I originally read this as part of the “It Happened One Weekend” anthology, and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. I loved Willa and my heart absolutely broke for her. It was all to easy for me to empathize with her fear of what the spotlight around Jakes career would put her through. But at the same time, it made me swoon with envy to see the way Jake adored her. He didn’t always get it right the first time, but the lengths he was willing to go to in order to secure his Happily Ever After were inspiring. I can’t wait to discover what’s coming next for this series.

On the night before the biggest game of his career, he expected to nurse a beer and spend the night alone but when shy wallflower Willa takes a seat next to him, the instant connection he feels is too strong to deny.
Willa writes spicy romance but has never experienced it in real life, as an introvert her shy demeanor is almost always overlooked and although used to it, it doesn't hurt any less each time it happens. So when Jake turns on the charm, she finds it hard to believe she's the one he is interested in. But one night with Jake is just tempting enough to override her self protection instincts.
But one explosive night isn't enough for either of these two and the push and pull of the emotional tug-a-war they go through will pull you in and have you invested in their HEA faster than you can say world champ!
I loved the easy progression of their love story, even Willa's very realistic doubts and fears of a long term relationship with someone of Jake's celebrity status was totally believable and easy to relate to. But I also loved Jakes steadfast trust in his own feelings and how he gently but oh so firmly pursued Willa. He was the ultimate alpha hero, confident in himself and ready to battle anyone or anything standing in the way of his woman. *swoon*
I was left wanting more but the ending was worth it and I walked away with all the warm fuzzy feels. Definitely recommend if you like shy/introvert heroines and bossy, confident heroes.

I loved this story! I admit to crying when reading parts of it. Highly recommend! Must read.

This is the story of Willa and Jake. Willa is a romance author and is also a sub at the Club Eros. She feels like she is often overlooked at the club. Her self-esteem seems to be very low. Jake is a catcher for an MLB team and knows immediately that when Willa sits down next to him, that she is his! They agree to a one-night stand and it turns out to the best thing for them both. However, Willa knows that she is way below Jake’s level and leaves before he wakes up that next morning. All day, they both cannot stop thinking about the other and end up back at the same bar they met at the night before. Again, they have a wonderful night. And again, Willa decides that she is not enough for Jake and tells him it would never work.
Both returning to their lives, they are both miserable – Willa knows she made a mistake when she goes to Club Eros and proceeds to turn down 3 doms. Will Willa be able to get in contact with Jake again? Or has she missed the chance to be truly happy?

Willa is a romance writer and shes is at a conference when she decides to head to the bar for a drink. While sitting at the bar the shy wallflower that she is she notices the man sitting next to her. With tattoos and muscles hes the type of guy she would write about. Jake has had a rough night His baseball team is in the playoffs so after the game he decides to go to the bar and sit. When he turns he sees Willa and just is infatuated with her. Willa knows Jake can have any woman he wants but for one night she wants to be his even if thats not some she does. When Jake wakes Willa is gone. He plays the game and finds Willa again. Hes not giving up on her and will make her his. These two are so sweet together. I love that Jake brings her out of her shy wallflower ways when they are together. Great read by Anya.

A really wonderful steamy romance. What's not to love about a handsome man falling completely and having to work to get his woman. I thoroughly enjoy this author's writing style with likeable characters and page turning stories.

Even though this book is within Anya Summers' "Dungeon Singles Night" series, it doesn't take place within the dungeon but does reference it often as Willa, our heroine, is one of their members. She's an erotica-romance author and quite successful at it. Her every fantasy is played out within her stories since, in actuality, she has a quiet, shy personality when out of her comfort zone. Jake is our bad-boy lady's man with no strings attached. Not only that but he's the catcher for a major league baseball team that has found its way into the playoffs. When these two meet by chance at the hotel bar there's an instant chemistry that fires amongst them that cannot be contained but when morning arrives, so does reality. This was such a relatable storyline with all the emotions being laid bare. Absolutely wonderful.

In this book we meet Willa & Jake. Jake has just lost a big game and isn't looking for just anyone to be by his side tonight. It's a very hot short story featuring Willa, bestselling author of erotic romances and Eros Pit sub, and Jake, a pro athlete, who's known to play off the field as well. Yet all it takes is a hot weekend with Willa and he's playing for keeps! Lovely, sentimental, with an underlying message of body positivity and seriously sexy, this is a great read with a very sweet HEA.

Playing To Win
This story had all the emotion, passion & burning heat that you expect from the full length dungeon books, but it was packed into a short, yet supremely satisfying, novella. Jake & Willa are some of the most likable characters I’ve seen in the series, and I definitely would’ve been happy with even more from them. There was a healthy dose of insta-love/lust during the story, but I loved how it was handled. It added an extra level of sweetness & emotions that worked in the short time frame. I can never get enough from this series 🙌🏻🔥❤️

Jake, a professional baseball player, is having a drink in the hotel bar when in walks the most beautiful, curvy woman he has ever seen. Willa is a romance author at a convention in Houston and can't believe this hot man is hitting on her. They spend a steamy weekend, but when Jake wants forever with Willa, she is gone. I loved the characters, the story's pace, sizzle, steam, Jake's determination to win the girl and finally Willa seeing her worth. This is another solid 5-star read by one of my favorite BDSM authors Anya Summers.

I have really enjoyed this novella, the chemistry and connection between Willa and Jake was written well and I bought into them as meant to be 100%. I liked seeing how strong their feelings were, that they never dimmed during the tough times and that Jake never shied away, he went after what he wanted. I would have liked to have seen more of them together as I liked them together so much and I wanted it to continue as the love and romance in this was lovely to read.

I love this series! Willa and Jake meet at an event and spend some time together. It’s steamy, erotic, and so special that they can’t stop thinking about each other. Willa doesn’t believe she’s gorgeous, but Jake knows that she’s unbelievably beautiful. He helps her see her worth and builds her confidence. Anya Summers has a unique style that creates characters with passion, explores their deepest feelings, and challenges them to overcome their fears. Willa and Jake’s HEA is well deserved!.

Evidently this came out in an anthology awhile back and Ms. Summers has now gotten her rights back so she is putting it out as a single. I didn't read the anthology but I snapped this book up. Jake and Willa were "chef's kiss" partners. She thinks it's only going to be for one night to let her indulge in the fantasies she writes but Jake has other ideas. He's totally smitten with her and knows that one night will never be enough. So sweet but so hot at the same time, I loved this story!! Can Jake make Willa see that he will always protect her? Will she give him the chance?

This book was different and shorter from the rest of the books in the series, probably because it belonged to an anthology.

I love when authors insert baseball into their stories since I am a huge fan of baseball. Wow is all I can say about this story…okay, maybe more. Anya is one of my favorite authors. I have read a lot of her books and each one is different and interesting. I thought this story was so sweet. Yes, it has smexy bits and bobs but the storyline is one that had me smiling like a loon the whole time I was reading it. Just fabulous! I read this as part of an anthology.

I had to pick it up for the newest dungeon singles novella by Anya Summers. Willa is a plus sized writer who meets a fit, athletic ball player at the same hotel where they both stayed. She doesn't think she fits in Jake's life as he's always seen with skinny super models which is something she isn't. It was a great steamy story which has no dungeon play per-se, but it was an enjoyable story. I just wish it was longer as I love this series!

I love Anya Summer’s books and this novella is a great read. It is set in the Hotel Vivaldi where there is a wedding, a romance writers convention and where the players of a baseball team playing in the championship game are staying. This story involves a catcher, Jake and a romance writer Willa who has had a crush on him forever. She thinks it is a one night stand but it is so much more and this story doesn’t end with the conference, there is an epilogue that is lovely.

This book was a wonderful whirlwind romance in the best of ways. A romance author and a baseball player have their random meeting and then we get all the feels reading their story. A quick nod off to the series and a few other characters, but Jake and Willa get all the focus. Loved the characters and their story and I have zero regrets for ignoring the world and reading it in one go.

Size 14 is plus size? How ridiculous and shame on people for believing that! This story is definitely based on lust and fantasy, but it's actually a finding your soulmate tale. Willa, an award winning author, meets Jake, a professional athlete, in a hotel bar where the sparks fly and the real story begins. This love story will have you rooting for the victory in more ways than one.

Jake is sitting at the bar and Willa sits down next to him and he had to get to know her.
This was a great story to read and I wanted more of them.
