camp shit.

Eva’s mental health journey was messy and real and not sugarcoated, which I appreciated so much. And the twins? Their shenanigans were nonstop. I felt like I needed to snort pre-workout powder just to keep up with them.

That cliffhanger at the end? Screamed a little. But I forgive you. All the stars. Bring on the next round of chaos! [I pinky promise I’ll do my homework for the next one.]

"Sometimes, being in the darkness is as powerful as being in the light," P.H Nix

I'll start off by saying if you are expecting this series to be anything like Edgewood Academy Elites, this is your warning that no, this book is the total opposite,so don't go ignoring those warnings in the beginning the book.

Distorted Obsession !! What a fitting name for the first book in the Distorted Triology Series.

This book was hauntingly beautiful, the emotional turmoil that the characters go through, and the angst that builds with every chapter had me second-guessing every plot twist I thought I saw coming. The push and pull had me hooked. One minute, I liked a character, and then the next, I despised them.

I also found the multiple POV in this book engaging it helped me with the characters' developments.

And that cliffhanger ending literally had me swearing out loud.

I can't wait to read what happens in the next book.
